Bazille - Nordstrom San Francisco Centre
Winner of the 2015 Open Table Diner Choice, Bazille - Nordstrom San Francisco Centre is located in the heart of Downtown San Francisco, inside Nordstrom at the Westfield Mall. The restaurant sits on the 7th floor, overlooking the city with breathtaking views of the shopping district. Watch the cable cars ride up and down Powell Street, while enjoying our famous White Chocolate and Raspberry Bread Pudding or one of our hand crafted cocktails from the full bar. It’s an experience that locals and tourists alike enjoy!
If you want great food in a quiet setting with table service while at the mall, eat here. I love their salads and French dip.
Great service, food and view! Always a favorite start to a day of shopping.
We were a party of 6 with a reservation early on a Saturday evening. The host was very accommodating as we were a few minutes early for our reservation. While we were waiting for our table to be set several people came up to be sure that we had been helped. We were seated at a table along the banquette that was pushed against a wall so that we had to slide along the banquette to reach the inside seating (trapping the first one in). If the restaurant had been even half full I would have understood this arrangement, this was not the case and there were many open tables. Our server was quick to great us and very courteous. We received our drinks and starters in a timely manner. The mains came out and were auctioned off at the end of the table, the 2 people that ordered the French Dips never received their food. We asked several times and were told they were on the way...they arrived when the rest of us had finished our meals. The Dips were mixed up, crispy fries delivered to the wrong person. We asked where the aujus was...they are heating it up... again we asked where the aujus was...getting heated was again the answer, by this time they could have heated a gallon of water. We had a show to get to so they started to eat the now cold sandwich, by the halfway point the server came back with tepid greasy reddish brown liquid in a small cup. They finished the sandwich dry. I understand that things happen, what I find irritating is that no apology was made by anybody. This inaction caused frustration and dissatisfaction in an otherwise delightful meal
Nice place for a lunch before a matinee. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is pleasant. One thing is that we have found the food quality is inconsistent. sometimes it is wonderful and sometimes it is ok to good. but we keep going.
A gem! Best kept secret for good dining in Union Square areas.
It seems the food quality was not up to par this trip. I’m sure it was just a fluke as usually it is very consistent.
Nice atmosphere with a view of the city from the top of Nordstroms. Not too expensive for a business dinner when getting away from the noise of the conference at Moscone.
Love this place!!!
Pleasant location. The service is amiable but incredibly slow, to the point of incompetence. Food okay.
Love this hidden jewel!
Perfect spot for lunch for shopping break or before or after a play. Easy Bart in/out
We were generations for lunch before seeing a matinee at the Golden Gate Theater. The food came out fast and it was quiet enough for conversation. The location is great - easy access from BART and then a quick walk to the theater. Pretty view out the window, too. I was happy to see the salmon Niçoise salad back on the menu. A very pleasant experience.
This is the perfect restaurant for lunch while doing an afternoon of shopping downtown. It has very good food, the wait staff is friendly and efficient, the decor of the restaurant is nice and clean, and there a nice views of the shopping area in San Francisco. The restroom just outside the restaurant in the Nordstrom store is very clean, which is a surprise for a public restroom in a department store.
Great place to stop before a movie or during a shopping trip.
The food quality was variable. The lemon chicken soup I had was too greasy and the caesar salad had way too much dressing. However, the tomato burrata salad was excellent.
Fun and delicious!
Outstanding service; food great- very nice ambiance
The menu options where great, especially chef specials. The desserts are worth indulging in. Love their cocktails. Service was exceptional!!
My wife and I (big Nordstrom supporters from Seattle) were looking for a light lunch. I asked if I could substitute shrimp in the chicken tacos. The very good server checked with the kitchen and came back and said yes. The dish I received had two small but good tacos. The price for chicken tacos is $6.50. They charged me that full charge plus an add charge of $7.00 for the shrimp. This was far from the Nordstrom experience we customarily receive. I think the restaurant (and its customers) would be better served if they just said that substituting was not possible.
We had theater tickets and it worked perfectly for us. I have been before as well as Stanford Shopping Center food is good prices fair.
My friend and I lunched before the theater. The service was prompt and the waitress was mindful of a food allergy. The Salad Nicoise was delicious, followed by a delightful Creme Brulee - both were gluten-free. All the waiters and waitresses we met in the dining room were super friendly.
We have been going to Bazille before our matinee ballets for a couple of years. At first we had some disappointing service and food. But in the last two years, we have been pleased everytime we go. I am so happy to say this. The venue is very nice and the food is delicious.
Thank you for working on this.
We chose Bazille for a pre-show dinner. John, our server was excellent, attentive and knowledgeable. Because I am Celiac, I require gluten-free food. I was disappointed that there were only two gluten-free items on the menu for me to choose. No soup, no appetizers. What restaurants don't seem to realize is that if they lose a "gluten-free" customer, they also lose everyone in the party, so a little more consideration to GF would be welcome. For thickening soups and sauces, just use corn-starch...that is gluten free.
Overall we enjoyed our meal, the wines were good, the food was tasty, the service was first class. We will consider Bazille the next time we come to San Francisco for a show, but I will be checking first to see if more Gluten-Free options have been added to the menu.
We go to the SHN plays and love to come here for dinner after!
This restaurant has the worst ever food. Salmon was fishy and dry and bland. Cake was like from a bad amateur home cook. Service is snobbish.
Bazille had recently become our go-to place for dinner before the theatre. This was our third visit in 6 months or less. Good cocktails, satisfactory food, convenient to the Golden Gate Theatre. This time however the bar was out of vermouth to make a Manhattan, my salad was delivered without the chicken I'd ordered, the French onion soup was over salted and ill-prepared such that the cheese was just a big glob, service was perfunctory. But worst of all, there were fruit flies buzzing the table. There's only one way that fruit flies find themselves to the 4th floor of Nordstrom: through the kitchen. Needless to say we will dine elsewhere before the theatre henceforth.
Great spot to go before seeing a theater production. Excellent food and service. Always enjoy going there.
Our family (5) ate here before the theater and couldn’t been happier with the experience. Food was great and, even better, the service was terrific. My son has serious food allergies and it is often difficult to eat out safely. The manager, Jordan, and the kitchen staff were extremely helpful and my son was able to eat safely with confidence. That is not something we take for granted. Thank you, Bazille! (Nice cocktails too!)
Great spot before going to the Golden Gate Theater. Great French dip.
This restaurant is a perfect choice for lunch before going to a matinee at the Golden Gate theater. Only a short 3 block walk. Located on the 5th level of Nordstrom's. Great views. Food and service always good. Would recommend.
Great find. Tough to get to if you're not shopping, but so worth it.
If it gets too overcrowded around Union Square this is a place to have decent food in a more calm ambience. Behind the womenswear department im Nordstom on N4, a hidden positive surprise. Nice view over to the Union Square area. Food is Good, not 5 stars but good for a nice lunch.
Ate there twice last week. Sab Francisco bay e who was in town to have lunch with friends.
Gtrst package, location, service, food.
New Year’s Eve lunch with family. Food and environment were very good. Thumbs down on the waiter.
When we got there no table. They gave it away & we artived early
My sister and I went for an after Christmas lunch. We both had salads and they were delicious! Service was outstanding.
Drink order not delivered until server reminded after food was served. Was told they had been ready on counter but had not been delivered.
Greeted and told to stand to one aide and wait. Seater came and asked if we had received a text? No We has a real reservation! He proceeds to take us to the far end of the restaurant into a loud and very unkept dining alcove! Terrible view, terrible service, terrible food! Ordered a special sandwich and the bread was BURNT! Salad was over dressed and to much fill with “won ton” strips that turn to glue with the dressing! Loud, zero service from our waitress! Including zero invitation for dessert!
Our server was excellent .
all our needs were met
View, food and waiter was fabulous!
