We really enjoyed Beacon Tavern. We went for a date night the night before we had to move my daughter out of Loyola due to closing related to the Coronavirus. We were looking for a quiet, relaxing place with good food and drink to de-stress from the chaos of this whole thing. It was perfect. The ambiance was fabulous—great decor with enough sound absorption—-velvet upholstered booths, fabric-wrapped acoustical panels, etc—to make even happy hour not seem loud or obnoxious. The service was absolutely fantastic—-my water glass never hit less than 1/3 and my wine glass was never empty; attention to detail like that is hard to find anymore and was very appreciated. The food was delicious and our waitress attentive and personable. She gave us enough time to ourselves, but was amazingly also there every time we even thought we MIGHT need something. Overall, very impressed, and not to be missed!
Birthday lunch with co-workers. The staff were great. Food excellent!
I was so impressed with this place! The atmosphere was perfect and our server was extremely attentive without being intrusive. The oysters were the best I’ve had in the area. Felt like I was in Portland! I will definitely be back!
Quality food served with quality service in a very comfortable setting.
Really good atmosphere and service. Loved the shrimp toast and after dinner cheese plate. Got a really great wine. Didn’t love the steak tar tar.
Have been for lunch before and had a similar experience. Mushroom/veg sandwich is awesome.
Nice job Peter, very good service
Fantastic, as always! A must-go place to have a business lunch!
Went to Beacon Tavern for my birthday dinner. Started with the cheese tray, beacon biscuits (yummy) and oysters. Everything’s was delicious! My husband had the steak frites and I had the scallops both were amazing. Top it off with dessert. Loved the atmosphere and service was fantastic! Definitely will go back.
The food was very good. We had the king fish and the pork tenderloin. Excellent flavors. The server was very attentive. It was a bit tricky to find but the ambience was nice with fireplaces and warm atmosphere. Pricing was higher than expected. Entrees ranged from $25-$65 with $14 cocktails. Overall it was a great dining experience for a birthday.
Came for a brunch with three of my girl friends, it was Absolutely PERFECT! Food, ambiance, service...ALL AMAZING. It was like the ultimate trifecta.
Enjoyed sitting in the bar area, and we loved the fish and chips and squash entrees. Service was great, and we had to get to a show, which the server was attentive to. We will plan on returning.
Delicious all the way around. And their Old Fashions are a must-do if you like that sort of thing.
Incredible gem with excellent delectables uniquely prepared and displayed by Chef Evan and staff. Can’t wait to go back.
The roasted chicken is superb and so was the service from entering, dining and departing!
Thank you Antonio for stellar service
Appetizers were good. Not great
Main courses were bad for value.
Service was great
Considering the reviews and our last experience trying new places we were surprised how few people were there and maybe that had something to do with the dramatic inconsistency of the food.
For the money and considering it was a Saturday night in Chicago we were disappointed.
This is simply one of the best spots in River North. Delviers every time across the board with remarkable consistency.
Love Beacon Tavern!
Restaurant Week choice for brunch. Absolutely delicious! Service and food were wonderful. Their cocktails are so fresh!
From the hostess to the waiter, attentive and welcoming
Amber, george, Cody, Fahdi and all the staff are wonderful! They always greet and treat us well.
Great service, we chose the bar area. Unassuming location, but food was outstanding
Very nice place right off of Michigan Avenue. I wish their Sunday brunch menu had a few more choices but it was pretty good. I would very much recommend it especially for dinner
I like Beacon Tavern overall but the Restaurant Week experience was underwhelming. Most portions were small or came out different than your expectation based on the description. And they were out of the dessert we all wanted
I’d go back but order off the regular menu.
Love the creative food choices. Always good service.
