Beat Brasserie (Beat hotel) Ratings and Reviews
Killer date spot for New Years Eve. We loved the cocktails, small share dishes, and live music. Only reason I gave service a 4/5 instead of perfect 5 was hostess staff seated us 20 mins later than our reservation and out waiter was a bit forgetful and slow to gather the check, but otherwise all staff super friendly. Awesome joint!!
This has been one of my favourite places in Cambridge. The atmosphere can be outstanding and the food is normally fine. It is very inconsistent though- last time we went both food and atmosphere were not great and this is not the first time this has happened. Need to improve consistency.
It's one of my new favorite places. I love that there's live music and there's so much room here that I don't worry that my friends and I won't have a spot to sit. The food and drinks are great. Our waiter was fun and attentive. He made good recommendations since we couldn't decide on what to share.
The two hostesses seemed too busy to help us like we were interrupting them to be seated and they seemed distracted. At 5:45pm it wasn't yet busy. We probably stood at the hostess stand for 5 minutes before being seated with our reservation.
Everything was a process. order drinks, wait 10 minutes, get drinks, wait 10 minutes, flag him down to place our order, etc.
Waiter seemed confused. We asked how the burger was and got- yeah its a regular burger. Not a great salesman and would disappear for LONG stretches of time.
We weren't impressed by the service by any means to the point were it was so ridiculous we were laughing.
This was my first time at Beat Brasserie and I had no idea how big the space was! I've been meaning to try it out and overall enjoyed it. I had the shakshuka, which was okay, but I've had better shakshuka. I want to return and try more for sure, though. My cocktail was delicious and I love that they have live music, too!
I have to say my husband and I were very disappointed. We came in for a thanksgiving meal and we were prepared for the pricing but the food was awful. I had the prime rib and it came out with cold mashed potatoes /green beans and ice cold cranberry sauce; I asked if the potatoes and green beans could be warmed up and the kitchen charred my prime rib and the poor waitress had to bring out horrible looking plate of food. Then my husband received the fattiest piece of meat which was also cold and he asked for his to be warmed up and they brought it back the same as my prime rib. The waitress was a delight but there was no way we were paying $40 something per plate for this food (and we never complain.... especially on a holiday) . The waitress was gracious enough to Comp our drinks and since we couldn’t eat the food (it was that bad) she took that off as well. We left her a nice tip because nothing was her fault. I’m also disappointed that not one manager came over to check on us or anything and I’m shocked the kitchen let these dishes come back out the way they did. We are not complainers but I felt this was pretty bad. We both grew up with our families owning restaurants and know the hard work and annoying people a restaurants has to deal with but I’m sorry the food was unacceptable.
Pizzas were yum, especially the Figaro. Shrimp and grits, short rib large plates along with the délicata squash small plate and two pizzas made for a filling and satisfying meal for 5. And did I say that each of these was DELICIOUS?
Atmosphere was lively and hip. Ask for a table away from the stage area in order to be able to enjoy conversation without having to shout Will be back again for late bites and more time listening to the band.
Regularly impeccable dining experience. The service has been friendly and prompt each time I've visited. Menu has clearly labeled vegetarian and gluten free options. The live music for brunch/lunch (until 2pm on weekends) and during evening hours is great.
Especially love their bowls: a mix of veggies, quinoa (or farro), salsa, and an addition of a number of meats or falafel etc. You walk away feeling healthy and that you had a delicious meal. And I've never felt rushed to clear the table/move on quickly, service is very polite.
Went here for my birthday dinner which my family flew into town specifically for. Was charged a $5 per person plating fee just to have my birthday cake there following our meal, something I have never encountered before. We were served a burnt pizza, a rare burger (ordered well done) and a flavorless “truffle butter” pizza. 0/10, would not recommend.
We were three diners looking to spend some time chatting and share some fun/interesting food. We ordered 4 small and 1 large plate to start and asked the waiter to space them out. All of the food arrived before I was half way into my cocktail. The food was tasty but nothing special. We had to share water as no one came by to refill our glasses. We were in and out in under an hour on a week night. It was pretty pricey for the experience.
