Larry our server was above and beyond. He dealt with some obnoxious customers and kept a positive attitude and made our dinner a special evening. Larry was an integral part of our night and meal.

Of course the food was incredible as well

Great meal and service at Becco - we were a group of 14 and they handled us perfectly. The service was incredibly, the food was delicious, and the entire meal was so affordable. Would highly recommend Becco, especially for a large group. Thank you Becco!!

Love Becco..it's a fancy dining establishment, that doesn't break the bank. You can have a white tablecloth dinner with amazing food, amazing wine, amazing service, that does not burn a hole in your wallet. All bottle of wines are $29 (genius) so you don't have to stress about impressing that certain someone by spending a lot of money on a probably not so great bottle of wine. The tables are spaced out enough where you don't feel like you are eating with your neighbors. Highly recommend for all occasions. Quality food and service are what I look for when choosing restaurants and Becco goes above and beyond to make you feel like you're dining at a 5 star restaurant. Joe Bastianich, you are a culinary god and I cannot wait to return.

Food is good but service is becoming worse and worse. Waiters literally run, and rush to get you out ASAP. We had to remind our waiter to bring us the wine we had ordered ... and we never got it.

I ordered a Bellini and did not care for the taste. The waiter brought me a glass of wine instead. It was very good. Our waiter was covering a larger table and therefore I do not feel he was able to be attentive enough.

Becco was a great wine and dine night even with the theater crowd. Food was excellent and a huge selection of very good wine for $29 a bottle! Becco can be a little tight so be prepared to be friendly with the neighbors. If you are on this side of town it is a great choice for dinner.

Let me begin with the positives: ease of making a reservation through Open Table, receiving a phone call from Becco staff confirming reservation, being greeted warmly by gentleman at the door and reservationist.

The physical space and volume of noise is neither here or there for me. After all, the theatre district location and time of year all lend itself to a exciting and positive vibe.

I enjoyed the grilled salmon and brussel sprouts.

Unfortunately, that is where the positives end. My dinner guests were disappointed in their meals, although they were polite since it was my treat. How is it possible for a Caesar salad to be bland? There wasn’t any detection of anchovies or sharp cheese.

Also, I ordered appetizers for the table. We were 6 guests and I thought I made it understood that I wanted the order for 6. That did not happen. I believe the plate had a variety of items: clams casino, stuffed mushrooms and maybe other items. I don’t know because there weren’t 6 of each item on the platter. I never tasted anything since I wanted my guests to be served first.

Two guests ordered the triple pasta special. I tasted the pesto pasta and stuffed ravioli which were very under seasoned. I wasn’t able to detect any cheese in the pesto sauce; only basil and oil. Also, no cheese or red pepper were offered by our server. Although, we all enjoyed his sense of humor and decent service.

The chicken and veal parmigiana ordered by two other guests tasted like what you would get in any restaurant or diner. I expected so much more from a restaurant with an association with Lydia.

Another guest had lobster stuffed with fish and black ink spaghetti; again nothing special.

I had been looking forward to a fine dining experience for an entire month. It wasn’t fine or an experience; sadly it was a run of the mill restaurant. I am very disappointed.

Hopefully, you’ve read this email to this point; I needed to share my feelings.

The restaurant was way overbooked or did not say no to walk ins as the place was packed. Every spare inch of the restaurant had a table or people standing waiting for a table. The servers couldn't get through to the tables, so the service was slow. It was a mess and a huge fire hazard.

Sadly, very disappointing. I couldn't believe how many people had been squeezed into this restaurant. Surely exceeded any fire code standard. Food was an upscale Olive Garden. Nothing remarkable. Loud and crowded. I wanted it to be so much more. I like Lidia. I'm a fan of hers, but this was nothing special.

Generally good for our fourth visit. Meatballs were great. Hangar steak not so much. Pumpkin ravioli too sweet. Like new section upstairs.

A friend recommended BECCO restaurant for our after the show dinner. Restaurant has downstairs /upstairs seating. Food was very good and so were the prices, considering NYC location. The only part we didn't care for were the tables so close together. Other than that it was a pleasant experience.

We have been to Becco several times before, but this time we were a little disappointed in the service. Our group of four had 3 people ordering the pasta special and 1 order from the regular menu. The single order came out, but it was 20 minutes before any of pasta was served to the other 3. Just really strange, because we have never had bad service before. Other than that, we all had amazing food and the wine list was really great.

This was our second visit to Becco. Our first meal was incredible with service that was quick and attentive. Last night we came post-theatre. The service was absolutely horrible! We couldn’t get a glass of water for a while, although the restaurant was quiet. The couple next to us also waited a long time for drinks they ordered from the bar.
We did the pasta special. The linguine with clams was incredibly bland and the ravioli was over cooked. The farfalle was delicious—however, we couldn’t get anyone to bring us more. We were very disappointed, especially after having eaten such a fabulous meal there last time! I know for sure that your amazing owners would not have sent out those plates from your kitchen, nor would they accept such service in their establishments!

I had been to Becco before for a large group dinner and it was a wonderful experience. I took my husband back to experience the restaurant as a couple and after talking up the restaurant, I was disappointed. The room we were in was overcrowded, our main waiter was not attentive (although the rest of the wait staff was great), we were brought the wrong water, we were brought the wrong bottle of wine, our waiter could not remember if we had had our salad, servers tried to bring us the pasta trio course three times before we had plates. Our entrees were very good. Overall we felt over crowded and overlooked.

Good value and good food. Service was fairly good. Courteous and prompt.
But like most NYC venues, the restaurant suffers from the need to have high volume and tourists lap it up so no need for them to change. Tables are excessively close, upstairs dining rooms are very bland with no character or decor, and the emphasis is moving you in, servicing you and getting you out for the next customer. Little to no ambiance.

But food is good and prices reasonable for NYC.
BTW cost is $100 for dinner for two w/bottle of wine & tip.

We frequent this restaurant as often as we can when in NYC. We never had a bad meal. Not necessarily gourmet, but great food. They make a liver dish that you cannot get anywhere else in NYC. The bottle of wine for $29 is a great value especially for lunch. Highly recommended.

The wine list was extensive and good value. The food, authentic Italian, fegato vitello and peperoni ripieni was cooked to perfection and the zabaglione with berries was delicious. A complimentary insalata Cesare was served and there was an assortment of olives, grissini and breads with good flavour in the crust. The service was professional and efficient. The waiting staff were neither obsequious nor pushy but knowledgeable and friendly.

The place was very crowded and we had to wait a while (perhaps 10/15mins) for a table booked for 10pm. When we left at midnight the place was probably half full with diners slowly making their way like us.

Not the most expensive food we ate in NYC, but certainly the best.

We had high expectations prior to eating and ended the meal feeling underwhelmed. The good-29$ bottle of wine, salads, chicken and veal parmesan dinners. The sword fish dinner was just okay. The not so good--endless pasta plate--while the sauces had a nice flavor, each one was cold when it arrived. The server forgot our meatball appetizer that we ordered, and rarely stopped by to check on things, seemed overwhelmed. This place is exceptionally loud, very busy, and tight seating quarters--probably normal for NYC and theater areas, and part of this restaurants business model. They need to increase the standards for their service and food--Maybe if we tried them when they were not during their peak hours it would be better.

Very disappointing! The spaghetti had the texture of mush. The “ homemade “ Italian sausage was tasteless except for pepper. They advertise unlimited pasta, but after the first tasting of three , I waited 40 minutes after my request to try one of them again. They obviously discourage seconds. We were one of several tables that experienced this.
This is the worst dining experience I have ever had in New York!

Made our reservation a month ahead. Arrived and waited in the very crowded bar for half an hour. Were then escorted to a very crowded dining room with tables practically on top of each other. The three of us were seated at a table that was obviously a deuce. Two of us opted for the three pasta special. And another had the chicken Parmesan special. Pasta dinner came with a Caesar salad or antipasto, we chose one of each. The caesar was awful. I have never in my life had such a tasteless, watered down yet ridiculously spicy Caesar salad. I left my plate mostly full and it was taken away without comment. The antipasto looked like none I have ever seen. It had single bites of a variety of items that didn't seem to go together at all. The three pastas were spaghetti with tomato and basil, orecchiette with broccoli rabe and sausage, and semolina gnocchi. The spaghetti was over cooked and the sauce tasted like it came out of a jar. The orecchiette was undercooked and flavorless, the broccoli rabe was overdone and mushy, and the sausage was sliced so thin that it was dry and burnt tasting. I actually took it out of my mouth rather than swallow it. The "gnocchi" were large squat cylinders of polenta in a thin white sauce. Again my mostly untouched plate was taken away wordlessly. The chicken was boring. It was overfried in oil that was likely too hot and had the same horrible sauce as my spaghetti, and came with no side. No pasta, no vegetable, nothing. . We've had better at our local pizzeria. We then had Italian cheesecake and a gelato trio for dessert. The gelato was fine. Nothing special, just vanilla, chocolate and coffee flavors. This was sadly the best thing we had all night. The cheesecake was not awful but I've had lots of Italian cheesecakes and they were all better than this one. We spent $125 and left hungry. I have never in my life been so disappointed by a restaurant meal. Especially a restaurant that belongs to a celebrity chef. Lidia should be ashamed.
