Beach House Restaurant- Kauai
Our philosophy at the Beach House is simple - take some good old-fashioned Hawaiian hospitality, blend it with a Pacific Rim food experience and add an outstanding view to deliver an experience that delights all the senses. Our talented kitchen team makes the most of local ingredients by sourcing our fish directly from Island fisherman and our beef and coffee from neighboring ranches. We incorporate local fruits and vegetables whenever possible, and delight in being able to find new and innovative ways to use the resources that surround us on the Garden Isle. Our breads, buns, and desserts are all made from scratch in house and we proudly feature the works of renowned local artists throughout the restaurant.
What a delightful evening. The food, the ambiance and the view are just as wonderful as I remembered from our last visit to Kauai. Edwin, our waiter, was friendly & knowledgeable AND he graciously offered to take pictures of my husband & me at sunset. This is a must reservation for every time we visit Kauai. Mahalo!
Food was outstanding, service was top notch and the view was worth a million dollars! Loved our time at Beach House Restaurant. Will be back again when we visit Kauai.
Food was good but nothing spectacular . The ambience is why you come. You get beach front pretty much with any seat in the house.
Arrive early for cocktails on the lawn. Sunset and surfers were amazing.
Wonderful people! Incredible view, fabulous food!
Great views. Very good food but a bit pricy.
My husband loved his coconut seafood stew, I tasted it and agree that it was good. I had the watermelon salad and fish of the day. Nothing to write home about. The salad consisted of mixed greens, watermelon topped with goat cheese. Not much dressing. The panko on the fish was soggy and the fish was a little dry. For dessert we had the banana cream pie. Crust was thin and flavorless, the custard bland and chunky, the banana's uncooked. I am glad they use local produce to support the economy, but very expensive menu for what you get.
It’s a great place for taking photographs of the sunset, but there’s a public path around the restaurant that you can enjoy the views.
The service is was great as our waitress took attention to us and also spent time to talk about the island as we were visiting on vacation.
We celebrated our 20th Anniversary at the Beach House and the food was excellent! They even served up a gorgeous sunset!
We were especially disappointed with our experience at this highly vaunted venue because our lunch the previous day had actually been good. Given the high prices though, I would not recommending risking whether you will catch them on a good day! We were served a kale salad containing giant kale leaves with indigestible ribs attached, too much dressing, overcooked shrimp and focaccia rolls--so tender and delicious the preceding day--that were dry and hard. Since it is hard NOT to see the view of the water on Kaua'i, the great location did not save the meal for us.
Best Mahi Mahi I've ever had. Our server was fantastic. The atmosphere was delightful, happening but not noisy. The sunset was amazing, and we had a perfect view of it from our table. It is a little pricey, but WELL worth the extra cost. We couldn't have been more pleased. This will be our tradition in Kauai from now on.
Delicious food and beautiful beach-front location. All the seats are amazing, no bad views. Our only disappointment was while prices were high because of the location/ambiance, the lobster we received with the "catch of the day and lobster" meal was a tiny half lobster. It was sooo small, only about 3 bites. We expect to pay high prices for the location etc, but for $49 we expected a little more lobster than what we received.
This may also sound silly but while the staff acknowledged it was my birthday, there wasn't any free dessert or anything (which I thought they would at least bring over a small chocolate or something)
Great food and service and great for special occasions
What an amazing experience. Every time we are in Kauai we make it a point to visit. The staff/service is amazing! You really are made to feel as if you are special. The food is great and the Mai Tais are out of this world! We can't wait to come back!
Honestly, the food was fine but the service sucked. One of the waitresses at the lounge outside was rude. I felt rushed through our dinner like they just wanted to turn our table over. And I’m sorry - $50 for a piece of Mahi Mahi? This place is way over-hyped. Just get a cocktail and sit outside - the view is the thing you’re paying for anyways.
View was spectacular, food was very good and waiter was outstanding.
The food was good but not great. We’ve been coming every time we come to Kauai. I don’t know if we’ll come back again. Beautiful spot, great view but we were a little underwhelmed this time.
The Furikake crusted tuna was hands down the best piece of fish I’ve ever had. The Mai Tai was amazing, the sunset, people hanging on the lawn watching the surfers...epic place!
The food and atmosphere at sunset could not be better, but I have to especially thank our waitress, Jessa, for her kindness. We were having our last dinner there, but I ended up getting sick a couple hours before the reservation. I wanted my husband to enjoy it, so I made him go (we didn't have anywhere else to be either because our flight was leaving in 4 hours). She got me tea and various other beverages to help settle my stomach. Thank you for your kindness.
The dining experience was one for the books. Edwin, our waiter, was so hospitable and steered us in the right direction with our choices. The Wasabi crusted island fish was so tasty! One of the best meals I had during my trip to Kauai. My friend and I were celebrating our birthdays and they brought us ice cream for dessert with a candle in it. What a special way to end the evening.
Great location, food and service! Highly recommended for all. Try and make it in time for sunset.
Food was incredible, cocktails were inspired, location was beautiful, service was unparalleled!
We were a party of 5 seated next to a very loud party of 20 celebrating a 50th Birthday party. While they were very nice, it was impossible to hear at our table. One of our party ordered a 2nd drink, when the bar staff delivered it, it was not her drink, & no one at our table wished to have it however when we got home we noticed we were charged for the drink & returned the next day for a credit. Food was good but over priced. We went for the ambience, the view & good conversation but unfortunately our request for a table with that wasn’t heard.
Amazing view, amazing food. Will definitely go there again
The view was great, but that was about the only thing that I would consider great. Service was lacking, waitress was either having a bad night, or she is in the wrong business. Food (fish) for the price, was mediocre. Desert had little flavor. But what stood out the most was the overall staff. We've visited all of the Hawaiian islands, and have dining at many nice restaurants. This one, was, shall we say, strange. There was a definite lack of native Hawaiian staff, unless the staff were descendants of caucasian Hawaiians. I've never seen anything like it on the Islands. Kind of reminded me of the movie "Get Out." But, if you are looking for a place to dine where you don't have to deal with the locals, I guess this is the place. Don't forget your MAGA hat.
Requested nice table with a view when I made the reservation a month in advance but got a table in the bar where one of us had our back to the view. Other tables were available when we were seated. Salad and bread were delicious but the $48 filet was chewy and not very flavorful One steak needed to be sent back because it was very rare and not medium. They sent out a whole new plate and steak but this one was more chewy and only a little more done. By the time server checked on our food one of us was halfway done eating. Table was completely cleared before the steak dinner was returned. This person ate alone. No dessert because cream pie did not seem appealing. It came in many flavors but needed more options., not all dairy based. We had eaten here a couple years ago but this was not even close to that visit. Won’t be back.
Great food, great service, great food at a great price. Location, location, location. A unique and beautiful dining experience. Kudos to all your staff and chef. Mahalo
We were seated in the back. Plus there was a wedding party right beside us. I would have appreciated when they called to confirm our reservation if they had informed us of this. Normally this is our favorite place. I am disappointed in our overall experience. This was the first time there for several of our party. They were upset at our table placement.
Most beautiful setting with outstanding food
First off, the service and ambiance of this place are great. The wait staff was courteous, quick and very knowledgeable about their menu.
Now for the bad. The food was mostly bland and/or under seasoned. My wife and I both ordered fish dishes, because we are in Hawaii. Why wouldn't we want fresh fish? Unfortunately, my fish, that was promised to be flaky and tasty was raw in the middle and bland. My wife's fish was also bland. Overall we were not impressed by this place. If it wasn't for their location, I can't imagine them being successful.
Amazing Sunset dinner! The serve & food was great!
Unbelievable experience. The ambience, the view, service and food quality was fantastic!! It was my birthday and the waiter sang happy birthday, gave me ice cream and a signed card by all the staff. What a classy touch that cost so little but went a long way. We will definitely be back!!!
We found the atmosphere nice but loud. Service was slow. Food was ok but certainly not worth the prices. The outside lawn wears nice and would be good for drinks.
One of my wife’s and I favorite places on Kauai the food is amazing, the server are pleasant and the views are the best on the South Side amazing sunsets.
GREAT ambiance -- excellent bar tenders and waiter!
Perfect spot for sunset and picture taking!
EVERYone in a vacation mood --- food was fantastic!
Plan to return - ALOHA! x mer
Wonderful of the ocean if you are on the south side of the island.
We have been before a few years back. Wasn’t as good this time. Drinks are way to overpriced for the lack of booze that is actually in them. (Were better before).
Dinner was good. But we had better at a not as pricy restaurant.
View is always nice, but you hardly have a chance to enjoy it as is always seems rushed.
Great service and view from our table. Good buzz at the restaurant, lots of happy people having a good time. And parakeets! Lots of em.
We dressed very casually and while we were made to feel welcome I wish we had known that the average customer was dressed a bit more formally. The food and service was excellent!
Great food. Great service. Amazing view of the sunset
