We used to go here all the time when this place was Blue Stove, so we were interested to see what was different about it after the "remodel". The answer is - not much. The place looked the same, even the artwork was the same, but for the change of the name of the restaurant. The menu changed too, but not completely - now instead of getting an array of small plates, the selection is of a more traditional appetizer-entree format, and the wine list has been reduced a bit, much to our dismay.
The Pros: The service was fantastic. Our waiter Matthew was very attentive and helpful, very friendly and nice to talk to. We very much enjoyed his service. Also, the food still tastes amazing. The kitchen is flexible as far as leaving off spicy things (my mother and I are very, very sensitive to spice, so we can't eat chilies or anything like that) which we appreciated - not all places are that kind. I had the lobster mac n cheese (ordered WITHOUT chilies) and it was yum, yum, yum. All the food was just great. The ambiance continues to be warm and friendly, a nice relaxing place to enjoy a nice, tasty meal with family.
The Cons: The aforementioned shrunken wine list was a little disappointing. Also, we ordered at least one item off the menu that used to be on the old menu, and while the price had gone up considerably, the dish was the exact same size as before. It left me feeling like they were charging a lot more money for the same amount of food we used to get, and we used to get it for less, which was kind of a bummer. It ended up making me feel like we spent more money to get less food than we used to under the old small plates way of doing things. I was kind of disappointed by that.
On the whole, we had a very good time, and if you're willing to spend the money, it's a really nice place for a special occasion with some great food and the right atmosphere for good conversation. Not going to be a regular place for us though, not like Blue Stove was.
If you're shopping at Nordstrom and feel hungry, this would be the only reason I'd go to this restaurant which has a delicious French Dip sandwich and correct menu. The ambiance though is dead- the decor so unimpressive- it's just a place to have a quick lunch and relax-.
Two tables but service so so. Waiter did not know menu nor that they were out of scallops. Short ribs no meat all fat.
this place is actually IN Nordstrom, so it keeps the same hours. we needed a place for a quick drink and dinner before a movie, and Bazille fit the bill. drinks were good, our server was great. we both had the salmon dinner, which was very good. the only thing that was a bit odd was that we were one of only three occupied tables, which is a strange feeling. it did make for great service, though.
The lobster bisque was very good. I wish there were more options for entrees, that weren’t so pricy. This is a good place to get away from loud crowds.
Great food and service. Our server, Rob was very nice and attentive.
