Not my style
We were seated on time and the waiter was polite and knowledgeable. The portions were generous but the food was ordinary. It needed more garlic and more shellfish.
The salad was good but skimpy. Only 3 tiny scallops in the shellfish pasta.
Food and atmosphere were superb! Pasta was pure heaven!! Our waiter was the best - very knowledgeable and so friendly. He made our dining experience at Becco memorable. We're looking forward to our next visit.
My friend and I had a lovely lunch at Becco before we attended a Broadway play. Everything was great...from the bread basket to the delicious pasta special, chicken dish to the dessert and cappucino. The waiters were very informative and extremely polite. A great value for lunch especially if you are attending a show! Can't wait to dine here again.
The pasta sampling is awesome! you can't beat the price of $20.95 for lunch with a salad.
Always an excellent experience at Becco. The Sinfonia di Paste is an excellent value, and so is the wine! All bottles are $33. While the restaurant was quite loud and busy, we were still able to have a conversation. The service was excellent, including both waiters & bussers. Would definitely return again and again.
It was great food great service and not so pricey for a ny restaurant. Very crowded glad I had reservation
Friendly wait staff. Pastas of the day, pulled pork, and calf’s liver were delicious! We dined upstairs at a table in a corner nook by the stairs, comfortable and homey feel. It was packed; the noise level was a little too loud for my mom to hear the waiter. This was my 2nd time dining at Becco and I’m definitely going back to sample other dishes. Awesome menu!
Always enjoy dining at Becco. Great meal, ambiance, service and value!
Food was outstanding! In town for a short visit and met up with a friend. Had the short rib special, which was absolutely delicious. I very rarely order meat but seeing it come to someone else’s table made me want to order it and I was not disappointed. The meat fell off the bone exactly as it should and it was cooked in a wonderful sauce. The vegetable was perfect as were the mashed potatoes...although skipped those carbs! The service was great..very attentive despite the large number of guests. If I had one “complaint” it would be that the tables are very tight, which leads to lots of people and it’s noisy. But if you get past that, the food is worth it. Definitely worth a visit.
The food and service were great. It was a Monday evening and was relatively uncrowded, so the noise level was low. It was overall a wonderful meal and experience.
The food was amazing!
We love going to Becco, but is chaotic when you arrive. No where to stand and wait except bar area - if you can get to it! People going in both directions to and from bar area. We got seated in a more quiet area of the restaurant and our server was wonderful. We love the pasta special. That night we felt the three selections were not as good as on previous visits and the antipasto plate a little skimpy. Caesar salad was very good and we had a wonderful bottle of wine from their $33. list - a great value.
The restaurant is hard to maneuver thru when crowded and guests line up for the small bathrooms. It is a different experience when not so crowded but feel they are "packing them in".
The food was not my worth it, first of all. My main issue was that the service was very poor and they hostess told me they were looking to turn tables quickly and that they needed our table by 6:30pm. We arrived at 5pm and thought that was plenty of time to eat and even told our waiter that we had a time limit. It was 6:15 and had just gotten our main course. As soon as we set our forks down, the waiter handed us our check. Not even a courtesy to ask if we were interested in dessert, more wine, coffee, etc. Typical, overhyped celebrity restaurant.
Fabulous evening, as always. Highly recommend!
We were looking forward to trying Becco on the recommendation of a friend who has been there several times. While service was excellent and ambience noisy but warm and pleasant, the food was disappointing. I had Veal Picatta which was tasty but I've better in restaurants in Westchester for half the price. My husband ordered a whole Branzino and had to send it back twice because it was under cooked. Perhaps the filet version of the fish would have been a better choice. Our Caesar salads were delicious. Our waiter was most accommodating and gracious. Many customers seemed to be having the Unlimited Pasta special which was a very good deal -- Caesar Salad plus unlimited servings of the 3 pastas of the day. I would recommend the restaurant with caveats.
Given that Becco is one of Lidia Bastianich's restaurants I had high hopes and reserved table for 5 for my boyfriend's mother's birthday.
Unfortunately, our service was so poor that it negatively impacted our experience overall. Our server was just awful. We waited 25 min before we were even asked for our drink orders, 30 or so before the bread came out. Another 15 min before we received our drinks. When she finally came back to take our food order, I had to ask her for the specials, which she rattled off so quickly no one could even understand her. She also changed our plates before we received our salad and when I mentioned to her that we didn't receive the salads yet, she came back and placed soaking wet plates angrily on the table.
The food was Olive Garden quality at best. Rice balls had zero flavor, pasta tasted like it was frozen at one point and not fresh. Needless to say we did not stay for dessert.
I seriously can't believe the that Lidia would put her name to this establishment. Very disappointed.
This used to be a place I enjoyed and recommended, but sadly I have to agree with the other reviews. It is now a super crowded tourist trap.
My husband and I brought our two children to the city for my sons birthday. My kids are well behaved and know how to act out to eat in a nice restaurant, I wish I could say the same for those waiting for their tables and the wait staff. We were shoved into a table near the bar were people were waiting (we had reservations) since it was so crowded everyone was squeezing by our table. For some reason they thought it was appropriate to keep sliding my son’s chair side to side to get through?!?! He couldn’t push in any further so they just kept sliding him. I’m sorry, but I think that is inappropriate.
Seat people only where there is room! We were paying for 4 guests, even if one of them was 7.
We will not be returning.
Food was very good ss usual
Made a reservation in advance...had to wait 20 minutes!! Looks like the plAce was overbooked? Food was okay, but service was terrible!! I think the waiter forgot about us?
Tables were a little close for six people...we felt bad for the server’s maneuvering around us. Besides that the ambiance, food and staff were fantastic!!!
It was phenomenal!!! Everything was wonderful! Thank you!
Our table upstairs was small, and they stuck us right near this step so that if I backed up my chair too far, I would have fallen over backwards. The server was not good He was not friendly, and sometimes we had to ask three times before he brought something. Overall service was very slow as well. Luckily we had a three o’clock show because it took us two and a half hours to get out of there. Food was good, but this isn’t the Becco I have grown so fond of.
Never disappointed by Becco!
This was my 3rd dinner at Becco and it has never failed to not be a great meal, a great value and a terrific location!
I usually live Becco, have visited many times. This visit we felt rushed, not at all appreciated, like something was just off.
This place is FAR too crowded and loud. What kink of restaurant puts a table between the two front doors.
Waiter was fake Italian and spoke far too fast to understand.
Slow it down and make the guest feel welcome...not rushed.
Food was satisfactory, but I was not wowed in any way.
It was crowded as usual But the hostesses for less than welcoming. Food and wait staff were great.
The food was amazing but our experience was ruined by the awful service. We ordered appetizers that never showed up and a bottle of wine that we had to remind our waiter about. He was hard to find and I had to find someone else to get are bill. It was too bad because the restaurant was cute and we loved our dinners.
Wonderful place to eat ! We love that all the bottles of wine are $33
Becco is our "go to" restaurant when we go to NYC to see a matinee. It is always delicious and service is always good.
Great spot- great atmosphere- friendly staff! Highly recommend!
Crowded....excellent wine and bread.
Limon chicken was so/so.
Lasgna Bolognase was very good. Overall....good time.
While I can appreciate the desire to serve as many individuals as possible the tightness within the restaurant almost borders on the ridiculous !!!
Best Italian in town. Well trained staff. They are crowed, however
Food was ok service was horrible. We waited way to long to just give our order
staff was amazing the you add the great wine at the great price offered and top it off with the great food wow can't wait to go back
Good pre show fun but food was poor.
I have dined here several times with child hood friends as we grew up with Executive chef Willy Gallagher. This was the first time I brought my wife and absolutely loved both the amazing food and overall dining experience.
The food here is fantastic, everything is well prepared and delicious. I have been here several times and it never disappoints.
