BEAST features the bounty of the Northwest with French inspiration in mind. A six-course prix-fixe dinner is offered five nights a week in a communal setting. The menu changes Wednesday and remains the same for the next two weeks based upon the ingredients of the season. A three-course prix-fixe brunch is offered every Sunday.
Wine pairings are available for dinner and brunch. As our menu changes every two weeks, so do they.
We politely decline substitutions as we offer a set menu only but are often able to accommodate allergies with advanced notice.
A credit card is required to secure all reservations. We have a 24-hour cancellation policy for parties up to five people and a 48-hour cancellation policy for parties of six or more. Any cancellations within the aforementioned timeframes will result in an $85 charge per person and $30 for brunch.

Beast Ratings and Reviews
Knowing that some of you will label this review as heresy, and as much as it pains me to write this, I think we witnessed the beginning of the end of Beast. Having eaten in the various incarnations of Family Supper and now Beast, I feel that we have enough experience to know the amazing highs that are possible by the Beast crew. Unfortunately, our last meal was mostly a low. The Amuse-Bouche was a dense, off-putting seafood salad on a dry wafer. The Oil Poached Hokaiddo Sea Scallop came sitting on a piece of too thick Pineapple. The Pineapple completely overpowered the Sea Scallop. The Parsley Garganelli was good, but not great, the pasta was a bit dry. The Beef Cheeks was not plural, it wasn't even singular, it was fractional. Sadly, it was served room temp at best. The Beef Cheek came with some Frisée scattered on it. It made no sense to have a bitter element with Whipped Potatoes and Carrots...less is more. The Beet and Endive salad was very good. The Profiterole with Blue Cheese was good but not great. The La Peral Blue Cheese was the best thing on this dish, I am going to call the Cheese Bar and see if they have any in stock. The Tres Leche cake was good, but here again this dish had unnecessary and unwanted micro-greens on it. Why?
The music didn't help the middling food. It was a combination of Pop and R&B that was too loud and mostly not very good. I overheard the diners next to me comment that the music sounded "like a race to the bottom of what was bad in 2017". I realize that music is very subjective, just like my review here, but I don't know many kids who would have enjoyed this music and can also afford Beast. Who is being catered to here? The clientele or the staff?
On a more positive note, the staff was attentive and very friendly.
There are lots of food options in Portland, perhaps one of them will take the mantle away from Beast.
I brought my wife here on a date after hearing good things from friends of ours. We chose to include the wine tasting which we both agreed was absolutely the right choice. The food was amazing and the portions sized appropriately given the 6 courses provided. While the seating is group friendly we kept to ourselves and found no issue with either noise level or feeling unable to share the moment.
A truly wonderful dining experience which we will do again once the season changes to experience a radically different set of flavors.
Fantastic Dinner at Beast! Absolutely delicious, wonderful evening. The four of us all enjoyed every single bite - my brother even licked his plate. From the amuse bouche of potato chip with persimmon and prosciutto, to the ending macaron, all of the flavors were outstanding. Even though there were 6 courses, plus bite at beginning and ending, we weren't too full, but we weren't hungry either - really perfect portions. So many flavors in each course - I've been to many prix fixe places, but this really was the best. As long as you eat all kinds of meat and seafood, you will be happy.
Best meal I’ve ever had! I recommend the wine pairings with dinner. Not only did the pairings compliment each course beautifully, it was some of the best wine I’ve tasted. The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy, and the service is top notch. Beast is not just a great place for dinner, it’s an experience! I will be coming back to Beast soon.
The meal was very delicious and special. There were 6 of us dining and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We are fans of Naomi and have been to many of her dinners throughout Oregon. Unfortunately, the woman serving us- not sure of her name- seemed so inconvenienced by us it greatly diminished our experience. It is a shame when gratuity is included and therefore you get treated terribly- I was embarrassed I brought my whole family and talked it up so much and then she was straight up rude... eyerolls included when we asked questions about the food . A fine dining experience like beast should be paired with exceptional service in my opinion. All in all, I recommend Beast but hope the wait staff is more gracious to you than she was to us.
Beast is an exceptional place to eat. It is the place I think of for well executed, flavorful cuisine that is worth every penny. The service is attentive, the portions are perfect and packed with flavors, and the wine pairings are on point. You will not be disappointed at giving this pre-fixe meal a go!
We were last at Beast about two years ago. Our visit last weekend was great! The food was good before; this time it was fantastic. There are two sittings with a prix fixe menu. Everything was excellent. but the halibut with prawn consommé was truly superb. The pasta with Calabrian chile and pork ragu was also fantastic. The salad with mushrooms was inspired. This was a great meal! We did the wine pairings, which were unusual but very well matched with the food. Highly recommended!
Amazing experience in a gourmet inspired location. You sit at a large table with other guests which made for nice conversation. The menu is pre set with 5 courses. We chose to do the wine pairing as well. All courses were outstanding with very creative ingredients. Would have liked the chef to come to the tables at the completion as they do at The James Beard House. Highly recommend for a special occasion.
A must for anyone who enjoys great food presented creatively. The show is the kitchen and I felt sorry for those with their backs to the action. The bloody mary was delicious. Thankfully we reordered before they ran out. Watching the claflouti's construction was only exceeded by their flavors. The salads tasted as good as they looked. The eggs and lamb and goo were delicious. Every detail of brunch was well done and precisely executed. Still, watching the show along with my friend made the meal all the better. Highly recommended.
