Had brunch here. Food used to be stellar but is subpar now. Maybe they have New chefs but the prices have also increased so likely won’t revisit anytime soon. Staff and service were superb though.
Very nice as always, although the price has gone up considerably since our last Sunday brunch there.
nice place for lunch. Menu is limited but the food and service is good.
My server was excellent. I love good customer service I can't believe I forgot his name but he had to work the bar and the tables. And he did it with ease.
Valentine’s Day, the experience was not what I expected or would have otherwise chosen.
Great brunch food!!!
I've been to Beacon Bar and Grill for brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday brunch is much quieter and the food is fresher. Sunday brunch is the buffet style and food seemed stale as it was left out for longer periods of time and you pay more-$55 per person. I don't think it was worth it. I'll be back for Saturday brunch sometime in the future. Great ambiance and my server, Richard was excellent!
Our server was the absolute best her name was Jackie she made our brunch exceptional. She even got in pictures with us when asked
~ As long-time customers at Beacon (restaurant AND HOTEL), we LOVE it! The QUALITY of the service, food, and amenities Never Changes. It is Always Excellent! Thank you! for always making us feel welcome, and for helping to make our Special Occasions SPECIAL. We hope to continue our business with Beacon for many years to come:)
Best friend birthday
Use to be one of my favorite Sunday brunch spots. The price has increased from an average $50pp to $72pp, which includes tax and tip. We were all surprised by this huge increase. I understand inflation, but this was a little extreme! Sure they added lobster tails (not good at all) and peel and eat shrimp, not worth the increase. Management of the Beacon, you need to revisit this mistake or you will continue to drop customers.
Yes but I would warn them about the increase in price.
Very empty and not as inviting in a Saturday as it was on a Sunday.
The service and quality was unlike that experienced in the past!
I haven't been to the Sunday brunch for more than 5 years and this visit was not at all pleasant. During this visit it was clear that the quality of food have plummeted but the price has gone up. The omelet was burnt to the point that the parts that weren't burnt, tasted burnt. Didn't have a problem with our servers but they looked miserable which explains the crappy food (plain overcooked fried potatoes, sausages seemed reheated and saturated with grease, and the fried chicken was questionable).
This review may not look positive, but it is. If you are looking for someplace that isn't crazy and blowing up for brunch, this may be a good choice. I like brunch where you can hear the people talking at your table and not the folks screaming drunk at the other side of the restaurant. That alone makes this a good place.
The food is extremely diverse and my omelet was good. The cook had 5 omelets going all at once and he did it all with one hand. The sheer volume of food available should satisfy any human. Any.
The mimosa was fine and they kept it coming.
The decor is tired and they really aren't set up for seating more than 4--5 with a chair set up at the end of a booth.
But again, if you want quiet and you can afford $50 all in, then this is fine.
Desi, our server is OUTSTANDING What a great employee... I want her everytime I come for brunch...
You got very lucky with her Beacon Bar and Grill...
Overall good Saturday brunch experience.
Service was good, they did not read the notes in the reservation and we did not have a separate quiet area for our meeting as we did before. They were kind enough to move us to an appropriate area. All turned out well.
Our server, Jackie, was excellent and we were impressed with the variety and quality of the food and beverages.
Our section was perfect! We were doing a gratitude brunch and we were in a secluded part of the restaurant. It was not overly crowded but you would have thought it was because they completely forgot about us. I mean for at least 20 minutes, we didn’t get mimosas, our orders taken, nothing.
We finally got our first round of mimosas and no more for another 15 minutes and may I remind you that our order still had not been taken. I finally had to go to the bar and request that a manager be sent to our table BUT the manager never came and after ten minutes, I had to make the request again.
The manager finally came and gave the reason of the kitchen being backed up because they had several large parties but what does the kitchen have to do with mimosas?
The food was okay but what food is not okay when you have had to wait around for so long.
I LOVE Beacon Bar & Grill’s happy hour but will not go back for brunch or anything else for that matter. Our bill was not discounted and we had to repay for parking because we were there for over 2 hours.
Unfortunately, the Beacon Bar and Grill was not like I remembered it. The décor was totally different and did not lend that extravagant feel, also the service was just okay. There seemed to have been only two people working and they tried to be attentive but it just wasn't happening. Some of the food was lackluster, I enjoyed the fried chicken, the waffles, and the mac n cheese. The broiled shrimp was overcooked and tasted pasty, the curried salmon was tasteless and unseasoned, the corned beef hash was bland, and the bacon was overdone. I use to patronize the Beacon at least two to three times a year, this experience was not to their usual standard to which I've been accustomed. Perhaps the Chef was having an off day, or things just sat because it wasn't exceptionally busy. I hope to have brunch there again in the near future, hopefully their standards would have returned.
It’s been a while since I’d been to brunch at the Beacon. It was not as much of a hassle to get seated as
Is experience before, but it still appears to be a popular spot for the Sunday Brunch Buffet. There selections were more expansive than I remember, with plenty of meat dishes for this non-pork eater.
The food was generally tasty, though their crab leg and lobster offerings did not look very appetizing and I’m told the crab legs were old. That’s disappointing. Again, most of the offerings I tasted were good - if under-seasoned.
Lastly, while they offer bottomless mimosas- they are light in the champagne. I didn’t try the screw driver or Bloody Mary bottomless.
For the price- it’s still a good deal.
My girls and i went for Sunday brunch & had an amazing time. Desi was an awesome waitress & next time i go back i will request her table! The food at the beacon was amazing as well 😁.
A little skeptical at first look and there being no hostess at all. But the food was very good. It definitely exceeded my expectations. Food came very quick. Service was a tiny bit slow. And Happy Hour prices were PHENOMENAL.
The price has gone up - it is RIDICULOUS expensive! Also, the omelet guy was very unfriendly. Did not care for the way he treated me and my partner.
This restaurant never disappoints. Great find, food and place
The dish I ordered was nothing like the traditional recipe I expected. It was a very poor version unfortunately.
Tons of buffet food however nothing was made to order except the omelets. I remember when waffles were made to order. Our waiter splashed mimosas all over our table and watched over us as we left our tip. The quality of this brunch has definitely gone downhill.
Was charged $55 for food I could get at Golden Corral when the Sunday before, brunch included lobster, jumbo shrimp and other premium seafood items. I addressed my concerns to the server, exec chef & manager and each replied, 'so sorry'! Was extremely dissatisfied! What a complete rip off! I bought my Mom there as treat given how much of seafood lover she is but sad to say, see was disappointed as well although she appreciated the gesture and my thoughtfulness.
I truly expected a great experience comparable to the one I had the Sunday, before but it was far from it! 👎👎👎👎☹️☹️☹️
Restaurant was NOT OPEN. But that did not prevent OpenTable from accepting a reservation and then MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL OR BOOK A NEW RESERVATION ELSEWHERE.
Done with open table. And this restaurant.
Never can go wrong with a Beacon brunch! Whether you have a large party or just you and a friend, they will accommodate you.
We have been going to the Beacon Bar and Grill for almost 15 years. It's always an adventure. Desi is our requested server and she is incredible. I like that fact that in addition to the usual brunch fare, the chef always includes new and very different choices. Yesterday, the salads, desserts, and fruit included things I had never seen among their choices before. Kudos to the chef for keeping our taste buds intertained.
My experiences here have always been exceptional. Good and friendly staff and our servers were very accommodating as always! I couldn't have found a better place to celebrate my daughter's 40th Birthday! She was pleased, especially with that Lobster on the brunch bar, as well as my 7 yr old grand-daughter, she was overstuffed as she had to have one too! Best place to really enjoy family time!
Not the greatest quality of food. The Cobb salad looked like something I could have thrown together at a Pizza Ranch Buffet.
I was not impressed at all, about all I liked was the decor. The food was nothing special and the place was empty. That should have been my 1st clue. The skybar is nice but the drinks (if you can call them that) are weak.
I've been here twice, once for a happy hour with colleagues and once with my roommates for drinks. The atmosphere on the bottom floor is very stale, and both times there was almost no one there. The waiter tried to pressure me and my co-workers into staying at the table when we learned we couldn't order from the HH menu except for at the bar, and it was super awkward and unprofessional. The decor is nice, but the lack of any type of ambiance or crowd almost nullifies that. The rooftop upstairs is a cool vibe, and the drinks are solid enough, but our bartender was AWFUL. She didn't even greet us, ask how we're doing, or offer up any suggestions; just stood there with her arms crossed and stared at us, pressuring us to order. It's not like we were holding up dozens of people behind us, the place was only sparsely populated. I don't plan on ever coming back here unless I absolutely have to. Avoid. And if you do go, note that they build the tip into the bill at the bar; don't tip the snooty bartenders extra if you can avoid it!
No air! It was entirely too hot in the restaurant that Sunday. They had several oscillating floor fans, but it was not helping.
The Beacon Bar and Grill is exactly what you would expect from a hotel bar and grill. Food is just fine; although the menu is limited.
Worth noting - the staff and servers were all gracious and proessional
The food was good with a great variety
