We arrived after 8PM and many tables were available but the receptionist insisted to seat us at the smallest table in the room. Only when we decided not to dine at Becco they agreed to seat us at a better table. It was small but better than the previous one. Then we placed the orders and it took very long time to serve. Note that the restaurant was almost empty. This was my last time at this place

I was disappointed my chicken parm meal did not come with pasta. I must have missed that on the menu and you must have to order it separately. The service was excellent and the food was very good as well.

Very loud ambiance and limited menu. I was surprised they only had one true pasta dish - all the rest was meat. Highly specialized Italian cuisine. They did accommodate our requests.

Immediate seating, to a nice table upstairs. Only issues with table was close to other, but not intrusive, and close to outdoor balcony whose door kept opening & closing. Not really an issue, but if it had been week before with heat & humidity would've been bad. Service was excellent, especially the sommelier , who knew how to remove, filter and decant an almost 25 year old Bordeaux I brought. ( The waiter knew better, and handed it over to her). Waiter was very good, but I did ask the initial person for a glass of ice water, when we sat down. It never arrived. The fish of the day was Fluke, which was seasoned just right, and over a layer of mashed potatoes, a nice balance with the asparagus spears. My friends Veal Parm, in presentation looked great, as in the best i've ever seen. He enjoyed it. (I know that it might not have been the most tender veal, but they tenderized it! It was not veal loin, as it was a veal rib, on the bone, pounded flat and round). The accompanied salad was nice as well. We all choose not to have pasta, so I can't comment. The cheese cake at the end, was very light and moist, which was a pleasant surprise . Overall, on Restaurant Row, I was not expecting anything more than mediocre at best, especially as I am local, but was impressed and enjoyed the meal.

The 3 pasta special is always so wonderful. And the huge $35 wine list is very Impressive. Always there is such wonderful service. Had a new waiter, and Gabe was so good. Even with a packed crowd, you never had to worry with the attention being paid to the table. Again you must make advance reservations for this very popular restaurant. So due to this I love an early reservation.

Becco is always an enjoyable & satisfying dining experience located perfectly near Broadway to see a show! The unlimited trio of pastas are a hit at a value which includes a salad or antipasto starter. Becco’s Italian entrees are also tasty & authentically prepared. Seated nicely upstairs with a round table for 10 which allowed for nice conversation.

It’s not what it used to be. Crowded, noisy and nothing special. Very disappointed on a recent visit with my family. It’s really too bad because when this restaurant first opened it was something special.

Horrible experience. The appearance of the restaurant is lackluster, obviously has not been updated since it opened 20 years ago. The wait staff was inexperienced and rude. Manager was not helpful when we expressed our concerns. The pasta was flavorless and clearly came from a box. Had high hopes from the outward presence of Lidia and Joe Bastianich however it lacked in every regard. I would not chose to dine here again and would not recommend it to others.

Food allergy was identified in making reservation and as soon as we talked with the server. We ordered the pasta trio, but indicated we did not want the 'meat' sauce pasta as we don't eat veal. Server was very nice and said they would make something special. Thought that was great, however, they came out with linguine pesto with pine nuts. My daughter can't eat pine nuts as she's allergic. Understand the mistake, but saddened the food allergy wasn't considered or remembered. They sat a table of 3 literally on top of us, had to squeeze to get out when dinner was over. I don't think we will go back since there are so many other options for excellent Italian dining. I actually wouldn't recommend.

Not the same place anymore. Have been going to Becco for 10+ years. Everything about this years trip was disappointing. From the greeters/hostess, to the chaotic "team" approach toward servicing the table, we literally had no less than 10 people at our table over a 90 minute period. The food was underwhelming, their "3-pasta" chefs menu is drawing a bargain crowd. Heavily salted food, none of it impressive from the Veal and Chicken Parmesan, to the Tomato and Buffalo salad. When booking the reservation we indicated "special occasion" as it was for mine and my husbands birthday...no acknowledgement of any kind. Disappointing at best, because what was a special part of our annual trip to NYC, we will not return as there was no value for what we received.

Becco is centrally located in the theatre district which is why I assume it is so popular. The food however is basic at best with little to no flavor. Don’t fall for the all you can eat 3 pasta deal. The spaghetti was the only pasta worth eating, the gnocchi was a sheet pan of baked mashed potatoes and the last pasta was so bland i only had two bites. I would say for the price it is great for families before and after a show but for a good Italian meal look elsewhere.

Where should I start! From beginning to end the worst experience I have ever had. They sat us near the bus boy station where it was constant traffic and very loud. We order the 3 pastas with the Ceacers salads the orecchiette pasta was so loaded with garlic and the broccoli rabe was so hard. The pasta with with basil was supposed to be Al dente it was barely cooked, and the polenta cubes were tasteless. I think you should watch very carefully how the food comes out of the kitchen. And as far as the service, they were very rude and inattentive. A tourist TRAP! A very disappointed customer.

Very hot in 1st dining room. Between the 50 lights that were on and door opening for guests, our table was not temperature comfortable at all. Sit in the back dining room or upstairs. Service & food was good!

My husband had the pork chops and they were tender and delicious. My friend had the halibut special and she said it was very well prepared and terrific. I had the stuffed peppers with rigatoni. It was a full plate and was very tasty. I wished our waiter had attended to us better. He seemed like he had too many tables but the place wasn't terribly crowded. Overall , I would continue to eat there as I always do when visiting New York.

Becco is my go-to place for my pasta fix. But, plenty of other things one the menu are great, too. My husband always orders chicken parm. and I drool over everyone's Rosso buco, and I wish I could eat everything, but I always go back for the pasta. The $35 dollar wine bottles are very good. What's not to love?

We always go to Becco and when we are seeing a show on Broadway. Consistently good every single time. In the three pasta special is hard to resist. But even if you’re avoiding carbs, the place is fantastic.

I am so disappointed to write a negative review of Lydia’s iconic restaurant, Becco. I had been looking forward to surprising my (Italian American) girlfriend with reservations. My serious complaint has nothing to do with back-of the-house. The food was stellar. 5 stars. The problem is front of the house operations. Tables were crammed together, service was rushed/unsophisticated, servers were surly…I was mortified. My girlfriend and I have loved Lydia’s show, own many of her cookbooks, and think highly of her “brand.” Please, please fix the setup and train your front of house staff. Save for the bartender, they ruined what should have been a wonderful experience. I cannot recommend this restaurant and will not be back. NYC has plenty of wonderful restaurants where food, presentation snd service are stellar. Sadly, Becco is not one of them. :-(

I go to becco almost every time I go into the city to see a show the service is always great and the food is awesome !! I have ordered off the menu but I usually get the pasta specials which are always delicious !! If you want a great Italian meal I would highly recommend becco you won’t be sorry

Everything was outstanding, from service to food. I am heartbroken by the removal of the chocolate mousse cake from the menu, but the burrata and pork chop were perfection. Thank you!!

Dined here once before and got the Simfonie de Pasta (sp?). Loved it so much, I got it again. All three were delicious, but the rigatoni bolonaise was next level. I also love that they put olives on the table with the bread. Will definitely go back.
