The food wasn’t good. We sent several dishes back. I had the chicken and waffles and the chicken was dry. Poor experience.
Unfortunately I was disappointed which is a first for this venue. I’m always suggesting this place, it’s always been a goto yearly for birthday events. I guess we all have our bad days, and my last experience was it.... service wasn’t the best. From the valet to the food and service. Maybe next time
Overall, everything except the service was good. We arrived at 12:00 and did not leave until 2:00 waiting on entre, dessert... When we were served everyone was nice and professional.
Restaurant selected for convenience. Salad had "way too much" dressing, I only ate the salmon on top. Wait staff was pleasant and good; however, given the amount of dressing on my salad when communicated, he didn't offer to have the cost removed. I didn't request or complain but this is an important measure of good service.
Visited Beacon this Sunday just to have a get together with friends. It we were seated almost immediately, I'm sure if our party arrived together we would have been. Our server was Richard and another Petit young lady working with Richard. I'm so sorry I can't remember her name but both were equally amazing. Overall the food was great , ambiance was comparable to other brunch places. Reasonable priced for 9 of us at roughly 40pp. The options were plentiful, piping hot, and very delicious. I recommend visiting for brunch. If your driving leave early to find street parking or valet for 20.00 additional. We had a great experience thanks Beacon.
The food was great with many choices. The mimosas were truly bottomless. Our waiter never let our glasses get half full! We all went home full and happy and took a nap! Will be going again.
I have been to this Sunday brunch twice. The first time we didn't have a reservation however they were able to seat us and the waiter was very attentive. He made sure our flutes for our bottomless Mimosas were always full. The Buffet food was decent and they had a variety of options for you to choose from. So there was always something that we were pleased with. The omelette station was good and made to order. My second visit was with some friends and we had reservations. The food was decent again however I could tell it was a different cook as some of the items that I liked before were different this time like the grits - first time they were nice and creamy the second time they were a bit runny. However with so many other items you have plenty to choose from. Our waiter during this last visit was not as attentive as the first time we were there and had to wait for him to come around to ask for refills or any other items we may need. Overall I would go back as there are plenty of items for everyone.
It was a very good brunch. We enjoyed the food, the service was good and the price was reasonable.
It was a wonderful experience
Terrible service. Waited 25 minutes to be let in while workers just stared at the door. Were given attitude. The whole time we were there our service was slow or not there at all. Great food but not worth it the photos online showed outdoor seating which wasn’t available
Won’t be back
Great service and delicious food!
It was wonderful, the food, prices and environment was amazing. I will definitely be coming back again 😊😊😊
Food was good, unlimited mimosas, and almost all of the clientele were having a marvelous happy time.
Food was ok, but not worth the cost. Maybe ok if you are looking for unlimited cheap drinks.
The restaurant did not read my comments and paid no attention to us being there for an occasion. The wait staff rushed us and removed uneaten appetizers. The menu was different from the online menu. The meat was over cooked and French fries were cold and soggy. They insisted on charging us if we cut into the special cake I brought as we were celebrating a birthday and were out of town, even though we ordered coffee and ice cream. Not a place for celebrating.
All-inclusive buffet brunch---coffee, mimosas, champagne, and bloody marys. About as easy as it gets logistically. Brunch is busy so the buffet food doesn't sit very long.
It was great...from bringing, to the food, to the end. The waitstaff were professional and accommodating.
Great selection and variety of food for Sunday Brunch. Everything was very good. This was more of a family/church crowd so if you are looking for a DC brunch type scene it’s not here.
The food is not good.
Sunday brunch was great. It's a little expensive but well worth it. It is always a buffet on Sundays with a wide variety of foods to choose from. Our waiter was always right there to refill our glasses of bottomless mimosas which is included in the price of the brunch. Can't wait to go back again.
Beacon is my favorite DC spot for my annual Easter Family Brunch!
My friend unexpectedly flew into DC from Berlin for work so I wanted a warm/fun engaging place to catch up - this wasn’t it.
Our server was short, perhaps because it was the end of his shift; it was shocking that there was no kids menu and no items in the regular meniu that could serve as such; we asked for a glass of cranberry juice which we were told was large and could be shared between to two children, yet when the drinks arrived there was only 1 glass no ice, our server seemed bored al/distracted/uninterested; the food was basic nothing to write home about though the four of us enjoyed the chicken and waffles.
After being short-changed by a manager in the restaurant several years ago because he didn't have enough money in the register, my friends and I boycotted the place for several years. I decided to try another meal there to see if things had changed. Had good service and the food was good for lunch.
Friendly service and great value for the fine food served here-the short ribs were excellent.
Casual dinner with really nice food and good wine, we really enjoyed the steak, really tasty.
Desi service was outstanding. This spot was always the best spot for brunch .....but the food has declined .....let me clarify ...it has reached the bottom of the barrel. Why would a Sunday Brunch spot that focus is on unlimited beverage options and buffet style and a $39 price point have HOT DOGS on the buffet????? Constantly out of clean plates .....there were NO plates available in the buffet area so people were waiting for the dishwasher or someone to bring plates ....and the restaurants was not even packed ????? Tables empty?????
so something changed?????
Thank goodness for Desi --otherwise it would have been a real bad Sunday ---waste of my money --
They even started breaking down the buffet area prior to 3PM --how does that work when your last seating is at 2:30pm???? Shouldn't the person who sits at 2:30pm get the same experience as the person that sits at noon?? Isn't the price the same??
The service, waffle and omelet bars were outstanding. The food could have used a little more seasoning. It seems like it was cooked with none, not even salt.
We fell into the place by accident, with no idea how special it is. Sunday brunch is a wonderful experience. I can’t wait to go back.
The food was extremely mediocre, not bad but nothing special. But the service was embarrassing at best. Our server kept disappearing for 10-15 minutes at a time. When we ordered another drink it took about 10 minutes and the waitress said sorry it took so long, they couldn’t find the bartender. So weird. Meanwhile there were only 3 other tables of people at this point so there’s no reason everything took so long. When we finished and wanted to leave we sat for over 20 minutes waiting for our server to check on us so we could get the check. I will never go back, it was a pathetic attempt at a restaurant
We ate here at 8 pm on a Friday night. The bar was occupied by only eight people. We were shown to a table in a room that appears to be an annex of a hotel. The food, a series of small plates, was consistently poor to fair. Cannot reconcile our experience with the four and five star reviews this restaurant has received. Having gone, there is no reason for us to go back. And there is no reason to go out of your way to find this restaurant - surely there must be better places to try in Washington.
I am from out-of-state and have introduced a few locals to your restaurant, who frequent since the initial introduction. When I get an opportunity to come to the Maryland/DC area for a weekend get-a-way, I always find myself at Beacon Bar & Grill before leaving for their buffet brunch. I was a bit disappointed when I learned that you all discontinued the Saturday Buffet Brunch, however Sunday it is for my buck.
Desi usually waits on me and I just love her personality and customer service, however this time I was waited on by Richard and he was great. I want to acknowledge both of them (in hopes that this review will be seen by the restaurant) for their great customer service. For I am a guru for great customer service especially when I am spending my hard-earned money. I always say: it is silly for me to pay for bad service. And I would by far say that Beacon's wait staff (of the 2 I have experienced has never disappointed me).
The food was so good! I recommend it for a quick night out when you don’t know where to go or can’t decide.
Great time catching up with a friend after 26 years of not seeing one another.
I love the food, music and service at the Beacon Bar & Grill. I have not been here in over three years but everything is still great.
Food was very good and our server was very attentive.
Food is very average - service is slow and inattentive
I went to the rooftop happy hour in the summer which was very modern and nice, but the restaurant reminded me of an old motel along a highway. The food was okay and atleast the price was reasonable for finner in DC. Spent $25-30 for a chicken ceasar salad and a cake tgat I shared.
