My go to date night spot in the south end. You can’t go wrong if you’re looking for an energetic, fun time!
Beehive was AWESOME! Great atmosphere, food, music, and service. Had people with food allergies and all accommodated. Server was fantastic. I would go again anytime.
Fantastic meal, great music to listen to and great service. Dominic went out of his way to help us with our order. He made a great wine suggestion and came by to make sure everything was ok for us.
The food was delicious. The service was friendly and great. I thought the food was delivered almost too quickly from the time we ordered. Also, the amount of wine in our glasses felt a little stingy.
Go later to get the full ambience and experience. Service was excellent from the waiters we would definitely return
I love the Beehive, in general. However, twice now I have had terrible service. The waiter rushed us through our orders, didn’t listen when we were speaking because he was talking over us, and then had to ask clarifying questions because he didn’t hear the orders we placed.
Additionally, he rushed us through the meal, brought the bill after our drinks without asking if we’d like anything else, and acted as if we were an imposition simply by sitting.
The ambiance and food are good; definitely a fun location. But beware the service. You will be expected to rush so that they can seat more customers.
Wanted to hear some jazz so booked the Beehive. Loved the interior and the fact that there is no cover charge! Seated in a great spot and ready for music. Come to find out that Mondays are Reggae night - we love Reggae but wanted jazz so that was a little disappointing. Being from out of town, we didn't realize it was Reggae Monday. Besides that, the venue is great and the food was FANTASTIC! We had the braised short ribs with veggies and the salmon with farro and pine nuts - excellent flavor, nice portions, and great value. If we are ever in Boston again, will definitely check out the Beehive!
It can be difficult to get into Beehive but is worth the effort. Great spot. Delicious and creative food. Excellent service.
We went to Beehive on a recommendation for the live music. Sunday night blues. The music was great, very enjoyable. We did not count on having an outstanding meal in addition to live music but we were pleasantly surprised. We both had halibut and it was fantastic. Highly recommend Beehive for BOTH live music and dining. Reservations recommended.
Such a cool venue with great music & ambiance. Staff were attentive and the food was fantastic. Highly recommended.
Fantastic ! Jazz and brunch
Great Brunch with very talented Jazz Musicians!
Love Beehive! They had love music, great crowd and great drinks. Can’t ask for much more.
Food was good and it’s very convenient to the Calderwood Theater. A little on the noisy side but I liked it and service was good.
Great food and service. One of the best date night spots in Boston. It is fun and feels like an occasion every time you go there.
I frequently bring business partners to the Beehive for great food and an amazing ambiance with eclectic bands. When the waitstaff has a bit of an attitude it gets awkward and it plays into the overall experience. I love this place and pray the people that get to work here will be more tolerant and service minded.
+ : Delicious food, great atmosphere, good music
- : Too loud, watery cocktails
Wonderful place and great service. The sea bass was to die for. The servers were awesome and the band was great.
Great food, great service. Food priced way too high
Haven’t been here in awhile. Enjoyed it as much as always!!!
This was my third time at Beehive- I always try to make it to a Sunday brunch when I'm visiting Boston. This time we were with our 8 year old, which was a new experience. We had great entertainment by the Jazz Band, a great view of their performance and our little girl had the opportunity to choose from items on a children's menu that also doubled as a coloring activity. The staff is great and the ambiance is cozy and eclectic. I'll certainly be back.
We’ve been going to the Beehive on and off for a number of years and it’s consistently wonderful. It’s our go-to when going to the SpeakEasy next door. Every aspect is pleasant—friendly host seated us right away and then brought our friends to the table, prompt, professional yet warm service, and always excellent food. And no problem getting to the theater on time!
Salmon overcooked they charge 4 dollars for bread and no bread comes with salad. Very pricey and not worth it. I suspect it is better with music i went early and wait staff was not attentive
60th bday celebration. Great food, music & atmosphere
Food was phenomenal and we had a great time visiting with friends! The drink menu was very creative and everyone in our party was more than pleased! We had reservations at 8:45 in expectation to catch a little of the advertised performer at 10. When 10:00 came, the opening act played for a short time then went off stage. Unfortunately by 11 still no performer and we had to leave. Sorry that we missed out but overall it was still a great time!
I do love the atmosphere but the food is only okay. I wouldn’t go here for dinner. The music is way too loud to be comfortable
Great location for pre-theater. Best part is ambiance, as it is warm and vibrant. A bit too loud, but most restaurants are. Decent music, a bit too loud for easy conversation even in the adjoining room. Great wait person who then got somewhat too busy, but she was terrific generally. The food--fine. Steak was tasty but too salty. Salads were good as was shrimp wrapped in bacon. Strong average to above average in everything except the really great ambiance. Fun overall and we would go back.
Music was too loud, wine selection was weak, and the only seats we were offered in the main room were in high traffic sections (e.g., next to the bathroom area) . Not suitable for talking to your date.
Service was slow
Loved this restaurant. We stopped for Sunday brunch with live jazz. Luckily we had reservations because walk-ins were being turned away. It's that popular. They make a killer Bloody Mary - it's almost a meal in itself. My wife and I had the smoked salmon Eggs Benedict. I would have preferred a little more Hollandaise, but my wife thought it was just perfect. We will definitely make this a stop on our next visit to Boston.
Very pleased with the food and service. Would come again
Made reservation for an anniversary. Table not ready for 45min. then in an area we did not want to be. Noise was deafening, music not being listened to. Dress code advertised as business casual, more like coming home from the beach. Puerile staff no help. Waited for service for a while, then just left.
Convenient to the Boston Center for the Arts. Mellow place with a good singer on the Friday night we were there. Chicken and lamb neck were both delicious.
Great food and live music! Restaurant was a little loud but the halibut was fantastic.
Our server left for the evening and said that a cocktail server would take care of us. She never came to our table, and we never managed to flag her down. Last time, the cocktail server was awesome.
Great as always with inventive menu choices and attentive service.
Wonderful Sunday Night Jazz live performers. Meal was an amazing mix of flavors suitable for Foodies but also a nice take on comfort food that made the evening special with every bite.
I had heard that The Beehive had a great brunch so I was surprised and disappointed in our meal there. All of our food was barely warm and the eggs in my dish were supposed to be poached but the yolks were hard time by the time they were served. The bloody Mary’s were very watery and also disappointing. Our server was very pleasant but could have been more attentive. Additional drinks ordered came a good 20 minutes after they were requested. I question if the food was cold due to the servers lack of attention or problems in the kitchen. On the plus side the music was great and the ambiance is fun.
