Beach House Restaurant- Kauai
Our philosophy at the Beach House is simple - take some good old-fashioned Hawaiian hospitality, blend it with a Pacific Rim food experience and add an outstanding view to deliver an experience that delights all the senses. Our talented kitchen team makes the most of local ingredients by sourcing our fish directly from Island fisherman and our beef and coffee from neighboring ranches. We incorporate local fruits and vegetables whenever possible, and delight in being able to find new and innovative ways to use the resources that surround us on the Garden Isle. Our breads, buns, and desserts are all made from scratch in house and we proudly feature the works of renowned local artists throughout the restaurant.
This was the best meal we had while on Kauai. Ordered the arugula & goat cheese salad to start, the fresh catch of mongchong & keahole lobster as the main entree, finished with strawberry creme pie, all were outstanding. Perfect way to celebrate our last dinner on the island. Also ordered the makahiki punch that was delicious as well. Eric our waiter was great. Definitely on our list of places to return to on next visit.
Very crowded. Very expensive. The view is terrific and free
What a great fish dinner we had at the Beach House at our ocean front table watching the sunset.
Cannot be beat and would highly recommend.
The food was amazing! Our server Joshua was outstanding!
Pops was the best waiter I’ve ever had, very knowledgeable, friendly and kind
Excellent food for the 4 of us, we all had different fresh seafood dishes. Our server was great, and the sunset at this restaurant can’t be beat!
Mediocre food at bloated prices. Great view and friendly servers but don’t go for the food. Went for lunch, and won’t be going back
Best meal and best service we had during our trip to Kauai. The filet and ahi were both amazing. Our waiter Josh was one of the best waiters we have ever had. How often does a waiter shake your hand and introduce himself by his first and last name. I think Josh knew the menu better than the chef himself. Make sure to book a time so you’ll see the sunset as we just missed it and that was our only regret. An expensive night but worth every penny.
Couple things....am I imagining it, or is this group of employees this year really happy? Been in a few times, at the bar and at the tables, and it just seems like the staff are happy and having fun with it all. Nice vibe.
Regarding this visit. we had a fabulous evening. The sun even came out for a bit! Our waiter was superb....knowledgeable, attentive and fun. Not positive on his name...sorry.....we think Jason? He remembered we wanted pictures outside and reminded us when we did not do it. He took great pics of us, and overall, he really made our night. And our drinks were perfect, apps outstanding and our entrees really good. As usual, the Beach House did not disappoint. Mahalo!
We had a delicious meal here in a beautiful setting on the south shore of Kauai. We ate here decades ago on our honeymoon. We weren’t sure what to expect given this restaurant was hit hard by a hurricane in the 90s but they rebuilt and it’s even better. Our meals were delicious and our waiter, Edwin “Pops” was the best. Ask for him and for a window table. You won’t be disappointed.
We went for an early dinner at 445pm and got in early so we enjoyed a great happy hour in the lounge area on the patio. They had a musician in for some soft music that wasn't too loud and was pleasing. Caleb took great care of us and our table had a perfect view, he suggested we could stay there for our dinner which was a great idea. He knew the specials and menu so well he really helped us make informed orders, such a nice experience. Caleb made the night even better, thank you!
I was expecting more. The service was great, but the food was just ok. We each had fish and it was fine but not $49 an entree great. My husband orders a salad and he said it tasted like leftovers from the day before. My fish came with two different sauces and they had no taste. The biggest disappointment was the desert. We each had the banana cream pie that we were told was amazing. The crust was so hard you needed a knife to cut it and the whip cream on top had a weird chemical taste. The banana cream was good but you had to separate it from the rest of the pie to enjoy.
Janette’s 60th birthday with her eight girlfriends.
The restaurant is noted for its locally caught fish prepared in creative ways with innovative accompaniments. Wasabi-Buttered Island Fish, opaka, the night I was there, was encrusted with a wasabi coating that had a true wasabi flavor, but did not overpower the sweet, flaky essence of the perfectly cooked filet. Plated with feathered sesame rice, bok choy and mushrooms, the dish offered an interesting combination of flavors and textures. Also enjoyable was the coconut corn chowder, a rich, thick presentation with just the right amount of coconut milk. Save room for dessert. The banana cream and the strawberry pies are decadent, made with local fruit, are fresh, but not coyingly sweet, showIng the deft hand of the pastry chef.
The wine list is extensive and has options from around the world to fit any pocketbook.
The floor, under the control of David, operates seamlessly despite a full house.
Kudos also go to our server, Elisha, who knew the menu exceedingly well, and offered excellent suggestions with an engaging manner and a non-stop smile. She made my party’s dinner a truly fun experience. Judge K
Menu is not as good as in previous visits. Service was wonderful
We had a lovely birthday dinner- Mahi Mahi was fantastic and our server Mark was exceptional!
the only disappointment was the limited dessert menu and the cream pie desserts
Pops, our server was fantastic! Great night overall.
Food was perfectly cooked. We had the filet mignon and the seafood linguini. We were seated by the window ave service was extremely friendly and responsive.
Food and service was outstanding
The food was unique, fresh, and delicious. We asked for a special table for our anniversary and had a lovely spot under the veranda. Service was impeccable.
Such a beautiful view to go with an amazing meal! Loved everything we had and had great service.
Pops was our server and he was extremely welcoming from the beginning. He is very knowledgeable about the foods that are prepared and served at the Beach House. The service was impeccable, the food was outstanding, and the atmosphere was perfect. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the south shore of Kauai! Mai Tai was delicious...definitely living up to its recommendation of best of Hawaii!
Absolutely beautiful setting and fabulous mia tia! The service was excellent at the bar.
We had an incredible experience at the Beach House Restaurant. From the fresh line caught fish to our knowledgeable and friendly server, Joshua, it was hands down one of the best dinners we’ve had in a long time. We’ll be sure to visit again.
Pops was an awesome server! Food was fantastic!! A must go to!!
Very nice and yummy food!
Beach House Restaurant a real gem and stands out even among the many good choices of beachfront dinner venues. Large selection of fresh seafood as well as steaks. Great service which was delivered uncrushed and attentive. Mai Tai was special as well. Seared tuna really good as well as Ahi main dish. Definitely will return on next visit.
Best sunset location, excellent food, and the service by Mark was excellent! The wine menu could use more reasonably priced mid range Chardonnay.
Excellent food and customer service and of course, the VIEW!! Can’t beat eating lunch with the ocean right at your fingertips!
This was our second visit to The Beach House. The view, food and service are fantastic. We truly enjoyed celebrating our anniversary a bit early while we were in Kauai.
Perfection... the food was exquisite and seasoned just right! The wait staff was great, Matt was wonderful! The view cannot be beat... perfect sunset! Our must go place when on island...
The food was outstanding! We each tried different catch of the day specialty dishes and honestly have not had anything better elsewhere. Truly exceptionally prepared fresh fish that made the entire experience wonderful.
Probably our favorite restaurant in the world! You can’t beat the view, and the food is amazing. Our service from Edwin aka Pops was also top notch. Mahalo and see you again soon!
Great place for the best sunsets good drinks and excellent food. Recommend it to everyone
The service was pretty inadequate. Our server said he would split our salad to share and he didn’t. We asked for olive oil for the bread and he never brought it. They were also out of the 2 entrees we were hoping to get.
Ok food. Floors were dirty. Parking a challenge. Somewhat loud. Had to ask server twice for a glass of wine. Great view. Food flavor and presentation just basic and nothing special. But better places for same money like Tidepools and Merrimans. I wouldn’t go back.
Views are unbeatable. Beautiful sunset. One drawback to the open air seating is the fruit flies/gnats that kept dying in my drink. I had to cover it with a coaster. Pie was just ok. Coconut cream was more gelatinous than creamy/custardy. Service was excellent though. I was 30 minutes late for my reservation due to traffic but they still accommodated me after I called to notify them. Made it in time for sunset and the hostesses wished me happy birthday. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, too. They accommodated my daughter’s picky taste by changing the starch that came with the steak. Very appreciated! Almost perfect place, would recommend despite the few imperfections. Also, they have inexpensive valet which is super helpful in that area at sunset.
Wir haben mehr erwartet. Das Essen war zwar gut aber auch nicht herausragend so dass der Preis gerechtfertigt wäre.
