Beach House Restaurant- Kauai
Our philosophy at the Beach House is simple - take some good old-fashioned Hawaiian hospitality, blend it with a Pacific Rim food experience and add an outstanding view to deliver an experience that delights all the senses. Our talented kitchen team makes the most of local ingredients by sourcing our fish directly from Island fisherman and our beef and coffee from neighboring ranches. We incorporate local fruits and vegetables whenever possible, and delight in being able to find new and innovative ways to use the resources that surround us on the Garden Isle. Our breads, buns, and desserts are all made from scratch in house and we proudly feature the works of renowned local artists throughout the restaurant.
My wife had the green beans appetizer and enjoyed them. Spicy flavour and beans were well cooked. The portion was quite big for a pupu, easily could be shared. I had the lobster deviled eggs for $20. It was good, though I felt under seasoned. 2 eggs, not worth $20. (note, Open Table says it’s only $19).
For mains, my wife’s fish and coconut stew was good but not outstanding. I had the seafood linguini and this was merely ok. Way too much oil or butter sauce - the pool in the bottom of the plate just looked like oil to me. The pasta was spaghetti, not linguini (not a big deal) but was cooked way past al dente. The taste was bland, badly under seasoned. The seafood itself was cooked well.
The restaurant ambiance was good and the service - Jessa(sp?) - was very good. My wife is celiac and this was dealt with well.
IMO, not worth a return visit. There are many other seafood options in the area that serve up better meals and value.
The kale salad was lightly dressed and a generous pre dinner salad. The ahi was over salted and too much soy. Would nor recommend..would not return.
Overall good.. but food was a little salty and had to wait for 15 plus minutes before a waiter came to greet us and ask if we wanted a drink
I love this place bit was pretty disappointed in the meal I had. The fish entree was okay but the rice was dry and flavorless. I’ve had very good meals here in the past so perhaps this was just an off night.
Great food. One of the best settings on Earth!!! That was it great food and even better setting.
Great service, great food and a view that can’t be beat!
The Beach House is a great setting, Food was excellent! Be careful when reserving a table. We clearly ask for front row beach side. Host said she couldn't seat us there as we were only 2 people. Yet there were many other tables that seated 4 which only had 2.
Then after 20 minutes she came along and seated another 2 in front of us at a table for 4. Go figure
Our server was outstanding and had nothing to do with the poor quality of the hostess.
Had a great meal with wonderful service!
Vacation Dining. Overrated and very expensive. Food was average. View was spectacular.
The food, service and overall experience were OUTSTANDING. Kayla was our server and WAS A DELIGHT! The views were magnificent and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND having Dinner there at least ONCE on your trip to Kauai!
Came here for Thanksgiving dinner and made a reservation for one of the few remaining times on OpenTable - 8:15pm. The 3 course meal was reasonably priced at $42, but we were disappointed to learn the bread pudding dessert had run out. Our entree portion was heavy on the turkey and mashed potatoes, lean on the veggies. The pumpkin bisque soup started was delicious. Ambiance was nice with live music and tables on the sand.
I have severe food allergies. I try to order very carefully and not disrupt the kitchen. I discussed it with the waiter. He said the sauce labeled on the menu as vegan had oyster sauce in it which meant I could not eat the sauce. I was offered a different sauce on my veggie stir fry. The food came out without sauce and swimming in oil. After sending it back, the manager came over and apologized. They did make me a different food item but my whole family was done by the time my food came.
Noisy due to a large intoxicated party of 10 next to us
Food not so great for the price. Amazing views
Everything about this place is fantastic.
Parking can be a hassle so make sure you valet.
Thanksgiving / 33rd Anniversary
Family thanksgiving dinner :) it was the best thanksgiving we have ever had!!!
Holiday Dinner and was very good. The service was good and Pops the waiter a delight. I think is they curtailed the picture taking on the lawn the ambiance would be better.
The view and ambiance can’t be beat. Just don’t expect a high quality meal. Service was poor, fish was WAY overcooked and the menu did not offer one appetizer that seemed appealing.
Fantastic way to spend Thanksgiving! Service was amazing!
Thanksgiving dinner
Thanks to Edwin and the staff for a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner! We will be back!
I was a little disappointed with the food. I’ve always had great food and experiences here but was let down by the lack of freshness with the deviled eggs and soggy fries that came with the burger .
Excellent service view and food!
Clearly, this is my very favorite restaurant on Kauai! Beautiful views, outstanding service, accommodated allergies, and we got to see the parakeets arrive in the trees! This was a special treat for our 8 month old grandson! It was a magnificent evening.
Pops was super informative and always steered us right. Food was amazing and the MaiTai really is the best :)
Great atmosphere and great food!
Excellent view and great space for taking some memory pictures. The food is amazing, especially the daily catch with wasabi butter. Service is impeccable. Really one of the best places in Hawaii.
I was telling the server that my husband and I had come here in the mid-80s for the first time pre-Hurricaine which destroyed the restaurant. Over the years we come back and always enjoy it. The Mai Tai is the best!
Great food! Great location! A must on Kauai!
This is a fun and delicious restaurant paradise.
We sat on the lanai and enjoyed the sunset over the ocean while enjoying our dinner. Our waiter was an excellent server and had a great sense of humor. The ambiance, the food and drinks and dessert were fantastic. We make sure we go to The Beach House every time we visit Kauai. It never disappoints.
The views are awesome but the place is a dump. Poorly maintained, tables that look like crap and food that is mediocre
First off, the location and views are amazing. Service was impeccable. My picky eater son licked his plate clean. He does not eat fish and he ate all of his before I even started eating mine. Will go back for sure!!! Oh and that strawberry cream pie that a 75 year old makes for them is flipping amazing!!!!
Always a favorite choice for lunch or dinner. The fish and chips for lunch, or the filet for dinner.
Utterly amazing other than the gnats, but that’s not y’all’s fault. The kale salad is fantastic.
We came here for the last night of our honeymoon and the view at this gorgeous restaurant speaks for itself. We watched a gorgeous sunset and took a few pictures before sitting down for dinner. The green beans and pumpkin ravioli were both AMAZING and the stars of the show for me, both very flavorful. Our main courses were great as well and my husband especially liked his fresh catch with lobster. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Kauai!
We booked this for a very special 35th anniversary dinner, and we weren't disappointed. Our friends travel around the world and eat at the best restaurants, and they were extremely impressed with the food, the service and the gorgeous view of the ocean and sunset.
The food was amazing and the elder vice was fantastic. The drinks were tasty and the green bean appetizer was so good!! Definitely worth the visit!
Wifes 40th Birthday. Great food
Our waiter Edwin was very nice and the meal was outstanding.
