Beach House Restaurant- Kauai
Our philosophy at the Beach House is simple - take some good old-fashioned Hawaiian hospitality, blend it with a Pacific Rim food experience and add an outstanding view to deliver an experience that delights all the senses. Our talented kitchen team makes the most of local ingredients by sourcing our fish directly from Island fisherman and our beef and coffee from neighboring ranches. We incorporate local fruits and vegetables whenever possible, and delight in being able to find new and innovative ways to use the resources that surround us on the Garden Isle. Our breads, buns, and desserts are all made from scratch in house and we proudly feature the works of renowned local artists throughout the restaurant.
It was a great meal, the service was excellent I would definitely recommend it to everyone
The food and view are both awesome. Make sure your reservation is before sunset so you can enjoy that!
This was our first visit to the Beach House. We heard others raving about it around the pool at our resort. Boy were they right !
Great food, amazing view and super service. We will be back.
We came there during the sunset on a birthday trip for my husband. It as beautiful!
Great service and wonderful view if you can get a seat outside or falling the ocean. If we hadn't gotten a seat overlooking the ocean I wouldn't have gone here, but we did and were so pleased. Friendly staff.
Excellent location meal and service. Had he mong chong and lobster - outstanding!
Great lunch with a great view
Edwin was wonderful!
A wonderful delicious dinner. Great service and the setting is beautiful!
The ocean front / sunset watching view keeps this restaurant in the running for greatness. Its noise level makes conversation impossible.
The staff is very friendly
Outstanding! Our server Warren knows his way around the dining room. He is descriptive, timely, l and attentive. Spectacular Kauai sunset is unbeatable for a thirtieth Anniversary celebration dinner.
Oh, and the food was great!
The Beach House was Awesome! The ocean views were fantastic and the sunset was spectacular. We even had a nice seaside show when a pod of whales swam by the restaurant. The service was fantastic. Edwin is a longtime waiter there, he gave us excellent suggestions from the watermelon salad, Special Cheif dinners, to the Strawberry desert. We were never rushed, even had time to step out and get some incredible sunset shots and come back to finish dinner. Definitely a highlight and Special occasion.
We have been going to the Beach House almost every year since 1988 and we were disappointed this year with the service. Food for the most part was great except for the uncooked lobster that came out uncooked twice. The mojito that our daughter ordered didn’t even resemble a normal mojito. The manager did come and make right on that mistake. She said they have a new bar hire and that the mojito that was served didn’t even look like a mojito.
I had made an open table reservation a month in advance for a table of 4 on a Thursday night and we were given a table tucked back in the corner. We ended up sitting at the bar facing the ocean for a better view. Guess you need to tip your way to a good table now.
Beach House Restaurant is always a memorable experience. From watching the sunset and surfers from your table to the impeccable service and extraordinary food, you cannot be disappointed. We had the Monkeypod Mai Tai and Faire le fete Cremant, both excellent. One filet with mashed potatoes and one ahi dinner with wasabi mashed potatoes - unbelievable! Dessert was Banana Cream pie, homemade and delicious. Go - you will be glad you did!
We’ve been looking forward to dining at The Beach House for years, having followed it on social media. It exceeded our expectations! The wasabi crusted fish was the best fish I’ve EVER had!!! Margaritas were killer....we went twice in our 4 days on the island. Highly recommend!!
We went for my birthday. The view of the sunset over the water, our amazing server and the fabulous food made it 5 stars!
Amazing view for a fabulous dinner! The Beach House is a must on each visit! The food is amazing! Coconut cream pie is delish!
Several of us ordered the fresh Mong Chong and we all agreed that it was terrible! It was dry and tasteless. Not a very good fish grilled. I also felt like the plate presentation was just so-so. The food seemed plopped on the plate - not very appetizing.
The green bean appetizer was delicious along with the lobster deviled eggs. We talked about the deviled eggs and everyone agreed that the lobster needed to also be mixed in the cooked egg yolk - and if it was we could not tell. It was on top - which was fine.
The views were terrific and the pie dessert was delicious!
First visit was New Year’s week. Many families, etc. casual environment. This visit was back to their regular crowd, older white men (like Congress).
I had a 4:45 reservation through open table we arrived 10 mins early and where told that we would be seated at 4:45 at 4:50 I inquired about being seated and was told in a snotty manner that open table does that and they do not seat until 5:00pm we had been at another event before and rushed to be on time and honor our commitment I excepted the same from them.when ordering my meal I was very clear that I really disdained dry fish and was told that the fish was cooked med rare and would not be dry, sure enough I received cardboard fish, drinks where not served in a timely manner to the point that we turned the last one back because we where ready to leave they did remove it from the bill and the excuse I was given was it Kauai is a tourist town and that is the way it is I live in a tourist town that excuse does not work for me and the restaurant and bar was only half full
Oh how the mighty have fallen. The bartender and cocktails, and the desert (flan with sweet potato ice cream) were superb. Everything else was mediocre. The “Caesar salad” literally looked like bagged lettuce with a prepared (icky) dressing. The pork starter was undercooked and, basically, a tasteless blob of fat. The fish appeared to have been premade, reheated and plated. How on earth can you mess up fish when serving it in Kauai. Trust me - not worth your time or $. Far better places to eat. Stop in for a drink and the sunset then head somewhere else for dinner.
We made the reservation 2 weeks in advance, asking for a table close to the window. They completely ignored our request. We were seated in the bar area in an inside corner. I have been coming to the Beach House since before the original house was devastated by Hurricane Iwa. I have sent dozens of customers it’s way. I think maybe it believes it owns the exclusive franchise on sunsets, which are incredible, but we are checking out all of the competitors.
Servers were careless, mens room was overflowing with trash, food quality was average. Waiter (Mark) was good.
Amazing service, best view on the island, and an all around great experience. So glad we went here at the beginning of the trip so we are able to come back again! Get there at sunset if possible.
I love the beach house! Had the best girls night out here. Dinner was great, service was great by pops! The manger Paul was so sweet, he made sure everything was perfect! Can’t wait to go back!
Sunset dinner is extraordinary
The food was outstanding as was the customer service provided by Mark.
would be 5 stars except for a desert menu that is only cream pies -- must be a chef joke to not include any island deserts.
Perfect spot for sundowners as long as you have a reservation. Food was good but came out rather slowly. It was pretty busy during sunset though so we weren’t surprised.
Great food and service for party of 12 including five kids under 13. Glorious view of Kauai sunset and surfers. Very popular spot so reserve at least 4 weeks in advance.
Our server, Sara, was our best server our entire vacation. We’ve been to Beach House half dozen times in past few years and this year the food was the best it’s ever been. I still find the prices a bit high. But for first time could whole heartedly recommend Beach House!!! Amazing sunset views, fun to watch snorkelers and surfers and outstanding food and service.
Food was good, service was amazing and terrific atmosphere.
Their Mai Tai’s were the best I ever had!
Awesome cocktails and beautiful sunset setting. Entree was mediocre; came out fast in under 10 minutes from ordering. Large, sharing portions for dessert - we had the coconut cream pie and wished we had opted for a second cocktail for dessert instead!
I can’t say enough good things about the Beach House. Fresh seafood was amazing as was the service. We were celebrating a special birthday and all the wait staff were so nice..they gave my daughter a personalized signed card which just made her day. I have to say it’s really spendy so not something we would do regularly but definitely a place to go for a special occasion.
Best restaurant in Poipu - without question! The mahi-mahi is the best on Kauai. The sunset view is spectacular - take photos while enjoying your pre-dinner cocktails!
This is a must for a spectacular view and awesome food and service. Although my wife and I had 7:15 reservations. We googled the time of susnset and arrived 1 hour prior. They have bar seating that faces west and we enjoyed the sunset and our meal from those seats. Amazing.
Everything - from the service, food, drinks, and view, are incredible. Heading back again tomorrow night as it’s the best restaurant on the island.
Great service, no problems coping with Food Allergies, could even adapt the special.
