It was crowded as usual But the hostesses for less than welcoming. Food and wait staff were great.
Best Italian in town. Well trained staff. They are crowed, however
Food was ok service was horrible. We waited way to long to just give our order
Good pre show fun but food was poor.
I have dined here several times with child hood friends as we grew up with Executive chef Willy Gallagher. This was the first time I brought my wife and absolutely loved both the amazing food and overall dining experience.
The food here is fantastic, everything is well prepared and delicious. I have been here several times and it never disappoints.
Excellent value& food. A real find on Restaurant Row!
Went to Becco for a Pre-theater dinner. We’ve been to Becco many times as the food is good and the service is very professional so you don’t have to worry about being late to your show. Once again the food was very good but the service was off. They served our appetizer and salads at the same time. We asked that they hold off on the main course for 10 minutes but they brought it out immediately. We sent it back and once again asked them to hold for about 10 minutes. This time 40 minutes to get our main course. Needless to say we didn’t have time for color dessert. I hope it was just an off night.
We went for the pasta menu and the pasta was poor compare to other restaurants owned by Lidia
The experience was pretty awful: Overcrowded with tables on top of each other and so noisy you could barely hear anything the waiter was saying. We ordered the famous pasta sampler and all three pastas tasted awful. We couldn’t even figure out what one was...and ditto for patrons on either side of us. That said, the staff was very nice and when we complained the manager apologized and didn’t charge us for the food, only the wine. FYI: we noticed several people sending their food back.
Very noisy and cramped seating. Service was good. Veal wasn’t that tender. Pasta was good.
Wonderful and very accommodating. Excellent food and service
We were a party of seven and everyone loved the food they ordered.
This was our third time eating at Becco and we all can’t wait to come back for more delicious food!
Excellent food and service. Pre- theatre lunch. Perfect timing for a not too rushed meal. Waiter and service personnel courteous and attentive. Not our first time at this wonderful location and certainly not our last.
The food was delicious! We will definitely be back!
It was very good except I would have liked more choices for a lunch special - they only offered salad and pasta and was not useful for a calorie watcher
Becco is always a great go to in the city. You can’t beat the 3 pasta special and the price fixed wine bottle list.
Becco is fabulous! For a bite before or after a show; or just to get a nice meal, this restaurant is affordable and the quality is out of this world. It is busy, so the noise level Is a tad higher, but it won’t distract a conversation. The staff is attentive and considerate of time constraints. The food, however, will be the star of the experience - perfectly cooked! I can’t recommend this restaurant more!
Becca is our go-to when we are in NYC. Always a great experience! Great food, great service, very consistent quality, and a special “buzz” in the air. Love it!
Awesome food was wonderful and service was great
Becco is outstanding! The food is delicious and the pasta special u can’t beat!
The 3 pasta deal is a terrific value, and today's selections -- a shrimp risotto, a rigatoni pesto, and spaghetti with tomato -- were superb. I love the $33 wine list; try the Gavi.
I love the atmosphere; vibrant, alive, festive. It's a bit more quiet upstairs if you want quiet conversation. The staff are incredibly friendly. My stuffed peppers overs spinach spaetzle were terrific!!! I was disappointed in the pasta though. I've been here a few times over the years and the pasta was always great. This time, I brought a friend who ordered the all-you-can-eat trio pasta plate. The spinach lasagna was bland. The sausage orrechiette needed more spice. The spaghetti with tomato sauce was terrific though. Lidia's tomato sauce has always been the best I've ever had. I highly recommend this place. But I also recommend that they add a pasta dish other than the trio. I am betting they had an off night on pasta, and the rest was great. My friend loved the atmosphere too.
Excellent food and service.
It’s such a good place for groups. We wanted a nice Sunday night family dinner. I’ve been before and know the food is tasty and the price is right. It’s not that the service is bad, it’s just very unfriendly. From the hostess to our waiter - everybody made the group feel like a burden. It made us all uncomfortable. Will go elsewhere until morale improves.
Unfortunately we had to wait 30 mins for our table despite having made a reservation two weeks ago and then they cramped us into a very tight corner upstairs. They comped us appetizers and dessert but the delay was a major inconvenience to my elderly parents who had to stand near the bathrooms the entire wait.
We arrived on time for reservation, were told table was being cleaned, 20 minutes later table was still being cleaned. We said if it will be much longer we will have to go elsewhere, no problem. They said table was ready. We have eaten here many times, seated downstairs and loved it, we were seated upstairs, cafeteria like room, ordered drinks and dinner, dinner came, drinks still not served. I begged for a glass of water. Finely drinks arrived. Very disappointed.
Becco was fabulous! The service was excellent, as usual. I look forward to my next visit.
Food and service was over the top
Cold outside, and a cold air vent blowing directly on my seat.
Excellent service and food; prompt and made it to the theatre with time to spare !
The menu offers a great selection for all tastes. I had the salad with shrimp and it was small, but delicious. There were plenty of shrimp, but the salad itself was small, and it was listed under the entrees. If you get this, I would suggest ordering an appetizer as well. My dining companions all enjoyed their meals too. They had the pasta sinfonia, and the chicken over mushroom risotto, The wine and cocktails were also very good. Best of all was the bread basket, with several types of breads, including some delicious bread sticks. The restaurant is crowded and noisy, but that wasn't a problem for us. It's what you'd expect in the theater district. I will go back again.
Caesar salad mass produced, vegie served were mush and cold, caves liver chunk with grizzled, gelato with shreds of ice ( defrosted and refrozen)
We've been here several times over the years as we live locally. But boy have they reached the sad designation of tourist trap. From the specials presentation to the hasty service , the servers falling over each other to drop our plates off and the wet Caesar salad tasted and smelled like it was refrigerated past the point of return. Just disappointing ... e tu Lidia?
Our favorite restaurant to dine after a show! It wouldn’t be a complete trip to NYC without eating at Becco.
Incredible food and amazing service combined with a real pride of delivered value. We had an absolutely fantastic time, the service was impeccable, and it was the very best part of our trip to NYC. Ask to sit upstairs as it is MUCH quieter on the weekends, and less hustle/bustle. Countless wines priced at 33/bottle. This place is delivering what everyone wants....a real unique experience at a reasonable price.
Fun restaurant with excellent food and service. Tight seating, but still comfortable.
Enjoyed our experience and food so much that this time we brought guests. They were equally as pleased. The homemade pasta special is always a hit. We will definitely eat there again
The food was excellent and Micheal our waiter was absolutely great!
