Bazille - Nordstrom Santa Monica Place
Bazille is located inside of Nordstrom at Santa Monica Place on the 3rd floor. Located only 1 block away from Santa Monica Pier and the ocean.
Our waitress was wonderful~ The only server taking great care of the entire restaurant! * 5 stars
The food was amazing but the host/waiter was a bit too busy watching the football game over doing his actual job.
Delicious food & nice wine list! Beautiful presentation. My salmon Niçoise salad was perfect with the balsamic & Dijon vinaigrette!
The food that our party of 3 ordered was only fair. The salmon was so overcooked that it couldn't even be cut with a knife. The fruit wasn't very fresh. The server, however, rates an "excellent" rating. We are now looking for another restaurant/cafe to have our get-togethers.
I would highly recommend Bazille! From making our reservation online to our departure, everything went great. We were there on a Friday night at 6pm. The hostess was pleasant. Our waiter went above and beyond to make sure that we were satisfied and our meal was excellent. He worked hard around our allergies to make sure that we could eat something as close as Possible to the dishes we had selected! The chef also did an excellent job. Excellent presentation, cooked to perfection. They were out of scallops so they replaced them with shrimp which also worked. My friend really liked the fish and chips. My sister enjoyed the fish tacos. The girl who saw that our check was ready to pay, grabbed it up and took care of it promptly. It was a nice atmosphere. Thank you for a great experience!
Great value. Always good food, never crowded.
Began with scrumptious deviled eggs garnished with with sriracha maple bacon. Scallops were so delicious and perfectly complemented by the aioli grilled corn and risotto. Lobster macaroni and cheese with arugula salad was thoroughly enjoyed by my dining partner. It was seasoned nicely, plentiful, and the quintessential comfort food for adults!
We had an excellent experience. Terrific food, and a wonderful place to talk.
It seemed that they only had one server on the day that we visited. We were meeting for a business meeting so trying to squeeze in meal and conversation within the normal business lunch hour. However service was slow, incomplete (had to wait for water, olive oil for bread), the poor server was running around trying to keep up with the orders, etc. Not recommended for a formal business lunch - although nicely located in downtown and quiet atmosphere to have a lunch meeting - but seems more for the tired shopper who has time to come in an relax.
Not only is it lovely to look at, and the food is delicious, and the service outstanding, but it's also inside Nordstroms! What could be better?!
The reservation schedule was inaccurate, they close at 8:30 pm. We never got to go!!! Schedule and times need to be updated!!
Excellent service and food! Will definitely recommend!
My favorite place for a quiet get-together where you can talk and enjoy good food, wine
Great food, awesome service by Robert. Good value for Dine LA.
This was a great location. Everyone was so kind and helpful. They even made one of our kids a meal that wasn't even on the menu. The food was excellent, as usual. I love Bazille.
Amazing food and service. The waiter welcomed us and provided top tier service. We ordered the chicken tacos(shareable menu), Small Caesar salad and Scallops. All were top tier!
Even our daughters loved the kids selection choosing grilled cheese and pasta.
We also order the “One night in Bangkok” drink. It is a must cocktail!
We will be back!
Excellent. Food and service are winners. I was with my family and found good selections for all.
We used to go here all the time when this place was Blue Stove, so we were interested to see what was different about it after the "remodel". The answer is - not much. The place looked the same, even the artwork was the same, but for the change of the name of the restaurant. The menu changed too, but not completely - now instead of getting an array of small plates, the selection is of a more traditional appetizer-entree format, and the wine list has been reduced a bit, much to our dismay.
The Pros: The service was fantastic. Our waiter Matthew was very attentive and helpful, very friendly and nice to talk to. We very much enjoyed his service. Also, the food still tastes amazing. The kitchen is flexible as far as leaving off spicy things (my mother and I are very, very sensitive to spice, so we can't eat chilies or anything like that) which we appreciated - not all places are that kind. I had the lobster mac n cheese (ordered WITHOUT chilies) and it was yum, yum, yum. All the food was just great. The ambiance continues to be warm and friendly, a nice relaxing place to enjoy a nice, tasty meal with family.
The Cons: The aforementioned shrunken wine list was a little disappointing. Also, we ordered at least one item off the menu that used to be on the old menu, and while the price had gone up considerably, the dish was the exact same size as before. It left me feeling like they were charging a lot more money for the same amount of food we used to get, and we used to get it for less, which was kind of a bummer. It ended up making me feel like we spent more money to get less food than we used to under the old small plates way of doing things. I was kind of disappointed by that.
On the whole, we had a very good time, and if you're willing to spend the money, it's a really nice place for a special occasion with some great food and the right atmosphere for good conversation. Not going to be a regular place for us though, not like Blue Stove was.
If you're shopping at Nordstrom and feel hungry, this would be the only reason I'd go to this restaurant which has a delicious French Dip sandwich and correct menu. The ambiance though is dead- the decor so unimpressive- it's just a place to have a quick lunch and relax-.
Two tables but service so so. Waiter did not know menu nor that they were out of scallops. Short ribs no meat all fat.
this place is actually IN Nordstrom, so it keeps the same hours. we needed a place for a quick drink and dinner before a movie, and Bazille fit the bill. drinks were good, our server was great. we both had the salmon dinner, which was very good. the only thing that was a bit odd was that we were one of only three occupied tables, which is a strange feeling. it did make for great service, though.
The lobster bisque was very good. I wish there were more options for entrees, that weren’t so pricy. This is a good place to get away from loud crowds.
Great food and service. Our server, Rob was very nice and attentive.
