   Sadly the chef was off and only offering platters (which we were informed of) but my daughter was down from Sydney and we were keen to try regardless. The Plant platter was underwhelming with no pickled vegetables as stated on menu, sardines from a can is ok but not for $19.

   Unfortunately we had a terrible time at Bec Hardy Wines. We had ordered the set menu and waited over 2 hours for a very small starter and even smaller main course. As we wanted to visit other wineries, we gave up on waiting for our dessert. We left hungry and really disappointed. We also found the service staff to be quite rude - for example, it was made clear to us that we were expected to pour our own wine. We’ve been patrons of both Geoff and Bec Hardy wines for a long time now and want to support SA businesses. However, this lunch left a lot to be desired.

   Hi Marie. Sincere apologies at the nature of your experience. Clearly, your experience falls well short of the high standards we set ourselves. It is also not reflective of the broader experience of reviewers over time with a 4.8 rating from 107 Google reviews. That said, we are only as good as our last service and clearly yours was not up to scratch. The menu between Christmas and New Year was a departure from our standard 'Feed Me' menu due to availability of suppliers and I have asked for a review of the portion sizes from Chef. In respect of service, there may be a misunderstanding here. Clearly, you are not expected to por your own wine. There are, however, some younger members of the team who are under 18 and legally not able to serve wine. I will reach out to you direct.

   My partner and I had the most beautiful experience that Bec Hardy Wines. The service was 10/10. The two ladies that attended to us were spectacular and the chef was amazing. Went to celebrate our anniversary and they definitely made it memorable. We will definitely be going back.

   Lunch was so lovely I went back the following weekend. The feed me menu (which I understand is relatively new) is innovative and care has clearly gone into the sourcing of ingredients and creation of the dishes. The main (Mignon of Braised Lamb Shoulder) was the best dish I have had in recent memory. Service is also excellent (perfect combination of attentive but relaxed), as are the wines (of course). The venue and service style would suit both smaller and larger groups. I will be back!

   We had a lovely lunch at Bec Hardy. The service was excellent and attentive. Sitting on the deck in the filtered sun over looking the vineyard sipping great wine - life doesn't get much better

   Thanks Brian for the kind review. So many cellar doors and tasting rooms these days are a little disconnected from the vines or close to a main road. Tucked away in a quiet corner surrounded by vines and the sounds of nature does, as you say, not get much better.    Lovely fresh and varied grazing platters. Beautiful location. Relaxed atmosphere. Well priced. Recommended.

   So excited to stumble across this Beauty of a winery and superb restaurant. Of all our travels far and wide to find a beautiful Rosé in a stunning setting complimented by a appetising menu which delivered in spades, pork belly omg! It’s a must!!

   We came to McLaren Vale from Qld to enjoy the food and wine. After seeing a review of the restaurant at Bec Hardy Wines, decided to book to be sure of a nice lunch. The food was spectacular! The restaurant is in the barn next to the tasting room and I was concerned it would be cold - but gas heaters were nearby and the view through the door of the vineyards was worth it. We shared both entrees and mains and all four dishes were beautiful. Jackson from Utah was an attentive but not intrusive waiter. We were able to purchase some of the lovely wines we tasted afterwards in the tasting room.

   Hi Debbie. Thanks Debbie for choosing The Kitchen at Bec Hardy for your visit from QLD. I will be sure to pass your feedback on to Chef and Jackson. Bec and I frequently eat at The Kitchen to taste the menu but equally to test the ambience, service and comfort levels. There are plenty of gas heaters for the cooler months and on clement days the fire pit will also be fired up. Hope to see you at the Brisbane Good Food & Wine Show next year!

   Lovely last minute tasting and lunch. Staff all very helpful and attentive, made us feel relaxed and now wanting to return
