Osso Buco alla Becco
Becco's signature braised veal shank with farro risotto tossed with green and goldbar zucchini
It was too noisy early in our visit but when some large groups left it improved. Hard to understand our server between a mask and his accent but we finally got information we were looking for
Overall a good experience. My short ribs were delicious
The food here is always incredible. The only reason it got 4 stars was for the service. The waiter only checked in once during the entire meal and walked away before asking if we wanted more drinks.
Becco is truly delicious. Every time I’m in Manhattan, I make sure to make time for Becco. As someone who is from Italy, Becco is as legit as it gets. The service is just as phenomenal as the cuisine.
The meal was delicious. The wait staff was attentive. We had an overall wonderful evening!
Our waiter was rude. Food was average. Not a good expensive
First, We have always sat upstairs on our previous visits. Sitting in the large front room bar area downstairs did not offer the same quaint experiences so our evening started out with disappointment. Then, My husband ordered his usual of the special three different endless pasta dishes. The waiter did not check with us to see how our meal was going, therefore, My husband finished his first round of the three dishes. We have never had to wait for any of the pasta servings in the past as the service has always been impeccable. The wait for an additional serving of the spaghetti became intolerable so we asked for our check and left.
The food was good and there was too much to eat. They serve 3 different types of pasta between the appetizer and the entree.
39th Wedding Anniversary
Great food great prices and service in the middle of Times Square
Absolutely amazing!! Our server was fabulous and the food was the most beautiful tasting ever!
Why is the service so bad in this place?
Second time in 3 months, different floors both time having waiters which go through the motions, but clearly do not care about the guests.
I clearly expected more.
Great food, and service every time we visit. Staff is very nice
Wonderful experience! Was recommended by our friends also in Northern California (we have no shortage of excellent restaurants)
I am originally from NYC. Born and raise. I used to go to Becco all the time at least once a month. I live in Massachusetts and he wants to come to NY for the weekend. A trip to NYC is nothing without dinner at Becco. We had the best time the best food the best service ever. 30 years for me and I plan to keep coming back always.
The service, cuisine and atmosphere has taken an unfortunate turn, since we last dined there in 2018. While we appreciated seeing people back out after the pandemic, the restaurant was overbooked, and the service was sub-par at best. It took 20 minutes for the waiter to take our drink order and once the main course was served, he didn't return except to drop the check. All three pastas were bland, as was the chicken milanese, and the room that we were seated in was just sad. I have such fond memories of the room to the left of the entrance (behind bar) on the ground-level. Very quaint and nicely decorated. However, the room where we were seated (up the back staircase just past kitchen) left much to be desired. An all around disappointment for an empty stomach and a hefty bill.
I would recommend the chicken and the seafood salad
Wwnt during restaurant week. They offer a very generous meal. Oir server was right out of central casting for an Italian restaurant— totally enjoyed his presentation of the menu. Great pasta selection. Excellent salmon. I would go back again!
It was just ok. The steak was good but really overpriced. The 3 pastas were nothing to brag about.
On my first trip back to NYC post pandemic I had to return to Becco, and I am so glad I did. The food and service were top notch, even better than I remembered. Do yourself a favor and come here for anything on the menu, you will not be disappointed. I had salad, the pasta trio, and salmon...everything was truly excellent as was my Bellini.
Wait staff was very attentive and helpful. Very courteous and genial. Food was excellent as usual. Always good eats and a good time. Highly recommend just for dinner or before a show. The earlier reservations the better. We went at 5 just as they opened and it was nice not too packed and no wait. If you like pasta check the website after 2pm the day of to see the chefs specialty pastas, you cannot go wrong with any of the food here
Becco is owned by Lydia and Joe Bastianich. Their dedication to the art of Italian cuisine is on full display here. In one sentence, this ain't no Olive Garden. This is as authentic as it gets.
It was Restaurant Week in NYC so we had the $39 three-course meal. We sat outside to take in the street scene on Restaurant Row.
My wife and I started with a Caesar salad that was fresh, crisp, and flavorful, as good as we've ever had anywhere.
Our second course was a mini version of their sampler of the chef's three pasta of the day. We received a traditional spaghetti with Sunday gravy, a rigatoni with a spectacularly flavorful Bolognese, and three artichoke ravioli that was, no question, the best of the three. Note that I called this a mini version of the sampler that they sell on the menu for $30. I could have had just this so-called mini version and walked away fully sated. I can't imagine what the full portion is like.
But there was the main still to come. I had a Chicken Milenese that was superb, and my wife had a pan seared salmon that was as perfect as it gets.
The staff was incredibly attentive, courteous, friendly and conversant, and worth every penny of the larger-than-usual tip I gave.
This restaurant is now officially my favorite restaurant in NYC, hands down.
If you go, I recommend the Chef's Three Pastas of the day. You will not be disappointed.
Initially leery of anything in the theater district, I was thrilled with the high quality food and service at Becco. We had a large party and service was top notch throughout. Even the two picky kids loved their pasta. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening!
Excellent food, service and outdoor dining on restaurant row. Tim, Jose and the chef were first rate! Incredible value on restaurant week!
Visited for NYC Restaurant week. We ordered from the restaurant week menu and the food was excellent. Had chicken with arugula and tomatoes with a vinaigrette which was very good and a unique dish. I believe chicken was breaded with panko. Was very thin which I love. I hate thick chicken breasts. We also ordered pork chops with assorted sweet peppers and hot peppers sauce. Very tender and juicy and also excellent. After salad appetizer had the pasta trio which was ravioli with artichoke, rigatoni in a meat sauce and spaghetti marinara. All very good. Price was excellent for the quality and quantity of food.
Great food, always fresh and prepared to our liking - excellent wait staff; best chicken parmigiana ever!!
Exceptional as always. Terrific food and people!!
Always a high quality meal.
My boyfriend and I went to dinner with another couple and when he and my friend’s husband both held up their cards to split the check the server only took my boyfriend’s. Obviously that put us in an awkward position where we had to pay for everything and couldn’t really afford to. Becco is normally my favorite restaurant, I have been a regular for over a decade, and I recommend it to everyone… but looks like we can’t return for awhile since we were forced to spend more than we could. I’m just not sure why the server did that, it’s very upsetting.
Celebrating my Mom’s 81st Birthday! Awesome food great service
The staff, the food and the place was excellent. I highly recommend the short rib.
As always food was very good, the bread!! I love the bread they serve. The table was ready when we arrived. The only thing the waiter wasn’t very friendly, took long time to take our order and when he came i stead of send the order to the kitchen, when to 2 more tables to do the same thing ( 1 of the tables it was a party of about 10 people) but over all it was a good experience
The food at Becco is excellent. Two of us had the three pasta medley, one had chicken and one had fish. All our meals were prepared and cooked to perfection. Service was outstanding. The waiter answered all of our questions and provided opinions
Perfect dinner from start to finish! 😀
A great place. Great food! Excellent drinks! My white peach martinis to die for.
Superb! Great food combined with exceptional service makes this a great choice for any event.
The place Never disappoints! The 3 pasta specials is such a wonderful deal. Last night was a great combination. The service is wonderful - such a friendly pleasant staff. They really make you feel appreciated for being there. Really recommend making reservations. It is a well deserved popular place. And the front of house when you arrive, are wonderful. The current management is THE BEST!!! A couple of years ago, that could not be said, especially of the female manager. The management and staff, do check with you to see how everything is. IMPRESSIVE is an understatement. I still miss the Desert Platter for 2 or... And looking forward when they start serving lunch and especially open on Monday & Tuesday. THANKS Becco you continue to get Better and NEVER DISAPPOINT!
Tried the restaurant week menu and wine pairing. So good! So many great tastes.
Lidia’s son needs to call his mom for help. I had to flag down someone just for my cocktail??????
Then we ordered and parties of 6 and 8 were seated and nobody came back to check on us?
The veal was mediocre- I can eat that in Virginia…..the pasta special BECCO is known for included excessively soft potato gnocchi. No desert because nobody came to get my wine order or our desert order…
Call mommy for help….we will not be returning ever.
It was fantastic the host
It used to be excellent, not anymore. We were looking forward for the pasta, salmon and their awesome cheesecake. The pasta was good, but the salmon and cheesecake were big disappointments, the salmon was very salty, and the cheesecake was just not the same, it had sandy texture. Expensive for what it offers.
