Beasts & Bottles
Great neighbourhood find. Have walked past many time and finally made the time to try this place. The entire dining experience was delightful. Looking forward to coming back to try the brunch menu.
What a fantastic find in this otherwise limited neighborhood! We started with an amazing champagne by the glass, finished with some delicious craft cocktails and fresh baked madelines. From start to finish the entire experience was fantastic, staff was super nice and we didn't feel rushed even though they were jamming! Can't wait to come back!
This place has it together from food to the visuals. They have a rotisserie and know how to use it the chicken was so awesome I cannot stop thinking about it. Staff was very friendly and attentive.
A little pricey, but food was delicious and service wonderful! And...the atmosphere was also wonderful although noisy. Will definitely go back.
Too loud, too expensive, food OK but nothing extraordinary.
Have been going for years but was disappointed recently.
We wanted to try something new within walking distance, and were pleasantly surprised by B&B. Chicken Provençal was excellent, as was the duck. Didn’t love the beet/endive salad, but all in all it was a great meal.
This place never disappoints. The food and wine are excellent, the service friendly, but not overly so. Great for any occasion.
Went here for New Years eve, they were offering a pre fixe menu and wine pairing. It was a little expensive for only four courses but each plate was delicious. I dont know if the waitstaff was just added for the holidays but they didnt seem to be too knowledgeable on any of the courses on the menu.
We'll definitely go back on a regular night.
The worst meal I've had in 3 and a half years living in NY.
We dined at Beasts & Bottles on NYE at 7 pm and it was absolutely horrible. The tasting menu was a huge disappointment. We signed up a night before on open table for the 4-course meal offered at this restaurant and it was a complete joke. They mislead you advertising the holiday meal as 4 course dinner. The only course that was decent was the dessert. Everything else was tasteless, without seasoning and VERY SMALL. It was not very expensive considering it was being advertised as a 4-course meal on New Year's Eve ($85) but it was not a 4-course meal. It was a joke and we left hungry, very hungry.
1. The truffled cauliflower vol-au-vent was the size of a quarter. It tasted like it was baked at a cheap corner bakery. It was upsetting when we realized that this was the so called first course.
2. The Waldorf salad was not seasoned at it was 80% celery. It really was a sub-par salad.
3. The Truffled Lobster Pot-au-Feu was not a full lobster. Seafood is my favorite food and I know how it looks. This was not a baby lobster and it was accompanied by a single tiny potato. Joke.
4. Dessert: the ice cream was fine. You cannot really mess up the ice cream.
In addition, we felt rushed from the moment we came in. The waiters kept trying to remove our plates before we were finished even though the place was 60% empty for New Year's Eve.
When we asked to speak with manager, we were shocked by his pedantic attitude. He was unpleasant, arrogant, pretentious and kept saying how great their chef is. Instead of listening, he kept pretending to speak French at us even though he was clearly not French. He kept saying that it was tasting menu to explain why the New Year's Eve menu was different from the pictures in Yelp and Opentable. It WAS NOT a tasting menu and it WAS not a 4 course meal.
He kept saying that the restaurant is so amazing but it is not even on Infatuation.
Notably bad food. One of us ordered a special — no one told us, but it turned out to be a $45 risotto dish. Would not recommend.
Very average, nothing bad to say about the place but nothing memorable. Unfortunately not good enough for me to want to go back.
There was nothing memorable about the food that would make me come back. The service was fine although it started out a bit rocky, but they recovered by checking up on us periodically. Very overpriced
Was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Great cocktails, and that smoked duck was or if this world!
Miniscule portions. Wines Are mediocre
But the service is tops. Figure that
Wonderful cod great warm but not intrusive service.
It’s taken the place of Henry s end as our go to place
Brunch was a pretty quiet crowd. Service was very good. Overall ambiance was chill.
Great sommelier, fun bar, excellent first courses. However, the pluses of these attributes can't really be offset by the incredibly dismal table service and horribly slow kitchen (we waited 40m for any drinks and food after we sat down) Lastly, for a "rotisserie" restaurant, they have super disappointing dry chicken!
Service was horrible every step of the way, 20 minutes to get a cocktail and the place was dead. One plate came out all alone. The food for the other 3 people we had to ask for. Which came out cold. Absolutely horrendous all around.
We had a great experience eating at Beasts & Bottles. The food was exquisite and the wine list impeccably curated. The decor was beautiful and added to the casual but upscale ambiance. We will surely be back and recommend to friends and family!
Even though Alex wasn’t there, James took excellent care of us. Food was excellent, the vintage grower champagne was served at the perfect temperature, a great burgundy recommendation paired deliciously with the chicken provencal and the amazing desert and wine pairing topped off a memorable meal in Brooklyn! Cannot wait to go back.
I love this place. Such amazing food, a neighborhood favorite!!
Excellent ambiance, staff, food for a fine Thanksgiving dinner. Only odd thing was prix fixe with no coffee or tea with dessert.
Different thanksgiving meal for us for sure. Food and wine pairing- was the highlight.
Loved our dinner. We had the house baked bread and the chicken feast for two. Both exceeded our expectations. I'd find it hard to eat here again and not go for the same. The scallop appetizer and Panna cotta were also good, but we could have done without. Atmosphere and decor were great and service was spot on.
The ambiance is a five the food was a 3 at best. We went for brunch and just fell short. Food was under cooked and greasy.
First time and loved it. Highly recommend.
the apps are surprisingly small - i wouldn't bet on sharing them with more than one person. and the mains - i wasn't so impressed. decent food, but nothing to write home about. was hoping for more flavor.
Another lovely dinner at Beasts & Bottles, starting with a truly mouth-watering custom-made cocktail made just for for picky me! I do wish they would change up the pasta dish on the current menu. It was previously a delicious beefy ragout but is currently being made with rabbit, and is consequently a smidge too bony for me. That said, I finally tried the burger and it is SO GOOD. We also tried the truffled chicken for two this time around, which was on the small side but came with a decadent little potpie. Highly recommend this place for family dinner or an elegant but casual date spot.
Excellent service. Food was great. A bit pricey. Nice atmosphere.
Amazing wine list and wonderful food!
Happened upon this place after roaming on foot looking for a spot in DUMBO but unable to find an uncrowded, reasonably priced option -- browsed online for Brooklyn Heights options and saw this place had good reviews and tables available so we jumped on it (and walked 30 minutes to get there :-) ). Beautiful restaurant, loved the decor and the noise level was not high. The wines were outstanding -- my friend had a Portuguese sparkling wine that was gorgeous in color, crisp, light and refreshing, and followed it up with a light, dry Portuguese red; I had a Barbera that was smooth and lovely. We LOVED our appetizers -- a watermelon spare ribs were very tasty. A chocolate mousse with brownie and ice cream suffered from a dry brownie (I think it was in the fridge too long) but the ice cream was phenomenal; a citrus panna cotta was satisfactory. However, overall we really enjoyed this place and would go back in a heartbeat!
Excellent service, food and atmosphere
Would definitely recommend this place!
Great food- nice atmosphere- very knowledgeable staff- able to deal with allergies etc. Made us feel well take care of; If you drink very well stocked bar and many opotions.
Delightful with delicious food. I would however like a more extensive menu.
This was our fourth visit and the most disappointing. Service was slow, food Luke warm.
Had a great time at this restaurant. Food was so delicious and enjoyed their wine.
Their smoked duck inspired dreams and a really good night's sleep. I am SO coming back.
I've been here a number of times for brunch. Always a table, always incredible food and service especially the homemade strawberry jam.
Outstanding dining experience. Parking always a challenge if you’re driving
