While i have been here several times this was thr first at a later time. Food wasnt fresh and was running low and they werent replenishing. Not exactly my best experience
Great brunch! Food was really good, lots of choices, great service. Only downside was they kept running out of plates.
Let me start off saying, we had a reservation for a party of 8 with special seating request and the accommodations were on point. The check-in process needs to be tweaked but upon entering the restaurant the ambiance is fabulous. The brunch is to die for! The selection of foods was varied and plentiful. A wide selection of foods to choose from (Specially made French toast, waffles w/your choice of strawberries 🍓 and whipped cream station to their quick whatever you want omelette stations including shrimp to the wide variety of meats selections (bacon, two types of sausages, fried chicken, lamb and prime-rib), oh and their surprise seafood 🦞 selection tasty steamed shrimp and lobster pieces, Alaskan crab legs and lots more hot and tasty foods even their Grits were just right. The large spread of fruits and salads were beautifully displayed. After enjoying BBG’s delicious food, the price was delightful and easy to swallow. 😆
One member of our party said they generally do not like buffet style but this set-up was classy. Well this review says it all. Our party of 8 can not wait and is looking 👀 forward to coming back again!
Kudos to our server, Dominic👍🏽
Dark, dingy.... poor "welcome" to the venue. Food was OK... limited menu.
My daughter enjoyed celebrating her 21st birthday brunch at the Beacon. I waiter made her experience a memorable one.
Beacon was great! Our waitress, Desi, was amazing! In addition to the great food and atmosphere, Desi really contributed to how much of a great time we had! Will definitely be back!
The food was great, the service was terrible.
Beacon was a great brunch spot!! I will definitely be back! :)
My family and I have frequented this establishment numerous times over the years. Usually we have great experiences but this time was a complete opposite. Miriam (our waitress) was very inattentive to our table and often rude. Although Amine was helpful he alone could not make up the disappointment we felt with Miriam.
I love this brunch. It is amazing. The food was so tasty and the crowd was perfect for the setting as well. Also, the waiters were very friendly and they helped with whatever it was that we needed. Been a few times, they never disappoint.
I love this place the food is great and the services is awesome. The staff is always there when you need something and they are right on it right away. The price is awesome.
Let me start by saying brunch here is amazing... But had dinner here last night, NOPE! There was no one at hostess stand and the bartender actually sat us down. It took the waiter in a completely empty restaurant what seemed like forever (15 mins) to acknowledge us in any way. I was surprised the menu on OpenTable was different and with few choices. The food was okay but serving pickled beets and asparagus with anything seemed odd. I had pork chop and my guest had crab cakes... Just okay. Sorry Beacon, I will not be back!
Service was slow and meager despite the place being almost empty. Candy-pop music was blaring and acoustics terrible. Prices were absurdly high. I guess my wife and I should have known that the 'Beyond Burgers' that we ordered were not meat, but we didn't, and the menu didn't mention that fact. The food we were served was good, but not great, and I would never, ever eat here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone. Too many other good options in the area...
The food was delicious. There was a huge variety of items to choose from. The mimosas never ended. I would definitely come back. The only con was that the price advertised on the hotel's website was different than what was charged.
Nice cozy place. Nothing out of the ordinary
Desi is an exceptional server. The food was great. The salmon was cold. The seafood paella was just thrown together. Everything else was delicious. The kale fruit salad was good. The host was not welcoming. He was on the phone and not behind the desk. We decided to walk in. No acknowledgement until we started walking in then he started walking quickly to get behind the hostess desk to help us.
They need to improve their wine list. The only drinkable Chardonnay is the house and it is not great. The menu is too minimal. The news more choices but if you live avocados go.
Food was great for all you can eat and drink, loved it and i will def be back!
We went for the brunch buffet. It was ok, but bottomless the mimosas would be the only thing I’d really look forward to coming back for. Also, we were charged significantly more than the per person price that was displayed on their website that day.
We recently celebrated a birthday with a group of 15 at Sunday brunch. We were seated in a private area and Rosa (our waitress) was great. She was very attentive and topped the celebration with a cheesecake sparkly for the birthday girl. The food was tasty and you can’t beat the unlimited mimosas and bloody Mary’s. All in all, the Beacon was wonderful and made it a Birthday brunch to remember!
This place used to be good years ago. For the price, there are better bottomless brunches in DC so I wouldn’t recommend going here. Menu does not completely match what’s posted online and vague titles for some buffet stations like “fish” which had multiple types of fish prepared different ways mixed together in the same tray and “assorted appetizers” which had fried shrimp, egg rolls, and other random fried food all mixed together in the same tray. For $50/person, it was basic and they can do better.
Food was awesome as usual. Met with some friends for brunch on a Sunday. The choices and variety of food was exceptional and excellent. It was my 4th time dining at The Beacon. Would come again.
It was my husband's birthday so we celebrated with brunch. This was our first time and the food was phenomenal!
Tiffany was amazing on every aspect & I’ll be back to become her favorite customer.
Pleasant waiter, accommodated our grandchildren, being there was no children’s menu.
Great French fries.
The food and service is always great. I love this place
Another great time wirh friends at the Beacon. The bottomless mimosas brunch is the best!
I went for Sunday Brunch. Brunch is buffet style and comes with bottomless mimosas. It'll run you about $45-$50 but it is well worth it. Customer service is fantastic. Our waitress Desi (sp.) was very attentive. My mimosa glass and my water glass was never empty. :)
It was a horrible experience. I love coming for Sunday brunch but this was my first time coming for the 3 course brunch on Saturday and it was horrible. I asked the server was the yogurt parfait sweet and what kind of fruit cake with the parfait and she said it was sweet but came with melon fruit which I thought was odd. So I ordered a Caesar salad that was horrible with wilted lettuce and it was bland. Only to see a yogurt parfait come out and go to another table with fruits and berries SMDH. Then whenever the entrees came out, my steak was over cooked but I was so hungry I just ate it! My friend had to send his back. It was totally a waste of money! I could’ve cooked at home and bought champagne and had a cheaper and better experience than I did at the beacon. After all the complaints, a manager didn’t even come to the table to touch the table and/or to see if it was a lack of service, quality, or the food. SHAME ON YOU BEACON! #horribleservice
I have been there several time but this was a bad experience. I had requested a table in the lower level but that was being cleaned (at lunch time, oh my). The table we were seated at was over a heating vent, so it was too hot at first then too cold when they turned it off (not able to adjust temperature). Two in our party order an item on the menu, only to find out they didn't have it. One person ordered fish (salmon) and it was bad (smelled funny). She had to return it. When she selected another entree, she requested no onions and it came back with extra onions. This place has been going down for some time now, maybe they need new management.
Loved going for Dinner at the Beacon. The service was excellent and the food was delicious.
We went there for brunch. We made a reservation at 9 thinking we could do their $35 brunch special (three courses plus bottomless mimosas or champagne) but were told that you are not allowed to do that until 11. We hadn’t seen that anywhere on their website but could have been an oversight on our part/DC law we aren’t aware of. So we decided to go walk around for two hours and made another reservation to come back at 11. What upset us is that the hostess was not helpful at all. She was rather rude and indifferent. Not very good with customer service. Didn’t help facilitate another reservation for us. I don’t think you should employ someone as a hostess who does not have people skills.
Overall we had a good time. The waiter was incredibly kind. The food was meh. Kind of tasted like reheated freezer food but honestly we had gone there for the mimosas anyhow. I’d say we had 8-10 while we were there. They were constantly filling. And for $35 I’m okay with subpar food.
Would go back again but they should think about moving their hostess to another location.
Food was delicious. Bottomless/Unlimited mimosas. Our server Decsi (hope it's the right spelling) was the absolute best! Definitely will go back.
Always a great experience. We always sit in Desi's section. She gives exceptional service.
Great atmosphere! The buffet brunch on Sunday is a frequent go-to. I love the waffle bar and the delicious options of desserts.
Table wasn’t ready but very good service otherwise. Buffet options were not replenished quickly.
Scallops were fishy and chewy. Crab cakes were full of crab shell pieces. The waiter, though kind, had trouble hearing us over the noise, and the ambiance was that of a run down hotel cafeteria.
Average food, but service was good.
