Beauty & Essex - Los Angeles

Loved it! Great service and very cool vibe! We've been the the Vegas location a few times and LA is just as good!
I thought the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was good. The only thing that kinda threw me off was the hostess. When we arrive they didn’t seem very friendly and didn’t make me or my party feel welcome. One the the girls that checked us in wasn’t welcoming, when that happened a second hosstess noticed and stepped in and was smiling and had more energy in order to make and my party feel more. She wasn’t being accommodating when I let her know I was still missing 2 people from my party. Other then that it was good but it did through me off from the moment we stepped in. I have worked in a 5 star restaurant in the past and have an understanding on how hostess should treat guest.
I came to Beauty & Essex with a small group of girlfriends to celebrate our birthdays. The setting was spectacular and the service even better. The place has a great lively and fun vibe. We were well treated in both the dining room and at the bars. The DJ was spinning so great tunes.
My compliant is how the food comes out of the kitchen. The appetizer course came out at the same time but the entree dishes didn't (and in all fairness, our server did disclose this would be the case) but still we were almost finished with our entrees and one of our party's entree didn't arrive. (They did make it right and not charge us, but still...) I had to send back the zuccini pasta dish because the dish was lukewarm, not heated throughout. The kale and apple salad was one of the best kale salads I've ever had and the roasted chicken was sublime. The chocolate cake and donuts were also a hit. I would recommend this place and plan to return.
First time dining and we truly enjoyed everything and would not hesitate to come back. You need to open a restaurant in San Francisco!
Great place for interesting and delicious small plates to share. And, cocktails list was also on point. Don’t drive up to LA often, but would endure the traffic for a return trip to Beauty!
Everything was amazing! Service was excellent!
We felt rushed. Seems like all staff were told to just move people through. I enjoyed my Thanksgiving meal so much last year when it wasn’t price fixed. Even though I don’t mind the price, the service diminished.
Our first two rounds were lukewarm: tomato soup dumplings and shrimp.
Our server was really nice.
I can't explain it just know that everything was great!!! From entrance down to the desert all was great
Our first visit to Beauty & Essex was for Thanksgiving, with an amazing 5 course Prix-Fixe menu. The food was outstanding, service was excellent and they were very accommodating to dietary restrictions. I would definitely return for any holiday or just a lovely dinner.
It was my first time there and it did not disappoint. It was a birthday dinner to remember!
the service was amazing, wish I could remember the waiter name , but we got seated in the patio area versus a booth I requested. We went with the flow, there is always next time. But the food was excellent - I had the salmon , my guest had the scallops we shared the apple and kale salad. 1st time there from the time we checked in our reservations to the time we sat and was given a tour of the beautiful restaurant was more than I could have asked for. already told several people about this gem. Thank you for making my guest feel special for their Birthday!
The entire meal and service was amazing
Impeccable service, outstanding food and cocktails. The grilled cheese and tomatoes soup and the Mexican wild corn ravioli knocked it out of the park. One of my favorite restaurants in LA!!
Food and ambiance were fantastic!
Loved my experience here. Made reservations for a last minute dinner at 8pm on a Saturday night. My bestie and I arrived and we were seated right away. The staff was so lovely and we had two servers. The manager came out to apologize that our food was taking a little longer and brought us a dish on the house. Just a lovely experience all around.
We knew about Beauty & Essex from NY. Decided yo try this one in LA. So happy we did. Everything was excellent! Food delicious, service great, atmosphere electrifying!
GNO....so we ordered and drank A LOT. Apps were great but very small portions. Also salmon tasted a bit funny to my friend but they swapped it out for the Thai shrimp and she absolutely loved it! One of my girlfriend and I had the filet and it was phenomenal! My other friend had the ribeye which was also amazing! If you go, definitely do the steak! Seasoned and Cooked to perfection! Great ambiance/vibe. Super trendy. I’ve recommended several clients for dinner and they all came back thanking me for the reco!
It was a birthday celebration for our son and it was terrific!
Awesome place with great ambiance. Definitely boujie ans upscale. Classy and trendy - recommended for special occasions, date night or fancy girls night. Great food and location.
Food and drink mediocre compared to high prices . Service was great however .
Every dish is so delicious and artfully prepared. I love tapas where I can try a little of everything. Service was impeccable too. Love Vegas and LA location - now I’ve been to both! - Erica (The Beautiful Next)
The dining room is absolutely beautiful (think the inside of a music box) . The service is exceptional and the food was delicious. The entire dining experience was memorable for all the right reason. Thank you!
Great food, and great service!
Excellent ambiance, food and service. Staff was very attentive and the food was very good but we had reservations at 6:30 and they said we'd have to wait so they sent us to the bar. We ordered 2 margaritas and they charged $42 for both! That was just too expensive for 2 drinks! Beautiful place though!
Beautiful place, great food, great drinks and my servers were extremely nice. It’s officially My new spot
Beautifully elegant yet modern, i ordered the lamb chops, they were delicious. Must go!!!
This restaurant is very sexy. The lights are dim and the ceilings go on forever. It has a swanky Vegas vibe. The food is pretty good but not great. It’s all the about the ambiance and location.
One of the best date night restaurants in Los Angeles with extremely sexy food and drinks and delish too.
30 minutes of waiting for our table killed the vibe and made us late to another party. Food and service are really good tho. Small portions but delicious. Apparently B&E is super noisy and not suitable for discussions over the dinner.
Absolutely outstanding from top to bottom. Our server Alexis was nothing short of spectacular. Arguably one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I’ve been to the B&E in Vegas and this location did not disappoint. Thanks for a wonderful evening.
Love the Beauty & Essex before going to a Pantages production. The menu is eclectic and has many pescatarian/vegetarian options for our dietary needs. So much fun to order a variety of the small plates and share. The empanadas, crudo, mushrooms are all exceptional! Interesting cocktails as well. Servers are very attentive. Definitely a great restaurant no to be missed!
Had a reservation for 10:30 but wasn’t sat until 11:15. They gave us a complimentary round of drinks which made up for that. Our server Jordan talked a good game. Did a great job giving us suggestions and all until he disappeared. We waited over 30 minutes for him to come take our order, he didn’t even bring us water. We had to flag a busser down to get him for us. The food was okay, made up a bit for everything else that was wrong. Overall I would go back but definitely at a different time of the evening.
Been there to celebrate a birthday. It was nice, the ambience is amazing. Although, we ordered 2 different wines and they had rub out of both. Had to choose a 3rd one. The girl taking care of our table was apathic.
The staff is what made the experience, super friendly and accommodating. We arrived later than the grace period but they still held our table. Our server was great, explained everything to us being that is was our first time there. Ambience was great, decor was great. The food was good but not great, I enjoyed the appetizers better than the main dishes. We were told that we had to release our table at a certain time but it was a party of 4 so not that big of a deal.
Good tapas experience
My first experience was years ago and I absolutely loved it. This time the script was completely flipped and I left with a bad taste in my mouth. The hostess sat us in the pearl room/bar. I asked to be moved and was met with, “but the DJ is right here!” Uh... I was there for dinner and ambiance, not a DJ and a din of noise. Next, the food was lack luster. Everything had a ton of pepper- from the broccolini to the crust on my filet. The noise level was absurd and eventually pushed us out the door before we could even consider desert. What was supposed to be a classy night out quickly turned to a dining experience that grated our nerves. So much for a pleasant birthday dinner on vacation...
The food was delicious....... the service was horrible.n they kept trying to rush us. They put the dessert menu on the table and reminded us it was there when we were not even halfway through our dinber.
The busboy came and tried to clear our plates while we were still eating. All in all, not a v. Good experienxe.
