Industrial-Bohemian vibe in the basement restaurant supported by a great menu, delicious food, and superb service.
Food was magnificent. I'm forgetting our Server's name, but she was GREAT! Genuinely pleasant, very helpful and we didn't wait for anything - food, drink, check Also very nice busperson. The musicians that night were extraordinary (George Garzone, John Lockwood, Phil Grenadier. All around perfect evening. thank you. Marla
We came to celebrate an important birthday for my son and his girlfriend. From our first drink at the bar to the final bite of dessert it was perfect. I love the ambiance, the music, food, and great service. Highly recommend for any occasion.
Loved the atmosphere and music! Almost felt like a speakeasy where we sat near the performers. Alex provided impeccable service. Highly recommend the blueberry ricotta pancakes! Taste was perfect, and the pancakes were very moist while the edges were slightly crispy. Yum!
Brunch with live Jazz on Sunday! Hard to find but worth the search. There were 4 of us that ordered different meals and crafted drinks tasting them all. No disappointments in the bunch. Personal favorites are the blueberry ricotta pancakes and the milk shake drink with nutella!
Loud, hard to talk, but always a great vibe.
It was super great!! Have a great time!!!
The server must have had too many tables but it was hard to find him, even for water refills. And the food took a long time. We needed help thinking about appetizers for the table but neither suggestion was good. And the server did not explain what the food was like or provide any extra info or support. Unfortunate because it's a cute place, but we won't be back!
They person who took the reservation was so caring and helpful. I was blown away how fantastic they were. to us. We changed our table three times, first to be close to the music and then to move a bit furthur away and they handled the changes with grace. They brought my grandson crayons when he got bored and they even had dino nuggets for him. The tune tar tare was great , as were the ribs, the salmon was ok, the fries were terrific.
Great ambiance, good music. It was a great vibe for the evening. It was not as swanky as I would have liked for mother’s day, but all in my party enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely come back.
Took my mom to Beehive for mother’s day. The food was excellent and he ambiance was great. The waitress was very engaged and gave us some background information on the band that was playing. It was required to order off the pre fix menu, but everything we had was awesome so I didn’t mind. Definitely a great place to go for special occasions!
The prix fixe Mother's Day brunch was wildly over-priced and the food was pretty mediocre.
Amazing, love this restaurant
We’ve been to the Beehive many times and always leave remembering how much we love this place. They just have it all right—pleasant and professional service, great food, and fun atmosphere. We particularly enjoy the live jazz! Perfect also if you are seeing a play next door.
We went for the music, but the music (when it finally started) was too subdued. Food very good, atmosphere fun & eclectic, but music disappointing.
We've had brunch twice at Beehive in the last month. Once we showed up without a reservation and sat downstairs at the bar. When we made a reservation we were seated two tables away from the band that was playing. I was very worried as we were with my parents who are in their mid-70's and hard of hearing, but we just saved our conversation for when the band took breaks. In the future I'll know to request a table farther from the band. The food is really delicious and the service is friendly!
we always like to come into town from the burbs for a great brunch once in a while. Beehive is always fun and a great way to start an adventurous day in Boston. Creative offerings with both drink and food specials. You have to try the Poutine.
I did not have a great beginning of the night here, if it weren’t for management. Even with reservations we had to wait a half hour to be seated. After sitting down we looked at the menu when security asked if we sat ourselves down. His tone was unprofessional and aggressive. He then asked me to push my chair in until I couldn’t move as my chest was pressing up against the table so wait staff can get by tables. The set up of this place was extremely u comfortable. He then stood around the corner and glared every so often. Management was made aware of this experience and accommodated is appropriately. She frequently checked in on us and was very nice. Unfortunately the tone of night was set when we initially sat down. Food was good but not worth the hassle.
Excellent food, great ambience
Even though the menu was smaller than what we saw online, the selection was still great, and the food we ordered was loved by all of us - appetizers as well as mains. The drink menu was fun. Service was fantastic all around. A loud place - not somewhere to go for a romantic dinner or quiet conversation - but the jazz music was pleasant, and overall the place hummed with energy.
Amazing! Such a cool vibe and a little romantic! Perfect for maybe the 2nd date just because of the loud music. The duck and wine was veryyyy yummy!
I liked the food and drinks and would love to come back and sit at the bar. it had GF options for my wife which helps us find a restaurant that works for both of us. the blues band was very good indeed. i would come back and recommend to others. it was not crowded so it was not an issue for us on sunday night but if all tables were full, i think it would be hard to hear the band from the back. this is a bit hard for a good balance. mind you i am glad they did not play so loud i could not hear conversation but if all of the tables were full it might be hard to hear the band and others talk. do note that my biggest complaints with restaurants are 1) not being able to hear conversation and 2) tables too small and too close to the next table. both of these are risks for the beehive. i do plan to come back. you have a unique place and i love live music. but if i cant hear the band or my conversation i will probably not return
Incredible experience and amazing food. I’d go every weekend if I could.
I loved the ambiance.. music was great!
The food was very good
Food was very good, but could have had 3 pancakes vs 2 on a plate that costs $15.00.
Great food. The jazz brunch was really fun.
The Rap music was horrible
Beehive is the best place in Boston for a combination of great food great people watching music and a cool vibe
The entertainment was great!! Bring Sarah Brindell back!
The service from our waiter was exceptional. The food was good, but the beer (IPA) was marginal. We were their to listen to the music, but sat in the dining room area and the acoustics were not very good. I would recommend asking if we wanted to sit closer (there were tables open) to the stage area.
The restaurant has an industrial feel and I guess I expected a true speakeasy kind of atmosphere. I would recommend painting the ceiling black throughout the restaurant to create a much more quaint space.
Overall, we enjoyed the evening and I think the music was good (based on what we could hear).
Been here over a handful of times and I always love the food and ambiance. However, the last time I was there, my server was rude and inattentive. Did not expect such poor service from a place like this. Other than that, food was good as usual
Lovely dinner at the Beehive to celebrate my daughters graduation!
Great place to meet up with friends for dinner, enjoy live music. Very eclectic, artistic and unique place. Good food, friendly service.
We've been to the jazz brunch at the Beehive at least five other times, all have been lovely. Today, it really felt like they were just going through the motions (poorly) because it's so popular a place that delivering a good exposure to individual customers isn't as important anymore. We will likely look for other places the next time we look to have brunch in the area.
I’ve been to the Beehive several times for brunch and dinner over the last 3 or 4 years. I’ve always thought the food was average and went mainly for the vibe and the music. But last Saturday evening I took my 4 house guests from out of state for a late evening dinner and I couldn’t have been more thrilled with the experience! This time the food was outstanding - the best duck I’ve ever had and my friends also loved the short ribs - and the service excellent. The place was jumping, as usual, and we all had a terrific time!
Nice atmosphere with live music. Food was good.
Jazz brunch was so amazing. Looking forward to going again.
Endroit magnifique, scène musicale très agréable et nourriture excellente 😋 je recommande vivement
J’y retournerai 👍🏻
Great experience! We had the duck breast and swordfish, which we both loved! Awesome atmosphere with live music. Will definitely go back.
