This is my group's go-to brunch and we enjoyed the new items added the menu! Keep up the good work BBG.....
I met my 4 friends here for a Birthday Brunch. Literally the best food and very “potent” mimosas. Definitely coming back!
Always a good experience. We are regulars for special occasions.
I’ve always come back because it’s the only restaurant where you are not rushed to eat and scoot! You are comfortable and can be there until you are ready to leave without any pressure to leave! Experience the food and drink in their welcoming atmosphere!
My dating clients had a nice time and enjoyed your restaurant. Thank you for taking good care of them.
Prices have gone up but food has gone down
I have always been pleased with my experience here but it was just ok this time. I didn't like that the Shrimp & Grits had pork sausage or any sausage in it (I'm allergic to pork). I didn't notice the sausage until after the food was on my plat with everything else. My portion didn't have any sausage but still I had to discard the plate. The fried seafood combination was stale and too dried out to eat at all, I tried.
A+! Always a great time. I go as often as I can!
I love The Beacon! My friends I go go almost every sunday for brunch.
Took my boyfriend for brunch to celebrate his birthday. This was my second time going to the Beacon and again I 'm completely satisfied. The server Desi was great she was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and well prepared. We enjoyed the unlimited mimosas as a added bonus.
Disappointed in the food. Poorly seaoned. The restaurant which is quite lovely was empty except for us. Maybe that's a good indication. Too bad.
It was higher than normal due to having seafood this week. Seafood didn’t warrant the high price for brunch.
We had a great time for our brunch date! My partner and I come here all the time! The lady with the red short hair was attacking other employees. So my partner spoke to a manager and got her to stop being so rude to her coworkers! After that, the experience was great! Also, please fix the music!!!!!!
Food was amazing, especially the waffles!!! Only issue we had was that they played the same Ariana grande song the entire two hours we were there. Other than that, was a fantastic experience!
The new manager is great. Professional and genuine. She had such a positve vibe. Liked the new menu!
Great server and staff!!
Steep prices but really pretty atmosphere (in the dining room area). The service was decent but we got overcharged for some items and it took awhile for them to change the bill. The server did not seem to know the menu very well, but he was very polite so maybe he was new. Our dinner was good but not sure it was worth the price. The highlight was definitely the cocktails, so I would return for drinks. Definitely a good place for a date or business lunch.
The staff was great!!! They were very attentive!!
Excellent service. We had Desi. She was professional! Cleared our plates right away. Always checked in on us. The food was hot and delicious. All the servers made you feel welcomed and got you anything you wanted or needed. I felt the fine dining experience at a Sunday Brunch. It was better than expected. I will definitely return.
The service was kind of shaky in the beginning due to the host being on the phone with an irate customer whom claimed they had reservations, but did not, and ultimately lead him to hang up on them abruptly due to the customer yelling through the phone, which delayed us from being seated, but due to both myself and my girlfriend working with patients and clients, we understood. The restaurant was kind of hot and humid, but that may be due to the fact that it is connected to a hotel and the front of the restaurant, where we were seated, was open to the hotel lobby, which had a lot of traffic and kind of loud which made for an uncomfortable(weather wise) evening, but the food and service of our waiter more than made up for it, everything that he recommended was awesome and he made sure that my girlfriend’s bday dinner was awesome by getting us free shots, which were not so good, but still free and this awesome mango cheese cake. The lighting and ambiance was very good as well. The bathroom by the host/hostess desk needs some AC in it ASAP and maybe should be checked by staff at certain time points due to it being kind of dirty. Overall, a good selection for my girlfriend’s bday dinner while we were in DC for the weekend and very close to bars for after, in walking distance.
Saturday “birthday brunch” with family.... did not expect to only be offered a 3 course meal-choice of a smoothie, salad or parfait and a choice of a “slice” of carrot cake or red velvet for the third course.
Main course selections were decent enough. Mimosas were nothing to rave about. They are not selfish with the refills.
Waitress was pleasant considering what she was dealing with.
No mention of the birthday that I marked through Open Table.
The entire restaurant only had 4 groups seated-including ours. ( we were 7 adults and a baby) The other 3 tables were comprised of about 8-10 young adults of the same organization, as I saw them move from table to table interacting with each other.
Dining experience was fine until one of the tables were “cut off” from mimosa service b/c a couple of them were intoxicated. Once they were informed they had been cut off is when they became louder and started using even more profanity and offensive language. Took that table about 30 min to figure out they should probably leave.
Not the experience I would want for anyone else dining here with a family. I’m embarrassed I chose it, too many choices in DC to settle for this place again.
We always have a great time at BBG
It appears that the quality of some of the food has gone down since I last visited. However, it's still a good place for brunch.
The restaurant should offer more Turkey products. I was limited on portions.
I love the wonderful food options for vegetarians. Great service and GREAT food!
Great find. Quite but fun with great food for lunch. We enjoyed it thoroughly.
Sunday brunch was very good. Wide range of choices. Most items were typical brunch items. But also some unique items - seafood
pastas, salmon dishes. Very large choice of desserts. Servers were very good about clearing throughout the meal and refilling the coffee and mimosas. We look forward to returning.
The guy at check in is rude. He lacks curious measures. He is quickly defensive. He is rude. There are effective ways to explain process and procedure without being nasty and irritated. I enjoy your food and atmosphere. But staff has become absolutely uncomfortable to talk to.
Itvwas ust great all around. food reservations waiter. Have already mentioned to others to go there.
Best brunch I have had. Staffing and food choices are amazing.
Good brunch spot!! Food is awesome and they ensure to refill your glass with mimosas!
Very quiet when we went, a little overpriced
Decent place to eat on Monday night. It's definitely a hotel bar though, don't expect anything too over the top. Drinks were decent.
Tried to order after dinner Amaretto - out. Tried to replace with port - out! Bar might want to consider stocking the items on the menu.
I think Beacon is under new management. I've been plenty of times before and the food was amazing. This time it was horrible!! Fish had no seasoning, mac and cheese and Alfredo was very dry. I don't eat meat, so there weren't that many options for me, which I was okay with for the most part. I more than likely will not return or recommend.
One of my favorite spots to have Brunch. Only complaint that I do have is that the temperature inside was very very warm, which made it unbearable after you had a few mimosas. Other than that this was a great place to eat
Sunday brunch at Beacon Grill was a very disappointing experience. The brunch is expensive but the service and food were nowhere worth the $45 a person. I was not impressed with the variety of foods presented. Most of the hot dishes were over cooked and tasted like they have been reheated over and over. Service was slow and not responsive. All in all a very disappointing experience.
Just OK place. Staff seem to be overworked and become increasingly irritable as the evening goes on. This place is under new management from a few months ago. I would have recommended it back then, but their cost cutting measures have undermined the quality they had. Too bad, because it could be a gold mine! I'd pass on going back!
The food was amazing. The restaurant wasn’t too busy or crowded. The server was very attentive and came over to check on us frequently. I can’t wait to go back.
Saturday brunch date for our wedding anniversary. Not crowded which was great, but all the servers were busy watching world cup and not serving. Couldn't even find our server when we needed the bill, no host at host stand either. Food was ok, drinks were small and weak. Not sure what happened here today, but I'm hoping it was just a glitch for one day.
Wednesday night at 8pm. We walked in there was no one to greet us. There was a stand, but no one there so we walked into a bar looking area which is the "Bar" of Beacon Bar and Grill. A few people at the bar but no one in the "Grill." Have to say that after that the night was amazing. We were greeted graciously by our waitress. Drinks were ordered and brought out quickly. The bread was amazing with soft butter. No macerating the bread with frozen butter. We ordered the Mediterranean Tasting Platter with hummus, baba gonoush and tabbouleh with pita and vegetables. It was fantastic. Seriously, super tasty and the vegetables were crunchy and the pita warm. Wish it came with more vegetables and pita as we ran out of them before we finished the platter. Dinner was lobster and Shrimp spring risotto and vegetarian pasta with shrimp. All their pasta is made fresh daily on the premises. Nice gentle flavors. Not heavy on the oils. We had beer and wine. The wine glasses were 4 ounces so I wish there were more. This was a very enjoyable evening. Maybe it was because we were the only 2 in the place but it was quiet and conversation was not screaming as it is in other places in D.C. I highly recommend this place. The food is amazing. The staff attentive. More people should try this out.
