From the team behind The Stanton Social comes Beauty & Essex, a grand 10,000 square foot restaurant, bar, & lounge in the heart of the lower east side.

The atmosphere of the space is both grand and intimate, moody and effervescent. Various rooms for lounging and dining unfold on two floors, like a large turn-of-the-century townhouse. Each room has its own unique elements that celebrate timeless jewelry designs and upscale jewelry stores.

The cuisine is multi-ethnic in inspiration, casually elegant, and designed for sharing at the table among friends and family. Where the Stanton Social"s menu is Chef Chris Santos' take on cocktail party classics and street foods from across the globe, Beauty & Essex is rooted in a bold bistro direction focusing on the reinvention of modern family style dining that is both whimsical and sophisticated.

Gorgeous restaurant and great atmosphere. Perfect to impress out of towners. Food and service is OK. Better to eat here on someone else’s dime.

This is a very unassuming place from the outside but the restaurant inside is very nice. Food and drinks were excellent. Definitely a little pricey but worth it!

"Must hit" list for NYC. This place makes for a very interesting dining experience. The food is fantastic and the setting is completely unique and inviting. One of the only downsides is the hefty price tag considering having not ordered anything exotic. The other issue is if you are trying to have a conversation, one simply must shout to get your point heard. That being said, it made for a very authentic NYC experience.

Walked through the pawn shop to the restaurant. Packed with people- fire hazard galore (people blocking staircase). Sat down and ordered. Food presentation and the taste was amazing. My sister ordered surf and turf and boy was it the smallest portion ever. I had wasabi tuna and it was amazing. had two cocktrails. disappointed in desserts- nothing special.

Arrogance without a scrap of substance. The food was TERRIBLE, classic cocktails made incorrectly, the majority of the staff need even basic customer service training - rude.

AVOID. New York has so much more to offer.

Unique venue, menu and service. Food was excellent. It was very, very crowded and loud. For our dining, conversation was hampered and therefore limited because of the DJ music and overall din.
