Definitely satisfied the foodie in me! The food was wonderful. Great service. Awesome location and atmosphere! Highly recommend!
Just the perfect end to a nice day!!!!
Squash soup was AMAZING!
Alaskan halibut was excellent / desert prepared to leave out one ingredient- such good service.
Nice cozy bar w spacious high tops
Just loved the place.
Wonderful service food! Lovely ambiance, especially on a cold evening. Thank you!
Great location convenient to Mich Ave. very comfortable dining room. Butter burgers were great. Pricing as expected for the location
nice to have a fire nearby and a real candle on the table. cozy on a cold chicago night. noise level quite low. if only the food were better!
My husband love the Beacon Tavern. Great ambiance & wonderful food. The service is always excellent.
Excellent. Love this place. They are so accommodating when it comes to my allergies. The service is the best and the ambience matches the food which is perfect.
Outstanding restaurant which makes you feel welcome and not near either the Mag Mile or Trump Hotel. That is a positive statement as it is a comfortable escape. Great atmosphere, food and service.
My husband and I were celebrating his birthday before heading out to a show. We shared the burger and fish and chips- both were great. The highlight were the Old Fashioneds we ordered. Would recommend as an upscale bar atmosphere, not stuffy and great for a date.
Great food, trendy atmosphere. Was exactly what we were looking for. Only giving 4 stars because it was good and as expected, just not exceptional.
Hard to find but worth the search! Loved the tall banquettes, which really helped with talking privately (and not shouting). The poussin special was terrific. Can’t wait to return.
Need to replace the stools in the bar all very wobbly. Food is not that great…
First, Open Table needs to look at the menu and wine list again - this is hardly a $$ restaurant. I would say $$$ at a minimum. I understand things can happen and waitstaff can make mistakes but one of our party was delivered the wrong meal twice! Given the limited menu it seemed hard to do. The person who I assume was the Manager made a joke out of the wrong meal coming the first time with the explanation “He hit the wrong button.” and walked away. Once the second meal was delivered he did not even bother to check if it was correct. I will say a starter was taken off the bill and the waiter did apologize.
We loved our dinner for 6 at the Beacon Tavern Saturday night, Oct 26, 2019 - the food was delicious, service excellent, cocktails/wine excellent, and ambiance very nice, including not too loud so we could all have a good conversation and hear each other. The only problem for some people in the group was finding the restaurant - in heavy rain. The North Wabash St address was just plain confusing for those who circled the block several times looking for the place and could not find it. They eventually stumbled in after wandering around and asking people where it was, all soaked with rain, which was not an auspicious start for a fun evening together. But once we settled in, everything was great.
Fabulous atmosphere, view, service and food!
Classy and perfect for lunch. View on the Chicago River. The service is excellent and the specials are usually good. Would like a wider selection of food on the menu. Great experience overall.
Outstanding service. Very well-trained and accommodating staff. Food is unique and delicious! Friendly atmosphere.
We really enjoyed our meal. Food and service was great. Very cool spot
Great location for a tavern. Kind of tucked away, but not hard to find. Excellent food for a tavern/pub, even if selection (ate on the bar) is somewhat limited. Fixtures and lighting made you feel like you were in a classy restaurant without letting you forget you were in a tavern.
Service (Ivan and team) was on point! Knowledge of the menu, helpfulness, attitude, timing, and attention to detail were perfect. Felt taken care of (not forgotten) without feeling like they were a bother.
Already thinking of ways to plan work outings for various occasions.
Thank you Lauren and Luke
Well done, great hospitality and food
Took my parents out for their anniversary. The staff was great and very friendly in helping celebrate the occasion. Overall very nice experience.
Perfect... at all
The service was decent when we arrived but after electing not to order the suggested Turbot entree, our server was non-existent but for fist bumping our table when we got our food and telling us to enjoy. Fish and chips were soggy.
Nice place, good food and good service. We liked the fish and chips. Open kitchen. We enjoyed it very much.
Thank you Luke
Lauren you always make my experience at Beacon Tavern perfect, thank you
This cozy restaurant hit all the right notes for me. The meal and service were stellar, and because I was dining alone, I had the chance to notice all the little details that made this establishment special from the elegant tapered candles, to the acoustic ceiling, to the gorgeous teacups and the tile floor. My only complaint is that the menu descriptions were skimpy, so it was hard to predict ingredients.
Lovely location, great atmosphere and good food.
Sat outside on the patio - very nice and excellent meal.
portions were small; server was just okay; we sat outside and the bugs were bad; we had to request covers for our cups, outdoor heater, etc. Server tended to oversell but I'm sure that how they're trained. I do like the food and it held up to my prior visits.
Lovely brunch atmosphere.
The space was comfortable, reminded me of a colonial establishment in Philadelphia. Service was excellent and food was good. We started with the kale salad and I had the fish and chips and it was a large portion perfectly prepared. My husband had the chicken which was a smaller portion served ontop something he did not recognize, but turned out to be potatoes. I do not recommend the desert cake with basil ganach, too savory when we wanted something sweet, but is was attractively presented.
Everything we ordered was delicious and well-presented. The place was also very peaceful and cozy. It’s a perfect place to have brunch with friends and reconnect.
We had a lot of fun in a venue that was well suited for an adult get together. We had private space in a comfortable booth and the time to relax and enjoy ourselves without feeling rushed. Our server was tremendous.
Our server was such a pleasant and wonderful young woman, and the kitchen staff and the rest of the servers and bartenders made our group feel welcome and comfortable. The food was out of this world...we ordered a pile of apps and they were all phenomenal. We will be back! Thank you from Toronto!
Great atmosphere and menu, they were running an Oktoberfest special and the wines were amazing.
We had a great dinner here! The food was good, the waiter was superb, and the ambiance was lovely. Will be back!
Good and quiet place great service and atmosphere
Highly recommended for small groups and couples also.
The service was great and the salad and dessert were exquisite. The entree was far too salty and we shared that with our server so he could take it back to the kitchen. We were surprised that the server didn't offer to comp a dessert or cocktail when we told him that our food was far too salty - almost to the point of inedible. Overall I would definitely try it again and recommend it to others.
Generic brunch place with vaguely bizarre menu. Butter on a burger. It’s not bad. What would expect from a business located where it is, which caters to tourists.
Love the avocado toast! Service is always excellent too!
