Unlike prior visits. Upstairs room felt touristy. Distracted service. Crowded tables. Specials shared like a robo call
Seated in the bar area where tables were close and lots going on. This is NYC after all! Waiter was attentive and brought water, bread basket, olives and a lemony dip right away. Ordered one of their 31 dollar bottles of wine, a Sangiovese from Tuscany that was perfect with the food. We passed on the trio of pastas ( looked good) because it was late and ordered lemon chicken, stuffed peppers and polenta with speck. Positive reviews on all! Will go again!
We took customers here for dinner and we were not disappointed. The food and service were spot on.
Great food and service. A winner before a show. Been back many times. Excellent.
Went post-matinee with 7 girlfriends. The $25 Simfonia de Pasta (3 dishes) was delicious! The Wine List for $31 a bottle is unbeatable! Really great time!
Great place for pre/post theater dining. They have a lunch special that gets you in and out quickly.
I have had better experiences there. Service was very slow. It was this one particular waiter.
Let me say overall this place is great.....two downsides, we asked the waiter for $9 pasta plate you can add to your lunch and he said we could order only one. If only one person wants pasta I don’t see what the problem is, it’s not like it’s an unlimited dish or anything. The other thing is we were at the end of the service, ordered 4 coffees, we received the coffee but no sugar cream or spoons.... many patrons had left already and there was no waitstaff available, by the time someone came and brought the cream, the coffee was cold. These things are minor as our general service and food was terrific and this would not keep me from coming back here it was just a little annoying.
Everything was perfect, from the bread basket, stuffed peppers, salad and the fabulous fish
Great location in the theater area of NYC. As with anything in NY space is a premium. We were close but not cramped. A nice variety on the menu as well as the wine list. The meals were well proportioned as we were eating pre-theatre and didn’t want to be uncomfortable during the show. I was more traditional dining setting with sound buffering ( carpeting on the floor and fabric on the walls) so we could converse with each other.
The food was delicious, but our waiter was arrogant and made our experience less enjoyable!
The restaurants attention to detail was lacking. Our waiter did not come by often and I listed on Open Table that we were there for a special occasion. They never asked or acknowledged. My husband left something behind by accident and we had to wait 15 min or more for a cab and they did not try and find us. You know they turned the table over quickly. Food was good but disappointed in the service.
The restaurant is fairly typical for a Times Square restaurant, fairly crowded and noisy. All was well until a vent started dripping on my wife. The restaurant was slow to react, but did eventually move us to another table. They also comped us for the entire meal. They were a little slow, but did handle the situation professionally.
Fantastic professional and efficient staff. Great food. Excellent and reasonably priced wine choices. staff let us linger with no pressure regarding timing.
the sommelier was very knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. he had great recommendations for the wine
My husband and I enjoyed dinner here after seeing the Sunday matinee of Aladdin. We had a table for two upstairs that was not too close to other tables which was nice since the place was packed. I'm not sure if they weren't expecting to be that busy, but the service was rather slow. We didn't mind though since it gave us time to enjoy all of the food and not feel rushed. Our waitress did ask if we had a show to catch, so the service may have been quicker if we did. The bread and bean dip they gave at the beginning was delicious. We wanted to order the meatballs as an appetizer, but were told they ran out of them (not sure how that happens??) which was a disappointment. My husband had the cured filet appetizer and loved it and I had the complimentary Caesar salad. They have an extensive wine list with bottles priced at only $31! We shared a bottle of wine and both ordered specials they had that night. I had the braised short rib and he had the veal piccata - both were delicious. We did the middle course of pasta for $9 and loved the three styles they offered. We would definitely return!
Not happy with my table stuffed in corner no room.
Just a very nice menu. Service was good. Menu was explained to us. W We were a party of 4. Had a very pleasant time.
Food was excellent but disappointed because we were celebrating an engagement and two birthdays. Added to my OpenTable confirmation, talked to the seated to ensure they received the information and they did nothing. Mentioned it to the waiter post meal and was disappointed that nothing was done.
Our 3rd visit. Had veal chop for 3rd time. Was mediocre this time. Previous times were teriffic.
I have been impressed each time I have visited Becco with great food, and everytime I have celebrated an event, or eaten pre or post theatre.
Great place, the food was delicious. We had noon reservations for a large party of 11, the restaurant was open but wasn't seating anyone until 12pm. Since we were there to see a play and apparently many other people were there for the same reason this created a crowd in a small space waiting to be seated. Once seated the server was knowledgeable and attentive and the portions were perfect for a lunch meal.
Absolutely delicious meal and we had great service.
Excellent, old-fashioned service. Always a pleasure. Their zabaglione is the best ever. Food is high-quality. One of our favorites
Food and service was fantastic! Highly recommend!!!
We were celebrating our daughter’s 13th birthday and Becco is her favorite. She had a blast. The staff sang happy birthday to her. It was awesome. Thank you very much.
Food ;fine, but nothing great or special so that was a disappointment. Service was very attentive; in the end disappointed in the menu and the food. Just not creative enough. Pasta was just average.
After having a terrible meal at another Italian restaurant the previous day, I was really looking forward to Becco, and it did not disappoint. We were a group of six. Three had the lunch special (one appetizer and unlimited pasta for $20) and three had regular menu items. Every one of us was thrilled with our meal. Our server, David, was attentive and friendly, without being intrusive. I cannot wait to visit NYC again so that I can have another meal at Becco.
Third time we went here before seeing a show on Broadway. The "three pasta" special is always different; always a good choice. Great service at the table and from the kitchen. And we got to our theater in the perfect amount of time.
Will definitely visit here again. Food was excellent and service was so quick but never felt rushed. We were here before a show and went for the unlimited pasta. It was a good value and excellent taste. We will be here again.
Great spot for pre or post theatre. Our waiter was very attentive and in tune to our 2 pm show and made a point of asking, to ensure we were out in plenty of time. We actually had to chat and leisurely enjoy a great lunch. I have been to Becco before and never disappointed.
Excellent experience, excellent food, excellent spirits. Love Becco
We had a lovely lunch w/Wine ,food was great ,we had appetizers & lunch .Service was very good waitress was very nice & friendly .WAit time was spectacular, & we weren't rushed at all.
We would go again.
ask me if I want it another glass of wine or soda. You never told us about tonight’s specials. We heard them as you told them to the table next to us after after we placed our order. Your first line should be let me tell you about tonight’s specials. We had the arancini and well zero after tasting or eating arancini or supple in Italy for a week yours falls well below.
Good wine selection
Excellent antipasto de caldo
Excellent assortment of bread with olives and spread
Excellent Osso Bucco and stuffed peppers
We had a reservation for 6 at 8:00PM and were seated promptly. The waitress knew the specials and their ingredients off the top of her head. Very accommodating for my gluten free needs. Very happy with food, service, and ambiance. Recommend
Cozy atmosphere and phenomenal food. Not a place for a quite, private date night which is not a bad thing. Romantic food and close quarters let us get to know the strangers sitting next to us and we ended up having great conversation with people we’ve never met before. If that isn’t Italian spirit, then I don’t know what is!
We dine at Becco's every year. It is our favorite Italian restaurant in NYC. Great affordable wine list. Food always incredible. Service very good.
Food is amazing...good service and average pricing for Italian food in nyc
