Bruce Bears is one of the best - Sunday night has never sounded so good
Great food, atmosphere, service.
I was there on Saturday at about 9:45am for brunch. We made reservations which I'm glad we did because the place filled up. The food was amazing! I ordered the poached eggs North African style with spiced lamb. My husband had the blueberry ricotta pancakes. We sat right next to the stage downstairs where a 3-piece band played some country-ish tunes. I usually don't like country music but these guys were great. We sat right next to the stage and could carry on a conversation without having to yell at each other. The restaurant has a hip vibe to it. I'd like to go back in the evening some day.
Great service. Although the espresso machine upstairs was broken, the server went to the second service area downstairs to bring us the so needed coffee.
One comment, we could barely hear the singer upstairs
It was a fantastic evening. Leah Woods Music was a great band to watch there as well.
Cool vibe, cute waiters and live music, great for girls night out :))) very accommodating with reservation although online booking is very intimidating... good time
Great cocktails, meal, service and ambiance. We ate outside as well.
We visited Boston from Rhode Island on Saturday and had an early, 6:30 dinner. Super good!
Loved the Farroto dish! Was surprised there was music then which made the evening
even better! Our waiter was really good and the place is very cool. Will definitely be back!
This restaurant is in a great location if you want to get away from the crowds. It's a neighborhood restaurant a good walk from Boston Commons, so not as many tourists or kids.
this is our second time visiting. Had a great experience couple years ago. this visit- food was only fair, sent back a dish (eggs overcooked)with re -order which never was given to us so one in our party never got food. Love the ambiance in general but would not rush back again.
The place is absolutely nice. Food was way much better than we expected. Love the jazz on Saturday morning.
The Hostess/manager was not accommodating. The water glasses were dirty and stained. Limited menu
Rudest hostess. I will never go back to beehive.
the food is great here, but the service is ALWAYS slow and terrible. The hostess was rude and based on her attitude, clearly didnt want to be there and it took someone just over 20 minutes to bring us water.
Went for a Sunday Blues date night. It was wonderful! Great food, great music, great service - I'm sure we'll be back again.
Wonderful ambiance.. great service.. delicious food and incredible live entertainment
Great food, great music
We went for the ‘Jazz Brunch’ which had a nice ambience. I’ve eaten here once before and was looking forward to going back. Food menu is small, which I actually appreciate, but then expect them to nail the few things they do. Brisket eggs benedict could’ve been great, the brisket was delightful - but was served on two burnt sides of English muffin and with massively over-poached eggs. I didn’t sent it back as I was hungry and the restaurant was busy, I didn’t want to wait. In other circumstances I may have politely done so. The dressing on the side salad was also very uneven - some leaves overpowering, others untouched.
If the price was a few $ less per plate, I would be more forgiving, but when you’re charging these prices, I expect to leave satisfied. Would consider going back for a third visit next time I am in Boston as it’s a great spot with nice ambience, but it may not be my immediate first choice.
Really enjoyed our brunch. Love jazz music too.
We went to the Beehive for Father's Day Jazz Brunch. Every aspect of our experience was perfect. We were greeted right away upon arrival and taken to a great table very near the musicians. Our breakfast of frittata, juice and coffee was excellent, the ambiance was perfect, and the music was wonderful. We will definitely be back.
Excellent food and drinks. Great atmosphere! We had a great seat with a view of the live music and the scene.
Great place, fantastic service, and excellent food!
The only thing that fouled our experience was the waiter's mistake in a crucial order and how she reacted afterwards. My friend ordered a virgin drink, since she stopped drinking alcohol in 5 years. But the waiter brought us something that was definitely not virgin, I understand that mistakes happen, but how she handled the aftermath was utterly insensitive, she went about explaining something else , without addressing the gravity of her error, that was really disappointing to say the least.
Always a great choice. We often go before theater at the BCA.
Great atmosphere and food !
Great date night with live music. Salmon was exceptional- crispy skin and served with delicious black rice and roasted but crisp cauliflower. The queen bee cocktail was refreshing and they have great beers on tap.
Wine was served on the warm side, led us to question how it was stored. Skirt steak was very thin. Great flavor, but very thin... couldn’t be cooked medium rare because it was so thin. Great service as always. We’ll be back, just disappointed this time.
Awesome food and music.
Really cool place that has an awesome atmosphere (really good music, bar scene, etc.). However, expect absolutely horrible service if you go to dinner here. They really need to improve on that.
Patio seating was perfection. Bar tender and waitress was pleasant and personable.
Food was incredible and waitress was so nice
Live band was a great surprise, and the food was delicious
More vegan options please! Great other than that!
I really enjoyed having brunch at the Beehive. I was worried that it would be hard to find parking because I booked brunch during the Pride Parade, but I found street parking quickly. I was disappointed with the lack of food options on the menu, but the drinks were fantastic! I ordered the Queen Bee and by boyfriend ordered the Birds Eye.
I had the Country Ham Benedict and my boyfriend enjoyed the Egg Shakshuka with Lamb. We had a great time!
Wonderful food and jazz
Sharon "Sugar" Jones was singing, and this made for a particularly enjoyable evening. I was dubious about the vegetarian option, "farrotto," but found that I enjoyed it thoroughly because the accompanying vegetables had been well prepared. Salmon served to my companion was deemed "perfect."
We had a great tim.
First time there
lots of action
Beehive is always great for a nice pre-theatre meal. The atmosphere is lively, and moderately loud burnconversation is still easy. Portions are generous, cocktails excellent. Free dessert for those going to the Huntington as well.
