We were seated downstairs- a cool space — but be aware this is a bar that serves pretty good food, not the reverse. The food was good, but expensive — $200 for 3 people, including a full bottle of wine that was on the low end of the scale.. Portions are small. Don’t go if you’re a vegan—you will leave hungry. Standouts from our choices: polenta with wild mushrooms, amazing fries and a great cauliflower appetizer. Sadly, we went a little too early — the live music started as we walked out the door at 10p
Service is outstanding as is the food. Cocktails are seasonal and clever.
Beehive’s post covid menu is lacking
Fairly expensive but truly some of the best dishes in Boston. The cocktails and atmosphere are also excellent!
Cuisine was very good as was the service. The fact that it's in the basement is something of a disappointment. It has the feel of a "speakeasy" but it's dark, windowless and difficult to climb the stairs (for us old folks), especially after eating a hearty meal.
They do have a stair lift but, of course, that's awkward.
Great environment for younger folk.
No flavor in food, especially the fuisilli
We had a reservation and were not seated until almost a half hour after the reservation. The server kept dropping the ball. We had to ask for obvious things, silverware and napkins for example. The food was fine but not anything special for the price. The outdoor area is nice
Awesome experience at their Sunday Brunch with Jazz. Musicians were so enjoyable, servers very nice and attentive, food was delicious and the art displayed by local artists were fantastic! If ever in Boston again I will be sure to return!
We had a lovely evening with amazing live music and great service while celebrating our friend’s birthday!
Thank you to the managers for doing their best to sit 9 of us close together and to our waitress Jessica for taking care of us.
Fun experience all around. We went for dinner and it lined up with the live music. Great show, delicious food. Will definitely be back
Awesome, lively, eclectic place to see emerging jazz artists while sipping artisanal cocktails and eating a fun meal.
Nice area outside for seating and to keep distance
Such a cute place good was delicious and it was a great date night time!
Great outdoor dining with wonderful food and located next to Speakeasy Theater!
I always come away from the Beehive saying “I have to remember Read profile pls this isn’t as good as I remember.” Portions are small, prices are higher, and service is uneven. Substitutions are refused and then you are offered what you wanted to sub as a side dish. It’s a brazen ploy to make more profit and consumer unfriendly. Cocktails are good but slightly overpriced as well. The patio is lovely and the interior is charming. The music can be great, but overall it’s the food, cost and service that counts and where Beehive unit, take falls down.
I had so much fun taking my mom here for live music! We had a couple of apps, some drinks, and a really great time. The bartender upstairs was energetic and made our wait time enjoyable before we got to go downstairs.
We arrived on time to the restaurant but we had to wait for 15 min for the table to be available which is not a huge deal but could be a little bit more apologetic about it. Food was good but not great. They ran out of the desserts and could only offer cheesecake with oreo crust it tasted burnt , my friend who was sharing with me said it as well. When I alerted the waitress she said that the oreo crust may have been over cooked - I had to assert that it tasted burnt she took it back . Enjoyed some music before having to leave overall ok experience the band was great!
Music was fantastic. Food always incredible. Best in Boston.
The food was fantastic! Our waitress was attentive and efficient. The ambiance was very cool - brick, ambient lighting, lively crowd. Cannot wait to go back!
Ordered several appetizers and drinks. Asked for another around of drinks but were told no and asked to leave by waitress because we didn’t order entrees. Had only been at the table for 1hr. Parents were visiting from out of town - will never go back.
A little dark for my taste but great food. Service was very good as well
Great atmosphere excellent service. Food was amazing. Highly recommend
Great food and drinks love the vibe! Our waiter was awesome
Very unassuming restaurant. Made reservations in advance and was a little disappointed with the upstairs seating as the downstairs looked a little more cozy. However, there was a 70’s B movie playing on the brick wall in front of us that kept everyone sitting near us very entertained. We Went for the music but did not realize it started at 10pm so we didn’t get to see. The ambiance is very nice with a bohemian flair. Our waiter, Gilberto, could not have been nicer. There is a great wine and beer selection which I also wasn’t expecting. The food completely exceeded my expectations. Would definitely go back again and hopefully see the live entertainment and will ask for downstairs table.
Fun date night- I highly recommend
Fun, date night or hang with friends.
Enjoyed the experience, atmosphere and location. Our Server Andrea was fantastic. Allowed us to take our time enjoying the appetizers, entrees and desert and didn't rush us. Checked in periodically to see if we needed anything, but wasn't intrusive.
One small item to note, potatoes served with the short ribs were cold. The plate was taken bake to the kitchen and was returned with everything hot. Other than that small incident, food was fantastic.
Woman at host station was not particularly friendly. Did not look up from desk or make eye contact. Waitress was a bit too attentive - asked how food was as soon as plates were put down and before we had had a chance to take our first bite. Waitress
also seemed to be only person on wait staff who was not wearing a mask. Food was good.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Our waitress was terrible. Did not give any care in the world to be nice or remember what we ordered. I left her $0. Wish I had stayed in. Will never recommend this place to anyone. The food was also quite terrible. The shakshuka is an insult to the middle eastern dish
Excellent front of house, and server!
So impressed by outdoor seating!
Delicious food, good drinks. Great service. Would definitely recommend
Probably the 7-8th time we've been there, but first post-Covid. As always the place has a great energy and food that is easy to share and enjoy. Waiter did a very good job and hostess was friendly. One change and disappointment is there is no live jazz early in the evening, only at 10PM. We were looking forward to it when making the reservation. It's still a great place to go, but that part was a little bit of a let down.
Fun, lively atmosphere. Tasty food and fresh twists on cocktails!
It was a good experience, the food and drinks were great, so was the service. The indoor dining tables are too tightly packed, I found myself crammed into a pole and the chairs were wobbly. I wish the establishment took more care of the seating quality for guests. I was excited to enjoy the ambience but the seating was a bummer.
We sat outside on the patio and had a lovely meal. The service was very good and the food was delicious. It's a very pleasant place to eat - inside or out.
This place is
I love the vibe at Beehive on Sunday mornings with mellow, live music. The menu seems a bit shrunken (likely due to COVID consequences), but the dishes are very good. My husband's Shakshuka arrived at room temp, he objected, and the dish was quickly replaced by a piping hot version. That level of customer awareness is truly appreciated.
Amazing food at Sunday brunch and service was outstanding! Can;t leave it out how delicious the Bloody Mary was!!!! Can't wait to go back!!!
Honestly disappointed. I have been to the Beehive many times before and usually have a very positive and memorable experience. From food to service to ambiance everything was mediocre. The poached eggs were overcooked (not runny at all), the service was decent (table wasn't ready for reservation and server was OK). The highlight should've been the jazz as it was a Sunday, but the band barely played...when the band wasn't playing the music switched to country and was very loud. Totally changed the vibe and not for the better... I'm not too eager to return...
