My girlfriend, and I came here for the first time on our date night we had arrived to a reservation on time, and we were seated in the corner by the kitchen, which I don’t recommend sitting by. Our waiter took our order for drinks and didn’t see him again for 30 minutes then I had requested to change tables and the manager was nice enough to move us, I explained to him there was too much traffic from the kitchen coming in and out by my seat, and that I was bumped a few times. We’re at our new table and another 15 minutes ago by our waiter finally checks in with us and said he’ll go check on our drinks another 20 minutes goes by and still no drinks and no service from our waiter asking if we wanted to order food so I had to stop a random waitress to let them know we’d like to cancel our order and we were leaving. Very poor service, and as a first time customer very disappointed.

I always like an upbeat atmosphere at a restaurant - love to be around people, and never like it too quiet. This restaurant was TOO upbeat- meaning super loud! They play music loud and it's hard to talk to your friends at the table. Some of the food was good - however, my sister and I both ordered Filet Mignon and it was tough (they took it off our bill, which we thought was nice). I don't eat oysters, but my daughter said they were the bomb. Love the bread and butter, and loved the side of polenta!

Me and my guest arrived at Beauty & Essex Restaurant on time. We were greeted by the hosts and made aware we would have to go upstairs to the bar and wait for a table to be available. I thought the whole point of paying for reservations was to be able to reserve your seats at specified times but gain I couldn’t be wrong, thing was my first time serving with open table. I was very displeased at how I had to keep checking in with the host about said reservation, had I not they seem to have completely forgotten about my reservations and they were close to closing soon. The ambiance and music was wonderful, the pasta dish I ordered was average and the salad had bacon in it, that I was unaware of being a vegetarian. Overall, I think the menu should be a little more inclusive to people who are vegans, I would come back perhaps Thanksgiving was a bit overwhelming and not their best day.

We PREPAID for the Thanksgiving experience, we had no other plans and were counting on this restaurant to have a nice Thanksgiving meal. After they’ve seated us they informed us that they ran out of turkeys! The other food options were extremely limited and not very great. Noise level was absurd. Drinks weren’t great either. Overall very bad experience.

So we reserved Turkey experience on Thanksgiving and went early. Then we’re told the Turkey were sold out. Then we went for steak and told the steak was out too. Ended up with Lamb. The lady who served us was nice. But definitely something was missed at management.

Ran out of turkey at 7pm on thanksgiving ! Then given a gluten free meal and ordered chicken or Branzino to be told they don’t have either. Have been many times but this visit was a flop.

Honestly, one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I planned a special night out with my husband for Beauty & Essex’s thanksigving dinner. Our reservation was at 7, which is also the same time they ran out of all of their Thanksgiving food. I should have clocked the red flags early on. We ordered all the food and drinks at once and soon after they brought us our drinks and a cold bowl of mashed potatoes… because everyone wants a bowl of mashed potato’s and nothing else to go with their martinis. Then nothing else came out for over a hour (including the wine list, which we asked for 2 times). It was some of the worst planning done by a restaurant for a night they planned as “special experience”. I can only imagine how mad everyone else was that came later in the night. I will never be going back.

I absolutely love this place. My second time around. First time I was short of time since I was running late for a concert but this time we had some friends over from Australia and took them here for dinner and got to enjoy the ambience more. The service is fantastic! The staff is friendly and funny! The food is out of this world. The kale salad WOW WOW WEE!! Also the Lamb and polenta. Delicious!! Our friends were so impressed with the quality of the food and the place in general. For sure will be back again soon! Thanks Beauty and Essex for making our dinning experience a religious one! ❤️

Beautiful decor! The restaurant is absolutely stunning. We had excellent customer service from our waiter to everyone that stopped by our table. We had the mac n cheese, tomato soup with grilled cheese croutons, corn ravioli, spinach pasta, and taco! Highly recommend everything!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Beauty and Essex. We spent a bit of time in the lounge/bar area and the bartender Ranae was very attentive and conversant. The drink we requested was perfect. Once in the restaurant Amiah was our server who was not only very attentive she was excellent at directing the flow of food. We noted that we had to leave by a certain time and found that she had entered that into their system. She was excellent at describing the dishes we ordered as well as the history of the restaurant.

My fiancé and I came here to celebrate her birthday. The whole experience was great over all. The only thing we will do differently when we come again (we will visit again) is to pass on the Farris Wheel dessert. The concept is awesome but honesty the dessert assortment in the Wheel was about like buying pastries form a grocery store and filling the baskets 😕. Other than that, the food was amazing and the service and atmosphere were both top notch.

When we got there the server was attentive and very sweet and even told another server that they had our table. Throughout the night he just kept dismissing our table and we didn’t even get a dish because they said the “machine broke out” even though people came after us and got the same dish. We were waiting for 30 minutes until we said something and they magically said it would take 10 min. We cancelled the order. The other server took care of us and the main server noticed so he started engaging more even though it was to late. Not even a sorry from the main server. Food was good just wish we had tried our other food.

Wonderful meal with service to match! It’s all shared plates, including entrees, and we loved every one (and we ordered plenty): mini French dips, grilled cheese dumplings, kale apple salad, petit filet, heirloom carrots, all full of flavor and beautifully presented. Finally, we splurged on their Ferris Wheel of desserts - do it and take home the leftovers, it’s worth it!

This was a really great experience. I went to have dinner with my boss, and from the minute we walked into our tables we were greeted, and everyone was nice. Our server wise, I believe his name is, Derek. He was awesome. Thank you so much for the great experience.

Honestly, I was really put off by the fact that I called the restaurant easily 10 times to verify the details of the reservation for my mom’s 70th birthday. But once we got there, our server Jimmy was FABULOUS and took care of everything! And was just genuinely a kind soul. Ask for Jimmy! He’s wonderful!

We went into beauty and Essex with the intentions of enjoying our food while getting a taste of the LA dining experience. After being seated and ordering we noticed our waiter was actively avoiding our table, failed to bring us one of our entrees, and neglected constant table side service. Extremely disappointed and will probably not recommend this place for a girls night out or enjoying a meal.

The food was AMAZING. My husband and I both felt it was the best meal we’ve ever had. It was quite noisy, not the best acoustics. The service was perfect. We had indicated that we were there for our Anniversary when we made our reservation and the front desk and our server both said Happy Anniversary and they brought desserts with that written in chocolate and a candle. Very thoughtful.

Everything was excellent. Seated right away. Waitress was on point attending to our every need. The food was amazing even the salad. Cocktails were strong but flavorful and pleasing to the eye. Our overall experience was a 15 out of 10! We will be back!
