Portions are very very small. One dish had 5 bites less than an inch square each for $19.
Hostess took us to our table through a wait staff meeting.
Dining room was empty and we were seated next to the service door that banged shut every time staff went through.
Wait staff was very nice and helpful.
Amazing service and surprisingly the food was delicious! It’s not particularly affordable but I would return for a special occasion!
This is a great restaurant! The ambiance and food was delicious for my 41st birthday. The only thing I didn't like was the bouncer or doorman taking tips from those without vaccination cards. I recently moved to AZ and didn't think to check on the current rules in place for CA. Well... you must have a vaccination card or tip the guy before entry into the pawn shop! I think that information should be listed on the site when making reservation through open table.
Everything was so nice. Food was so good
Came here with a group of 12 and had the best time! The waitress was fantastic and so helpful in deciding what to order. Service was fast and so accommodating. Ambiance was beautiful and noise level was pretty decent, but nothing we couldn’t talk over. The entire party was vegetarian and there was an abundance of options. Everything was delicious. Overall such a lovely evening. No complaints - can’t wait to be back!
Delicious food, amazing ambiance, expensive LA prices
Pretty good for Los Angeles quality dining. B&E Las Vegas had less than dazzling reviews so I was a little skeptical to book at the LA location. With that being said we had an amazing time here and it met its expectations. The food was amazing as well as the ambiance. Service was slightly slow but nothing to complain about during these times. Drinks were brought out quickly as well as food but water was not refilled
The food was exceptional! My favorite items were the Thai shrimp and the tuna tacos, soooo good! The dessert was mediocre I must say, but the presentation was nice. Drinks were good, ambiance was good, service was good, music was decent. Prices were reasonable. Would certainly go back.
Great food and ambiance. Playlist seemed to have a late 90s and early 2000s hip hop and r&b vibe. Food was delicious, featuring large plates to share and smaller plates that offer bite sized portions. Our favorite was the street corn ravioli. Sky was our server and she was outstanding!!! Highly recommend this restaurant for the interesting menu, great service and fun atmosphere.
Family party of 6 and it was Easily $130pp and meals were just “ok”. Not my first visit here, I know they can do much better then this. I love the ambiance, It’s a beautiful place to go. Wasn’t worth it tonight, wanted a break from hosting and cooking, this wasn’t it.
If it was my first time, would have been my last.
The restaurant is beautiful but the pork we had was extremely fatty and the portions aren’t that great compared to the price. Once again, every inch of the restaurant is stunning, even the bathroom
Food came within 5 minutes of ordering, water and soft drinks were forgotten about until we reminded the team. Tables were half an arms length away from eachother and very loud with lots of birthday groups - food was below average wouldn’t go back
Walking in to a boutique alone was gorgeous then to be surprised by the decor, large space and DJ .. 5 stars!!
Worst birthday experience. After seating us, they asked us to move. They put us next to the kitchen and the computer that they use to enter orders in. Spent 90 minutes there, which 75 of those minutes consisted of us waiting for the food to come out. We wanted to cancel our last dish but the waiter promised it was coming out. 15 minutes later we just asked to box it up. Food was good though. Even with that said, I wouldn’t come back here even if you paid me. Maybe I wasn’t dressed skanky enough to get better service. They seemed to be more on point with the girls who had less clothing on. You can find the same quality of food with better customer service elsewhere.
Enjoyed the french dip, lobster mac and cheese very much. Other items were good, but not necessarily something I would order again.
Couldn’t say enough about the incredible service and amazing food. The service was just outstanding, fast and perfect. Made for a great place to eat before a show at the Pantages. I would come back here and eat many more times for a great night out with an incredible delight for your taste buds. The team here was amazing.
Went here the night of my bday this weekend. The service was awful. The waiter seemed as if he didn’t want to serve us. He never came back to ask if we needed anything, another round of drinks or wanted to order more sides -just nothing. For over 20 minutes. Not sure if there was a separate water person but we never got refilled at all. Just one glass of water and our cocktails glasses just sat on our table empty.
It was my bday and were waiting for the waiter to ask if we were ready or basically just come back period. Oh and yes we watched the server walk back and forth to their other tables laughing, serving and taking photos with the other guests. Totally ignoring our table.
My friend called and confirmed the reservation a couple of hours before we got there -the host on the phone confirmed the complimentary birthday dessert presentation. After sitting and waiting for over 20 minutes after we finished our meal, the server finally came back to our table after noticing my blank expression. My friend asked when the dessert was going to be brought out and the server said we had to pay for it because the kitchen was short staffed. Not sure what that has to do with dessert but that was our final clue that it was time to just leave. Was no way we were going to add more to the tab so that this waiter could get a higher tip. We asked for the check and left. What a bummer.
Food was great, drinks were great, ambience was great, overall amazing place for a birthday dinner or a girls night.
Some of the best food I’ve ever had. Small portions but well worth it
Aside from the wait & the proof of vaccinated everything else was fine . Kinda pricey definitely not the $30 & u set it says in the description. 4 appetizers & 2 drinks was $200 sheesh Louie’s.
Had a really nice brunch with my friends before work. Enjoyed every moment being there.
I think staff were too busy, it’s hard to waive at your server to come by. Additionally food took a long time, not just our entrees but for others too. Not that they didn’t apologize for it but I just think the place was understaffed
Food used to be better ; seabass was bland and ceviche was not good , kale salad had no dressing , pizza was average, we all agreed food used to be way better
The ambiance was great and walking in through the pawn shop was fun. However, the service was not great. We were told something was happening in the kitchen causing delays to the food. Our dishes came out very late and one never even came out at all. Our waitress said she was going to comp us a dish for the inconvenience but never did. We had a 5:45pm reservation which we thought would give us plenty of time to get to our 8pm show but we ended up rushing to get there due to service. The food was good but I wasn't blown away and expected a bit more for the price and for that caliber of a restaurant.
The food was good, but they could have had more vegan options. They had the DJ only upstairs, we were seated downstairs and felt a little isolated.
Amazing staff, our server was wonderful. The food and drinks were amazing. The restaurant is so nice and so many places to take amazing pictures. Highly recommend
Surpringly good food, nice ambiance.
We went here for my boyfriend’s birthday and the food was delicious. The French dip and poke tacos were standouts. Excellent food, service and ambiance. Will definitely be back!
It was beautiful
Amazing dinner and great way to spend our anniversary! They even surprised us with a small but delicious complimentary dessert that had chocolate art that said "happy anniversary". The cocktails were innovative and yummy but the food was the real star! The sharable plates were wonderful and perfectly portioned. Thank you again for such a special night! We will be back!
It was a whole vibe...the music was lit and the food was on point!!! THE BEST BIRTHDAY BY FAR 2021 AND BEAUTY AND ESSEX LA MADE MY EXPERIENCE GREAT..I WILL FOREVER REMEMBER 💙
Service would have been a 5 had it not been for carelessness at the hostess stand. We got there 30 minutes early but they did not seat us as promptly as they could have and just might have forgotten us. Got a text seating alert 15 minutes AFTER we were already seated after reminding the hostess we had been waiting. Anyway...Mikaela was our server and she was perfect in every way. Attentive, sweet, and with great advice. we ordered the poke tacos, fries, broccolini, and scallops and it was the perfect amount of food. Every bite was scrumptious. Also ordered the Green With Envy cocktail on her rec and it was refreshing and delicious. Added a Boozy Milkshake Shot which was a dreamy dessert cocktail. Can't wait to go back and order something else.
I really thought I was gonna love this place from the photos and reviews - but it was just OK. The lighting gave my friend a headache and music is really soft but somehow the bass is really loud and it was hard to talk over it. We ordered the tomato soup dumplings (I thought they were OK but my friend didn’t like them at all) , the chicken meatballs were a 5/10, and honestly the brussels sprouts were the best thing that we had that night 8/10.
I was not a fan of the drink either, I forget the name but I ordered something with champagne and I think it was flat. It didn’t have a lot of flavor. I also ordered a virgin cocktail and it was pretty bad as well.
I definitely think it’s some thing everyone should experience for themselves because it is really nice inside, but if you’re only in town for a weekend or short period of time I would try something different.
Our server, Jenna, was really great. Experienced some confusion where only 2 items we ordered were brought out and other items forgotten from the kitchen for 20-30 minutes. Sat outside and sound level was good. Beautiful location. Food was okay-- expected higher quality for the price tag. Drinks were great. Overall, probably wouldnt return unless it was just for drinks.
The ratio of grits to shrimp is disproportionate... There should be more grits
For the price point, the food was just ok. The hot sandwich items were tepid and there wasn't really any standout dish. There were two competing soundtracks audible in the courtyard, which was a bit obnoxious and there were no refills on the coffee or lemonade. The service was nice, but overall the brunch was just adequate and not really worth a repeat visit.
The food was not good. They didn’t have any good drinks and the waitress accidentally slid my card for another table. It declined but that was irresponsible. I like the atmosphere but was disappointed by everything else.
Great place to dine. Everything we’ve tried was amazing, starting from coctails, mains: toasted chicken, corn ravioli and the dessert ( we had olive oil pie ). Our waiter was very helpful.
Request a birthday dessert when I arrived. Never got the birthday surprise wish we had. I feel more organization is needed.
