The service as absolutely amazing. So friendly and knowledgeable. Great energy from entry to exit.
I took my husband for his birthday and we enjoyed ourselves very much!
The chef should have a little flexibility. Asked him to throw some seafood into the vegetarian paella- obviously okay with any upcharge- even just some shrimp- and he absolutely refused. For the record, I ordered the paella and it was “okay”. You serve people- not yourself. Learn to be flexible and when to say no. This wasn’t a big ask. I was embarrassed in front of our CEO when I had chosen the restaurant and his request for seafood was denied. Won’t be back.
All service was extremely good, friendly, and very professional without seeming highbrow. From the door to the table, all The Beehive staff was on point and the live music was very high quality. But, MOST IMPORTANTLY... The food was delicious. So much so that on our 5 day trip to Boston, we visited The Beehive twice. Our first visit we arrived after Dinner service had closed so we ordered the Bacon-wrapped shrimp along with the Corn & Snap Pea Salad. Both were outstanding! The Blues band was excellent and the atmosphere was comfortable, light and enjoyable. Second visit, we had the Duck with Fried Rice and the Lobster & Squid Ink Pasta. Again, well done and outstanding selections. The Reggae band was talented and very entertaining. If I lived in Boston, I would be a regular without a doubt!
It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the basement inside is filled with live music and amazing food. Service was impeccable, and our waitress helped my date select an off-menu date that met her needs completely. Appetizers were amazing, entrees were amazing, and the cheesecake was melt-in-your-mouth fantastic. The live band was great, their performance was engaging, and I wish we had discovered this place before our last night in Boston. We will return when we visit the city again!
Awesome establishment. Highly recommend the calamari!
Some of the best food I have had in awhile! The appetizer corn and calamari was fantastic! I got the half chicken as my meal and loved it! The waitstaff was incredibly attentive and the atmosphere was great!! I will be going back soon. It is a great spot for a date, family dinner, special event, etc.
We love coming here for brunch on Sundays, love the food and live music, but the service was truly terrible and it wasn't a full house. This will be the last time we visit for a while.
Outside seating was perfect as was the food! We'll be back for sure!
Sweet brunch spot, would be like any of the other good, bougie brunch spots nearby, EXCEPT the amazing jazz makes it so special. We were worried it might be too loud to talk, but where we sat was perfect to listen and enjoy while also think and chat over good food and drinks. The coffee cake may get more hype than it deserves, but still good!
BEEHIVE is FUN!
Having been to Beat Brasserie in Cambridge, we wanted to give the very popular BeeHive a whirl. It’s a young, fun, hip (we are none of these things) place with a REALLY good jazz band. We sat near the stage and thoroughly enjoyed the terrific music. The food is comforting and decent (eggs Benedict with short ribs, homemade “coffee cake”, burgers with inventive relish, fries made like homemade potato chips), but the live music MAKES BeeHive worth a return visit. The server was friendly and very upbeat, and made our visit even more fun. (While we had reservations and were given a great table right on time, there were MANY empty tables outside, in the upstairs dining area, and in the downstairs bar area which remained empty despite the LONG wait for non reservation holders.) We will definitely return to BeeHive for the great jazz and recommend it for decent comfort food, friendly service and especially for the great jazz!
Really great. Cocktails on point and food quite special!
Food was unique and delicious, service was incredible!
Always enjoy the beehive. Service is so friendly and attentive, food is great and they entertainment never disappoints! Will be back.
Très bon restaurant. Musique live. Accueil et service aux petits soins. Un lieu incontournable de Boston
Amazing atmosphere with gorgeous decor and unique art pieces. Music was super amazing. We'll be back and will tell all of our friends back home in Ottawa. Thank you for a great night!
Amazing food! Great live jazz!! Sunday Brunch!
When we finished our meal we stayed to catch up. Our waiter kept hovering around table taking a few items off the table, kind of anoying while trying to talk. Restaurant was not busy, table wasn't needed. Server shold have cleared everything at once.
The live band playing set such a fantastic Sunday brunch mood. Food was delicious and the staff were incredibly friendly!
For our 25wedding anniversary my husband and I went to the Beehive for brunch, and as always the food, servers and ambiance did not disappoint
It’s always our go to place when visiting Boston
Local treasure :)
Awesome date spot with live music and amazing food. I would recommend it for celebrating anything. The seating is a bit cramped but otherwise a great place
The food was not good. No consistency with the drinks either. Every negative comment I’ve read regarding the service/help is spot on. Just surprised regarding the food and quality. Ambiance is great though.
The service was outstanding, as was everything else! One of my favorite places in Boston to take out of town friends. Wish I had room for dessert ! Our dinner and cocktails were amazing!!!!
Meeting grandfather and husband for dinner while they were in town for the night.
When we walked in, we were pleasantly surprised to see a beautiful, eclectic atmosphere. The decor was stunning, live music and the food was amazing. I wish we had a place like this on Long Island, NY because it would be packed! Highly recommend for friends get together and also business meals.
Great time and great music
Food was amazing and great music. Wonderful spot for Sunday brunch. Love the atmosphere.
When Beehive called to confirm my reservation the sommelier recommended a champagne (since I had mentioned it was my wedding anniversary on the reservation). His recommendation was perfect! We were seated immediately upon arrival. It was very busy, so the reservation was a must. A manager and the waiter wished us Happy Annivesary, which meant a lot. My husband had skirt steak and eggs and I had the brioche french toast with sausage and peach compote. Both meals were fantastic. We were adjacent to the stage, but it wasn't too loud- loved enjoying the jazz while we ate. We had a slice of strawberry cheesecake after our meal with coffee, and both were divine! Highly recommend!
The kitchen area needs to be covered by a curtain or something. Our table was right where the jazz band was but we were staring at the kitchen the entire time. It takes away from the atmosphere
Music was sensational. Woo Factor is awesome!!!
Awesome place. Food and service was great. Music was funky!
Awesome! Great menu. Oysters were delightful! Corn and pea salad amazing. Loved the duck. Maple bread pudding, like french toast. Nice wine list. Nice bourbon list. Excellent staff. Live music too!
I have been planning to go to the Beehive for so long. I finally made it to celebrate my sister's birthday and mine, since both are in July. It was amazing! The service from Alexa was great. She is charming, personable, knowledgeable, and attentive. This was five star service, and the manager also came out to ask about our experience.
The bacon wrapped shrimp were delicious. They came with a peach bbq sauce about which I forgot because they were grilled and had that char/smokey flavor that is so befitting a summer appetizer. I will try the sauce next time. The grilled skirt steak dish was slightly different from the online menu. I was so pleased! It was sliced and was in a shishito pepper chimichurri sauce. It was served over grilled mini-corn-on-the-cob which was flavored with a paprika butter. Yes, it was as incredible as it sounds. We sat outside and just enjoyed the entire experience. I had a great IPA too, though they definitely could expand the beer options to include more IPA's ( Just the Clown Shoes Clementine and Harpoon). I also tried my sister's "Fall-Off-The-Bone" ribs which were spectacular (on the Hors D'Oeuvres menu). The Hors D'Oeuvres we had (the shrimp and ribs) may seem a bit expensive for some when it comes to appetizers ($18 and $16) but they were just delectable. We didn't even talk about prices, as the menu items sounded incredible and the restaurant delivered. I can't wait to go back!
Ordered the quiche for myself and split the coffee cake with my fiancé and friend. Everything was so yummy! Inside has some great live music and outside has a very cute patio! Definitely recommend checking this place out.
The atmosphere is phenomenal.
One of our party has a medical condition which requires some dietary restrictions and our server Fabricio was incredibly helpful and attentive. We loved the food, atmosphere and service! Highly recommend!
I really wanted to like Beehive. It was recommended to me by a friend for the Jazz Brunch; however, my dining experience was very disappointing overall. I will say, service was incredibly accommodating with a friendly and sweet staff. I left smiling over the service, but unhappy with the meal at a price.
We came in with a reservation on a Sunday afternoon to relax, catch music and a brunch-y meal before heading out of town. The hostesses were so kind to handle our luggage and insisted that they do the lifting. It was sweltering hot outside. I ordered eggs, as did my dining partner. They were hardly cooked at all in either of our dishes (I had the Benedict and he the Shashuka.) I am not sure how anyone could enjoy such raw eggs. Everything was plated in an unappetizing way, to be honest. Since the weather had me feeling under the weather, and the waitress was so kind to happily suggest a veggie substitute to the meat options listed, I didn't send it back. However, I left spending almost $50 to have eaten the side salad it came with. We sat upstairs and it was difficult to hear the live jazz over the sounds of the other diners and restaurant bustle.
Great jazz music and an exciting menu. Only a few allergy- friendly options, however.
We had great service, listened to live jazz music, had a great selection of food, and the general aesthetic of this place is romantic, cozy, and almost New Orleans. The food is unique and a blend of multiple cultures (Moroccan, southern American, french, etc). This is a great place to take out of town guests. Go on Saturdays if you want less of a crowd. I believe Saturdays are live jazz and Sundays are live Blues.
Food was BOMB.
