Beacon Tavern is a Gage Hospitality Group restaurant. Sister restaurants include: The Gage, Acanto, Coda di Volpe and The Dawson.
We were there for brunch, they ran out of items we ordered like clam chowder. They forgot multiple items for example the oysters came after the entree. They didn't bus the table after salads and apps and when asked them to, they knocked over my oj and spilled it on my chair. The manager brought out macarons as a sorry.
Great casual brunch spot with above-average food!
Great food and service. Waiter was very patient on St. Patrick's Day which must be one of the toughest days to work in the restaurant industry. Bartenders all chipped in to keep up at the bar.
My friends and I had a great time, we sat at a booth in the back so we could enjoy our food and amazing cocktails without it being rowdy. We loved our spot out of the mayhem! Thank you to the staff at beacon for great service, we will definitely be going back
BT was cozy with lovely casual atmosphere and delicious food!
Thank you Antonio, great service...
Welcome to a great team Ms Christina
Everything was wonderful. Terrific wine (cabernet) and best burgers ever!
We had a lovely brunch, and our server was able to accommodate all of our extra requests for our little one. Definitely going back soon!!
Great meal. Will come back.
Even with a large party right next to us it was not loud at all. The food was outstanding and the service was good.
One of our favorite restaurants. Lovely and delicious. Our waiter was wonderful. This was our first time their with our children and they could not have been more welcoming to them - even making a very plain version of their avocado toast for our youngest.
We have eaten there twice in the last two weeks and when an out of town friend needed a place for a dinner party, booked her group there. Highly recommended. Great service, excellent food and its possible to have a conversation.
Thank you Thomas, Julie and MIchelle
Great staff and great food...thank you
Certainly a pleasant evening - service attentive/friendly. I ordered the "Seafood Special" of the day which was presented as bass, only to have it come as swordfish, which was certainly fine and they were very gracious about the confusion.
My main gripe - I told our waitress that we had an hour until we needed to leave for the theater so perhaps that was the reason, but after the drinks arrived and she took our dinner order, we'd barely gotten halfway through our drinks when the food arrived - couldn't have been 5-10 minutes! I wanted to finish my drink and our conversation so by the time I ate my food was lukewarm.
Thank you to MIchelle and Alex
One of the best casual high end meals I have had - loved it
We go to the Gage but this will be a new go to
We had a lovely dinner and visit with good Chicago friends there b
Great place for brunch with friends. Nice setting and service was good.
Excellent food, ambiance and service. Loved the butterscotch dessert. It was our second visit. I'm sure we'll be back.
Antonio was our server are he was excellent. The food was amazing. The only problem was the obnoxious table of 20 something year olds that was so loud that I now know every detail of their life.
Second time at the Beacon Tavern and it’s become my go to restaurant. Food is delicious, the ambiance is cozy, and noise level is quite low so you can have a conversation.
I had a lovely dinner on Wednesday at Beacon Tavern. I particularly liked the Brie and our great waiter! The ambience was quite nice and there’s a beautiful view of the river just outside the restaurant.
Crummy chewy steak frites for $50! Manager kindly took it off the bill though.. Touristy pricing. Mediocre food and ambiance.
Excellent place for lunch and brunch! There were 5 of us and we all liked our foods and drinks. The bloody merry was well done. The food presentation was excellent and the service was good. I will definitely go back.
I didn't know this restaurant was hidden behind The Wrigley Building until someone mentioned it. After looking at their offerings I thought it was a good option to start off a girl's night with a friend. I made a reservation through Open Table and ended up having to push the time back, the host was very friendly when I called to make the change and upon our arrival. Getting there was tricky and I got a bit lost walking from Wabash.
Once I arrived and met my friend we decided to sit at the bar but the seats were bolted into the floor and a bit too far from the bar itself. We asked our bartender if it was ok for us to move to a high top and he helped us bring our things over. Our drinks looked amazing, Alex presented them so nicely and they tasted even better! We shared their Roasted Carrot appetizer and the Rigatoni with chicken. Everything was delicious but we had no room for desert.
Overall it was a wonderful experience with great service, delicious food and a warm ambiance. Alex was very knowledgeable and attentive. As my friend put it "The prefect place for a cold rainy day." I work across the river so I'll definitely be back soon.
Nice atmosphere; very warm and inviting
Really excellent service from the front door, the bartenders, and our waiter. Food was excellent and came out in a timely manner. Really warm atmosphere on a cold rainy night.
Perfect date night spot!
The pork shoulder was AMAZING!! Pastas are also great and the rolls are delicious as well. Highly recommend!
A little difficult to find thanks to Google. Walk between the two Wrigley Buildings and you’ll come right to it.
Excellent food. I had the fish and chips. My wife had the scallops. I would go back.
Lovely spot for a delicious late weekend brunch. Great service too.
We were looking for a great place for lunch (food, service and setting) and once again Beacon Tavern did not disappoint!
Love this place. The Bartenders are very good and make you feel very special. The JCVD was amazing!
Beet salad and fish for 2 just simply amazing.
Thank you Alex
Always great to catch up at one of my favorite spots
Menu was on the small side. Was expecting great and got just average. Nothing overly memorable.
What more could you ask for? Comfy environs, considerate service, every bite an ingredient thoughtful and tasty...a new favorite with return trips assured every time we visit Chicago.
Thanks from your grateful Michigan neighbor and friend.
Dependably good dinner and great, pleasant, unobtrusive service. the roasted carrot/yogurt/dill appetizer is a favorite (as in we always get it), nice crabcakes and my husband really enjoyed his branzino
Everything was great!
I am a little picky when it comes to crab cakes, which it’s hard to make a good crab cake. Wasn’t matching my high expectations.
Great drinks and appetizers.
