Beckrew Wine House
Great wine list and friendly, knowledgeable staff.
Great beverage selection, delicious food and great service!
Great place to meet friends & enjoy a glass of wine with tapas. Everything was delicious!
Excellent food. Would definitely recommend. Flatbread pizza was wonderful.
Monday night - not particularly full. Took over an hour to get food and were rather neglected for most of the evening. Food and wine cleared from table, took 20-30 minutes before anyone came around so we could ask for the check.
Great wine selection. Good price range. Tapas sized food was well prepared. Definitely a great place for casual dinner with good wines!
Overall a pleasant experience. The food was good and the wine was as expected at a place like this. They had a lot of good choices to choose from! Will definitely go back and recommend to friends!
Our first visit will have many to follow. Being a little hesitant visiting a Wine House, as my friend is not drinking wine but beer, he was pleasantly surprised by the small but great beer selection. The ambience is very enjoyable. We loved the relaxing background music and the beautiful interior decoration. The staff was very attentive and made us feel welcome and home immediately. We started with a couple Bruschettas: Bresaola and fresh Pear, and the Jamon Iberico and Brie. They’re such wonderful combinations of flavors on the perfect toasted slice of baguette. Our main selection was the Charcuterie and Cheese Plate. The “mix and match” option of the different charcuterie and cheeses were the perfect selection to determine our favorites for the next visit. We ordered our chosen cheese, the Manchego Don Julian, as our choice for dessert. It was served with honey and more delicious bread. The Beckrew Wine House is definitely one of our top choices in Houston to dine and hang out!
I only gave the restaurant 3 stars for food and value because I did not get to try their food or order drinks off of their menu. Open Table won't accept my review if I don't rate those 2 categories. I had a great time at a wine tasting I attended at Beckrew. The inside is beautiful and cozy and it seems like they have an amazing by the glass menu. It was fairly empty on a Wednesday night and I plan to go there again. I hope it stays around!
Loved Aaron he was great, a little overstretched with multiple tables
Very awkward, only 3 other groups in the restaurant. Maybe if there are more people is would be great. Food & wine were on point. Need to serve more bread with apps but brought more out when asked.
Beckrew has a great wine list. And they offer flights of a varietal type and by geography. The food... not so good. Hummus was fine, roasted vegetable tower-skip it, meatballs-skip it. They must have been short handed because one person was handling everything and consequently the service was slow. So if you only care about the wine, this is your place.
Aaron provided us a wonderful wine tasting experience. He is so knowledgeable about wines. First wine tasting that I actually learned something. Highly recommend booking Aaron for private small group wine tasting event.
Excellent service. Our sommelier was very good. He suggested a few bottles and offered a taste, and the bottle was not the most expensive. The price was right. The charcuterie was perfect. We also ordered a flatbread & calamari. The only complaint I have is that the calamari was covered in cayenne pepper. I don’t remember the menu stating the calamari was spicy, but there was so much pepper that none of us could eat it. It was wasted. The ambience was great as usual.
Wine was great, food was great but seating was more casual and less romantic.
Great wine selection and service. The quality and selection of food has declined. Hope they improve their food menu soon!
Great Selection of wine. And very casual, but cozy environment.
Outstanding service! Great place - we had a group of 10 and wanted a place where we could chat without having to scream. Beckrew Wine House was perfect!
Great wine lidt, quiet, cozy place perfect for a date. Ask Virgilio for advice on wine
The food was good, the wine was good but a little pricey. We thought it was very odd, hardly anyone at all was here for a Friday night. There was a private event but aside from that group there was maybe a dozen people in the whole place. We would very likely go again.
The paella (brunch) was great and they had over 100 wines by the glass .
