The 3 pasta deal is a terrific value, and today's selections -- a shrimp risotto, a rigatoni pesto, and spaghetti with tomato -- were superb. I love the $33 wine list; try the Gavi.
It’s such a good place for groups. We wanted a nice Sunday night family dinner. I’ve been before and know the food is tasty and the price is right. It’s not that the service is bad, it’s just very unfriendly. From the hostess to our waiter - everybody made the group feel like a burden. It made us all uncomfortable. Will go elsewhere until morale improves.
We arrived on time for reservation, were told table was being cleaned, 20 minutes later table was still being cleaned. We said if it will be much longer we will have to go elsewhere, no problem. They said table was ready. We have eaten here many times, seated downstairs and loved it, we were seated upstairs, cafeteria like room, ordered drinks and dinner, dinner came, drinks still not served. I begged for a glass of water. Finely drinks arrived. Very disappointed.
Food and service was over the top
Excellent service and food; prompt and made it to the theatre with time to spare !
Caesar salad mass produced, vegie served were mush and cold, caves liver chunk with grizzled, gelato with shreds of ice ( defrosted and refrozen)
We've been here several times over the years as we live locally. But boy have they reached the sad designation of tourist trap. From the specials presentation to the hasty service , the servers falling over each other to drop our plates off and the wet Caesar salad tasted and smelled like it was refrigerated past the point of return. Just disappointing ... e tu Lidia?
Our favorite restaurant to dine after a show! It wouldn’t be a complete trip to NYC without eating at Becco.
Incredible food and amazing service combined with a real pride of delivered value. We had an absolutely fantastic time, the service was impeccable, and it was the very best part of our trip to NYC. Ask to sit upstairs as it is MUCH quieter on the weekends, and less hustle/bustle. Countless wines priced at 33/bottle. This place is delivering what everyone wants....a real unique experience at a reasonable price.
Fun restaurant with excellent food and service. Tight seating, but still comfortable.
The food was excellent and Micheal our waiter was absolutely great!
I do not review dining experiences but this was so terrible that I feel compelled. We arrive at 6:15 for a 6:15 reservation and were met with total chaos - crowds of people, no where to wait, a complete train wreck. When we finally got seated we were rushed through a highly mediocre dinner. Just awful in every way. Avoid at all costs - Lidia should be ashamed.
Great pre-theatre option. The staff are quick to get you in and out if needed. Chicken and mushroom risotto was a hit. Chicken parm was HUGE. Pasta obviously incredible. Go here. But make a reservation because it was insanely crowded.
As usual we had a great time. Since we were more than 6 people we had the meal for $40 per person. It included the Caesar salad, antipasto misto, the three pastas, hangar steak, chicken dish, swordfish and dessert. It was great and our waiter was the best!!
We had a great lunch there before the show.
Nothing to say. Dishes need to be updated. Lots of scratchers
One of my favorite NYC restaurants- will go again definately
Birthday dinner before a show.
Becco was wonderful! Our waiter had a large party in our area plus others. At first I was concerned that we would have a long wait for everything. Allen (?) was on top of everything & did a great job! We were out in plenty of time for our show & well sated for the afternoon! Delicious!
Simply the perfect New York meal!!!!
The food superb. Timing and pace and cost of meal were optimal.
Gary was a lovely perfect server.
Our server (Alan) was excellent! My wife especially enjoyed the Branzino. The rest of us enjoyed the pasta special. We took advantage of one of the $33 bottles of wine. Our guests ordered the cheesecake - and were very happy with it.
Becco is a great place to have dinner with friends. The food is wonderful. The pasta special and the whole fish are my favorites. They have a list of very good Italian wines for $33. If you are going to the Theater reserve early. If you can arrive after 8pm it is much more mellow. The service is great, very friendly and helpful.
Becco is our go-to place whenever we visit Manhattan. It's great for couples, friends, and families -- including children who like pasta!
Never disappoints. Love it here, service and g6ood top notch!
Very good food , great service and value as usual-great job! Thank you!
It is Always good. Very affordable. Great place
We had a very nice dinner at Becco. I asked for a quieter spot when I made our reservations and they obliged. We were in the back room where the noise level was very tolerable. The food was very good. Especially good was the rigatoni, and the lamb chops. They have a very good price on bottles of Lidia’s wine, and the wine was excellent. All in all, our best dinner in NY. Will definitely eat there again.
Nice place still but very loud and recalled the pasta to be better
Authentic, delicious, cognizant of our time constraint attending a show.
What a great Pre-Theater experience! As visitor in the Big Apple, Becco was the perfect spot to dine before going to a show. The food was outstanding and the vibe fun and lively. My compliments to the chef and owner.
Birthday dinner. Cramped seating mediocre food, which some food was very cold when served. Good service.
Great meal. Ordered the 3-pasta dish. They came out with a big bowl of Caesar salad to start and then kept returning with each of the pastas to see if we wanted more. Lots of fun.
The homemade pasta special was excellent. 3 pastas and salad for $25. We also had a bottle of Montepulciano for $33. I had the salmon over Brussels sprouts which was cooked to perfection. We had the dessert sampler of 4 different desserts. The panna Cota and mouse cake are really delicious.
We were able to make our show at 8 pm without any problems.
Husband and I enjoyed our meals prior to the theatre.
Always a great experience. Food is authentic and tasty!
Great pretheatre spot. Had nice table for 6 in alcove. Very pleasant. Great food and service.
This is my second visit to Becco and it’s just as amazing as I remembered. Service is outstanding and the food is fabulous.
We ordered a bunch of small plates. Ceasar dressing was delicious but Lettuce edges were brown. Aracini had an odd after taste like maybe the oil it was fried in was bad. I would give it a second chance. They are know for their pasta dishes which I’ll order next time.
Very affordable for a meal before a matinee. Pasta was great as was the salad.
