I’m beside myself with how awful the service was. It seemed like it was from support staff to manager, (with the exception of the hosts) everyone’s first day in a restaurant. 30 minutes to take a simple brunch order. Half of our order arrived and we sat there for a good 10 minutes before the rest of the food arrived; in those 10 minutes no explanation was given to where the rest of the order was or what to expect. Just a bizarre awful experience.
Service, seating, and ambience was great. The live music was a nice touch as well. We sat near the band and we could still have a full conversation comfortably (without having to shout over the music). I had their Queen Bee cocktail which was apparently their most popular - but it’s not on their menu. It was good but definitely more of a drink to sip on. It was very sweet and tasted like lychee (the fruit).
Hor devours: their strawberry coffee cake was PHENOMENAL. It’s definitely small (especially for the price). And shared among 4 people - we each got two small bites and finished it. But it was so good - especially when it was fresh and warm. Crunchy /on the outside edge but soft and warm on the inside. They added berries and confectioners sugar on top which was a nice touch. But their honey-butter on the side was EXCELLENT. I would have bought a whole jar of it if I could. It went VERY well with their coffee cake and I even asked for more for my main entree.
Main entrees: my friends and I got the (two) Turkey Hash, Salmon Benedict’s, and the chicken-steak. All were good but it didn’t blow us away. All the dishes were slightly too salty. But the portions are large (except for the Benedict dish which was your normal-sized-Benedict-dish) and definitely filling.
But the waiter kept coming around to refill our water glass - so service was definitely perfect. But then again, the place wasn’t packed.
Overall, a good experience but probably would only come back for their coffee cake. You’re essentially paying for the ambience (vibe & live music & service) than for the food.
The location of the Beehive makes it grand for theater goers, and the service was spectacular. The setting feels hollow and it was difficult to find light, and the food was just OK.
Food and service were phenomenal. Reggae night was a lot of food. Overall, it was a great find. Will definitely be back.
Great music - Great food - Great drinks - Great service - - what more could you ask for?!?!
We had a great experience at Beehive. We tried the lamb, skirt steak and duck. Everyone’s meals were delicious and we did not have to wait long for the food to come out. Overall, had a great experience and planning on coming back next time we are in town.
Lovely brunch. Downstairs is better seating than upstairs but upstairs still pleasant
Lovely brunch, great table and perfect server! Awesome jazz!
Delicious food! We loved the vegetable curry, avocado salad, and roast lamb! Live music was fun as well. A bit difficult for longer conversations as it was pretty noisy in the restaurant. Ultimately we had a great time and enjoyed the energy and tasty food.
The best waffles I have ever had. I can't wait to go back. I drank the Paul Bunyan and it was outstanding.
The hostesses and servers were friendly and fun, the food and drinks were excellent, the music energized the crowd and we left knowing that we would return.
The decor is very interesting-good. Food was good. Live jazz was gentle. Waiter was overly enthusiastic.
Both got the vegetarian options and neither were very palatable. Sorry- won’t return.
Sarah was our waitress she was awsome !!!!
Can’t wait to return
Food was poor. Bee hive salad, where we're all the ingredients promised in the menu.
I was very surprised at the poor quality against great atmosphere.
Wonderful varied menu, the food was very good and the service was excellent! I will be back.
We were placed right in front of the band. I asked if the band was going to be loud and the hostess assured me it would not be. We were there for a business meeting and basically it was a complete fail. It was too loud. I am disappointed that this was not explained to us, giving us the option of a quieter space within the restaurant, BEFORE we got there.
Excellent and attentive service, delicious food with reasonable portions, pleasant music throughout
The food , the service, the music, the scene... all fantastic.
It was fantastic, they definitely know what they’re doing! Great flow from everyone who works here. Incredible service, drinks, music and food. Very cool spot — highly recommended.
Great place to go, I was very satisfied with the food and the live ambiance in there.
Good food and service. A bit noisy, but nice atmosphere and always a lively vibe. We didn't stay long enough to hear the jazz artists. A great neighborhood go-to place.
The service was horrible. They could have been faster and more helpful. Food was fine but the atmosphere was great. Love the music.
Waffles were awful. Seemed like they were pre-made and just sitting there for awhile. Music was good, but that’s about it
Great music, vibes, and food! Chicken fried steak was amazing
Loved this place! Love Jazz band was a plus!! Definitely will be back!
Awesome food & great atmosphere
Absolutely one of the best overall dining experiences I’ve ever had! Impeccable service, delicious food and great entertainment. They are also fantastic with gluten sensitivity, I have celiacs it was not a problem at all!
They failed to seat us near music as requested in invite. Was disappointing.
Brought my college-age and high school-age children here during a visit for a Sunday Jazz brunch. Couldn't have been more pleased with my experience, start to finish!
Ambiance and service were exceptional! Loved the jazz music playing during brunch, musicians were wonderful! I would definitely recommend coming here!
Food was ok not nearly as amazing as memory served.
Additionally it was my Gf birthday and I had called ahead for a dessert and it was completely forgotten by our server/ staff.
Atmosphere is nice and service was timely.
Good food and great music, lots of fun. We were visiting Boston and was recommended by a friend.
I went to Beehive with out of town friends. Our server, Kate, was fabulous. She read the table well, make great suggestions, was just really helpful. The food was excellent. We were sitting fairly close to the front and there was a jazz trio playing. The music was good, but made it a little tough to chat. Would definitely go back.
Fantastic place you must go , music food interior people no tv’s ..
it’s justclike a sleek easy joint
Everything was exceptionally great. Service from all members was considerate, helpful, and simply a joy. The food arrived much quicker than we thought and the drinks were delicious. The has band was playing which made the nose level energetic but otherwise it was easy to hold a conversation with moderate noise.
Very nice experience. The hosts were wonderful and the food and drinks absolutely delicious.
The service was excellent and we went during a very quiet time which was nice. The ambiance is really nice for a date or special occasion. Only thing is that the food was overpriced, it is elevated bar food which is really delicious but was still too much money for what they offer. The cocktails were so good though- they were dangerous!
A fabulous way to celebrate my birthday especially with Michael at the bar.
The staff is amazing & be it as it may have the menu doesn’t attract Vegans, the effort for accommodations is a plus.
The live music is grade A & as the Brad Goff band was extremely entertaining especially the Violinist.
I’ll visit the Beehive each time I return to Boston.
