Had a very good meal. I had the Osso Buco, which seems to be their signature dish. The spaetzle and charred onion were delicious and the pork was perfectly prepare. Went well with a 2013 Martin Ray Cab. My wife had the short ribs and a friend, the tender belly pork chop. Both were excellent. We started with a shared Duck Confit & Poached Pear - the parsnip puree was an outstanding counterpoint to the rich duck and the pears slight spiciness. We shared the brussel sprouts and marveled at the number of ways the menu works bacon into the menu.
Wine choices were very good, especially their "Secret" wine list and they were able to decant the Martin Ray to help it open up in the short time we were there. We had no room for dessert.
Now the down side. The music. Sundays are "acoustic" night, but the performer seemed to not know what acoustic meant, as she was definitely amplified. Concrete floors and open seating made it difficult to hear each other. Really folks. I go to dinner to eat, not to listen to music. I have a stereo at home, in my car, and in my pocket. I can get through a meal without it, especially when I have interesting people to talk to. Enough with the clattering restaurants.
One of our go-to favorites for lively ambiance and exceptional service. Two of us had the salmon for dinner. I found mine to be slightly over cooked for my taste, but still very good. Hubby thought his was perfect. The bed of grated vegetable "risotto" (beet, I believe) was okay, but nothing to swoon over. Friend said his pork chop was great; his wife loved her veggie entree. The brussels sprout appetizer with bacon was amazing. The Bonny Doone claret, recommended by our server, was excellent.
The service was top notch! Our waiter JC was on point the entire night. Of course the fresh food of local ingredients delights the palette, I tend to focus on the efficiency and genuine care by the staff and Beckett’s Table has some of the best!
The service , food and ambience were all outstanding!
It was my first time here and it didn’t disappoint. The food was phenomenal and the service was good too. I will definitely be back.
I love the shrimp and grits. The service was perfect as always.
Took my spouse here for Valentine's Day dinner. It was excellent! The service was very professional without being a pest. Great wine choices. Dinner started with soup for me and Brussel Sprouts for my wife. Soup flavors very good. Sprouts were cooked perfectly, not over done and soft. The entre was their scallop dish, again cooked just right. Topped off the meal with chocolate dessert. We were both happy with the meals we had and the service. We will be back again, even though it is a good 45 minutes from home.
Food was great and server, Rachel, was awesome too. Had a great Valentines spread and some good drinks.
Always special! The food is wonderful. Great service, ambiance. We were celebrating Valentine's day. Very romantic.
We have been to Beckett's Table many times, but the Valentine Menu was amazing! Beckett's Table never disappoints! Love that they made our fabulous dinner gluten free as well!
The food was awesome, me and my husband went for Valentines. He had the burger, and i had the short ribs- the burger was good, but the short ribs were awesome! Also, not on the menu but the fries are awesome- just ask your waitress/waiter for them. The only downside was that we sat at a 2-seater table on the back wall. Those specific tables are way too close together and the couple next to us were loud and obnoxious. We were basically all sitting at the same table. If you go ask to be seated at a 4 seater table.
Chef made special meal for a vegan guest. Excellent service.
Phoenix is overrun with restaurants, so much so it sometimes seems like there is one per capita. Beckett's Table is our absolute favorite. There is no warmer and more welcoming manager than Sari. The waitstaff is very good: competent without being cloying, very good at describing the food and recommending wines from what is an excellent list. Food fabulous. Best brussels sprouts. Great entrees - the short ribs are to die for, the scallops amazing, the green chile pork stew great comfort food. The tomato soup and cheese sandwich with pancetta appetizer is so good I sometimes drop by for that alone and an IPA and call it dinner. Prices are not cheap, but not so expensive that this cannot be your favorite neighborhood restaurant.
Excellent service, innovative cocktails. We had a vegan and a vegetarian in our group and the food options were very restrictive and nothing noteworthy. Most options on the entree list were pork based.
Took great care of the table for 12. Food was spot on, great server and cool menu.
The food and service was outstanding. Getting half off the bottle of wine was great.
We had out of town company and wanted really good food and some live music. The food was great, with some really creative dishes. Fresh food for all tastes. I had the Duck Confit with Poached Pear first. It was above and beyond my expectations and the description, with tender, shredded duck, pear, smoked cashew pickled grapes, parsnip purée and small dollop of duck fat mousse. Other apps were very good also. For the mains, I had Seared Organic Scottish Salmon, prepared perfectly and arranged with ginger coconut cream, saffron rice with carrot, spinach and peas. Delicious! My companions had Beckett’s Table Signature Fork Tender Short Ribs with creamy mashed potatoes, sautéed veggies, and red onion demi-glacé. Tender was exactly what it was, and very tasty. Another in our group had the Steamed Atlantic Cod - chef’s special preparation was an understatement. It was presented with steamed, sliced zucchini decoratively placed on top, with greens and other veggies. After such wonderful dinners, we might normally be too full for dessert, but the menu was so tempting, we had to taste a couple of them. The Award Winning Fig & Pecan Pie with Beckett’s original citrus zest cream cheese ice cream was the absolute best and will be remembered forever. Wonderful flavors, superb crumb crust. Very tasty and creative, not pretentious, friendly and welcoming. We will return soon. Wine list and other beverages were also very good.
The music that evening (Sunday) was provided by James Cowden, very nice acoustic guitar with good selection of music. We will love to see him again also.
The service was great! The food was good, but at that price point I would have expected great not just good. Overall it was a good experience.
The night started by trying to put us at the worse table in the restaurant despite reservations and only being 20% full. After we ordered our food came out in less than 5 minutes. I didn’t know we were at a fast food restaurant. The order wasn’t correct and the plate was burning hot.
I loved the wine selection and ambiance of the restaurant, but sadly our server was rude and didn’t seem like he cared about our experience whatsoever. Being in the service industry I try to be understanding but his rudeness and apathetic attitude were disappointing especially since it was our first time. My short rib dish was super salty but my date’s burger was delicious.
