My server, I think her name is Elena, is so sweet and caring. She made sure everything was satisfactory at my table. She is an asset to Bazille!
Great food, great service. The Lobster Mac and Cheese, Crab and Mango Salad and bruschetta were fantastic! It may just be our pre-show go to from here on out!
My husband had the French dip which was very tasty. I had the shrimp salad which was good. I like eating here where it's quiet rather than the food court.
Good food, great service, comfortable quiet ambience😉
Kimberly and Luis just took TERRIFIC care of a party of 8 before catching Sting in "The Last Ship" at the Golden Gate Theatre - the table/view was beautiful - the food was terrific and Luis got us out in time to make the show! Just terrific all the way around!
Wasn't too hungry, so I only ordered the chicken taco appetizer ($6.50). They were good but not fantastic; two very small tacos on a plate, served with lime wedges. Service was good, friendly, and efficient. They served us a small roll with an olive and olive oil dip that was good, but it would have been nice to have more than one 1.5" square roll a person! The amount of olive oil that was left could've handled another 4 rolls, at least!
Bazille is usually good for a meal before going to the Golden Gate Theater given it's only 2 blocks away from the theater.
Wonderful service . Great chicken taco
A good surprise, this restaurant on the top floor of a shopping mall: the food was very decent, the service decent, and the prices were acceptable.
Food was very tasty. The waiter was a bit distracted with his phone and subsequently slow to serve, but friendly enough.
Awesome service-super friendly. great dessert!
Great restaurant -great food, service, and fabulous view!
Reunion with an old friend and colleague.
This mid-priced, quiet restaurant is a gem. It's not as expensive as under the dome but much, much nicer (better food, table service, quiet, bar service) than the awful food court. It does get crowded at lunchtime, so I always make a reservation. Those who "aren't in the know" think you're cutting the line, but you're not!
Everything was great (calamari, chicken sandwich, salad) and Brenda was an outstanding server. You can't go wrong at this place kids. Always wonderful!
Good service and nice atmosphere for quick meal in union square
I reserved Bazille for a team business dinner and was very surprised and impressed with the menu items, service, and ambiance of a restaurant located in a department store. I plan to return and will definitely recommend this restaurant to others.
Excellent lunch spot in an excellent San Francisco shopping area. Just minutes to Union Square and across the street from the Powell St. Cable Car line. Forgot to mention Bart and Muni Metro line accessible also. The restaurant has large windows with views of dt. SF to the north. Noise level is excellent as our group of 3 could easily carry a conversation even though the restaurant was quite busy during the noon-2 time period. My friend ordered a cup of crab bisque as did I. It was excellent and not salty as some bisque soups can be. My friend also enjoyed the chicken, lime and cilantro soft tacos as a "small plate". She said it was fresh and yummy and filling. We did manage to share the key lime cheesecake, an excellent finale to the enjoyable meal. Prior to the dessert, I did have the kale and steak salad. The kale, grains, etc. with the dressing were fine. However, the steak was not tender with each slice being embedded with gristle. I should have ordered the wild salmon Nicoise instead, which I knew is always excellent. Our server, Yazmine, was excellent. She was knowledgeable and attentive without being obtrusive. I would highly recommend Bazille if you are in the Norstrom/Union Square area of San Francisco. Menu prices are reasonable. I will try the cocktails next time.
Great place for lunch. I have to come back for dinner.
I never expected a restaurant in a department store to offer a truly great dining experience, but I was wrong. Bazille was terrific! From beginning to end the service was friendly and efficient, including the hosts. We had a terrific view of the city below, which added to our experience. The cocktails were creative and so tasty. We ordered soups as a first course, and I think we were in heaven at the first bite! We would have been satisfied just with the soup. But then the main courses were just as delicious. We finished with chocolate cake and rich, fresh, French-press coffee. Yum!
Everything I had was delicious (fried calamari, simple salad, French Dip) and John is a WONDERFUL server! I can't wait to go back!
Fantastic food and service. Enjoy the lobster bisque and French onion. The calamari was a great shared starter. The French dip was the best ever. The salads and sandwiches were also a hit. Everyone left happy and satisfied. Louis was an exceptional server for our group.
Always a delicious meal and pleasant dining experience at Bazille. We’ve been back numerous times and our meal and service is always top notch,
The onion soup had to be returned because it was only lukewarm. In the meantime my wife’s order arrived. When mine finally came it arrived without cutlery. Our original waitress disappeared and the substitute moved at a snails pace and was unenthusiastic and it took her quite some time to get us our bill. We had two deserts and one came without cutlery again and the other desert arrived about 10 minutes later - again, without cutlery.
Overall a very, very disappointing dining experiences.
Good place to eat before going to the Golden Gate Theater. It seems that the waitstaff is spread a bit thin; it took a little bit of time to get the condiments we requested after we received our meals. My husband's fish and chips didn't include the pickles and tartar sauce that our friend's plate included; apparently the kitchen forgot to put them on the plate. Would have been nice to have the malt vinegar automatically included when the meal was delivered since it's a traditional offering with fish and chips. My wild salmon salad was good, but I would have appreciated a slice of bread with it. Otherwise, good meals at somewhat reasonable prices.
This was so great. Exactly what I wanted and though the place was busy it had a nice soothing atmosphere
Nice, reasonably priced place for lunch; way cheaper than Under the Dome and way quieter than the food court. Well paced and good selections (including a full bar). The wait in line can get really long, so make reservations (personally, I wouldn't bother without them).
We had a wonderful meal, with outstanding service at Bazille's. We had a table of 7 ladies, and our waitress was very attentive to everyone. She even allowed us to have separate checks. We plan on going again next year during our annual Christmas shopping trip to San Francisco.
The food was great! I was so glad to see on the specials that some of the older items came back. Just love their chicken dishes and those fries...GREAT! Its a good place to have dinner while shopping in the downtown area.
Our waiter, John, is excellent. We have had him as our server before. He is very respectful, knowledgeable and friendly. He is a keeper!
Overall good. But something must be wrong with the hi refrigeration system. The Salmon was not good. It was as if it had been super frozen, and they tried to cook the heck out of it. The 3 scoops of ice cream had pieces of ice or large ice chips in them, and the AC in the space kept turning on and blowing terribly cold air.
The Cesar salad, and burger with fries were excellent.
The service was very good.
Bazille is a great option when in San Francisco. Located in Westfield shopping mall, the location is perfect when in the Union Square / Downtown area. The service is attentive and prompt.
We tend to opt for the sandwich or salad options. All are well prepared and flavorful. And the chocolate mint that comes with the bill is always a nice treat!
A life saver on a pre Christmas Sunday. When I arrived with my 4 friends, our reservation was noted and we were immediately taken to a nice table. Our waitress had her hands full and was still able to be attentive to our party. The menu accommodated the gluten free and vegan guests and the food was fresh, attractively arranged on the plate and delicious.
The location of this restaurant is perfect.
We had the Brussel sprouts today. OMG. We will definitely get them again. Cooked with chili, sausage, and hazelnuts and then charred, I couldn't stop eating them. My husband had the crab bisque and he loved it.
Ridiculously overpriced. Understaffed. Food arrived cold. Really disappointing holiday meal.
Enjoyable ...Good food! Will return
My mom and I have begun our holiday shopping at Bazille for years. This year was a disappointment. While it was easy to secure the reservation, our waitress was pleasant yet slow. The appetizer came after the meal was served so we canceled it. An apology was offered for the late serving however It seemed we waited really long to get our food and our dessert and to get our check. The dessert was comped. Our experience wasn’t pleasant, and I was disappointed but it is what it is I’m not sure if will be back next year thanks
I had reservations and we still had to wait an hour. It was definitely not worth the wait
Very consistent, very tasty food and excellent service in a nice atmosphere.
Very good food for the price and convenience (esp. considering this is SF). I had the heirloom tomatoes & burrata first course and the halibut & chips dinner, both were delicious (cheesecake dessert could be better, but they served free for a birthday celebration, which was nice). Service was helpful and cheerful.
Took my wife for dinner on a weeknight after work to see the Christmas lights and decorations. Ordered the Boneless Crispy Chicken Breast & Shoestring Fries (part of chicken was somewhat tough and chewy), and my wife enjoyed the Crab and Avocado Salad. For dessert, we shared a delicious cobbler. Overall, it was very nice, but not sure it was worth the $50 tab (for the three items). Service was fast and friendly.
