Bazille - Nordstrom Burlington
Formerly know as the Blue Stove, we are now the Bazille, and we are located in Nordstrom on the second floor next to the “Top Shop”.
As always, great place to meet friends for lunch, service was excellent and food is always yummy. Have to admit tho, still miss Blue Stove.
Wonderful meal and service for 5 people with 2 small children and a baby was perfect!
I have been to Bazille twice. The first time I went I was completely satisfied with the food, service and value. I went the other night and both the French dip sandwich and the burger were not available. We were there at 5:30 and I find in hard to believe they were sold out of both but neither were available. We were not told this before we placed our order. Once we chose our third dinner option which was a chicken dish we were in luck. The service and what we finally ordered was very good but on a Tuesday night at 5:30 I would thing the entire menu would be available.
Food was delicious and the service prompt.
I took my wife for Valentine's Day with another couple. Food was fantastic, and we ate every single scrap on our plates. Loved the scallops, deviled eggs, brussel sprouts, calamari, everything really. Dessert was a small notch below the rest, but still good. Service was attentive and helpful. A bit of a weird vibe, though, going thru a deserted Nordstrom's store to get to the restaurant (or when you need to use a bathroom).
Our overall experience was disappointing. To begin with, when we arrived, we were kept standing at the entrance, waiting to be acknowledged and seated for an inordinately long time, considering the restaurant was practically empty.
Our server was very nice, but her service was slow. On several occasions we had to repeat requests.
My meal was delicious, however, my husband’s steak (he requested it medium-rare) was very undercooked. We brought it to our server’ attention, and she returned it to be cooked further. He waited quite a while for his steak to be brought back to him , and unfortunately it was still undercooked! By this time I and the other diner in our party were practically done with our meals.
Our server and the manager(?) were very apologetic, and very graciously subtracted the cost of my husband’s steak-as well as our other party’s steak- from the bill. However, as much as we appreciated the gesture, the entire experience itself left us with a negative impression of Bazille, and we don’t see ourselves returning there.
We had lunch here on a busy Saturday, but arrived just before the rush started. Very convenient location. Our waitress was very nice and was very attentive. The Asian salads with chicken were so delicious and prepared how we each requested. It was my birthday, so upon my friend's request, our waitress brought me a slice of chocolate cake with a candle at the end of our meal. A surprise and special way to end our lunch. Will definitely come back again!
I enjoyed my dinner (on a very quiet Tuesday evening) with my friend at Bazille very much. We ordered the brussels sprout appetizer, which was excellent. We both got the salad with the shrimp and cilantro dressing - both appetizer and the dinner meal were very good. Service was pleasant and non-intrusive. Atmosphere was quiet (though it was early on a Tuesday evening). Overall a good experience. I would certainly go back and recommend to a friend.
We had a very nice lunch.
Had a lovely seat but the window for lunch. Burrata and tomato salad was fantastic.
I had been here in the past several years ago under Bluestone and really liked it but was disappointed with the menu and quality of the food on this visit. Calamari was very dry and tasteless...
This is an excellent place to dine despite the fact that it’s actually a department store. Good food very well prepared, solid wine selection and excellent service. Don’t let nordstroms throw you, try it!
Excellent place for a quiet dinner and creative cuisine. Good wine list and great service.
Good food. Great service.
Four women friends had lunch during the week. Among us we had three different lunch salads (didn't share--two people ordered the same salad). All were superb. The crusty rolls were also excellent. It was quiet during the week, and they didn't rush us. Highly recommended.
Samantha, our waitress, was outstanding and made our luncheon especially pleasant. Thanks to Samantha. She’s exceptional!!
Although I had initially missed the "all small plates" format of Blue Stove, I have enjoyed Bazille several times now. This time tho, the prices seem higher for lunch, I'd have to say pricey. However the food was all excellent and our server Sterling was super. We were celebrating a BD and he brought a large piece of chocolate cake with candle, it was very yummy.
French fries were cold . So by the time they brought another side of French fries for me I had finish eating my steak already.
At the end was a mouse running inside the restaurant.
I will never go back.
Easy parking, pleasant, unexpected second floor of Nordstrom location yet once inside and seated, very nice.
Friendly, welcoming staff.
Delicious kale salad and salmon dinner.
Told supervisor to let managers know we particularly liked our waiter.
Loved the scallops and risotto
Small plates of salad and brussel sprouts were delicious
Bazille is a hidden gem that doesn’t fall under many categories because it’s a restaurant within the store Nordstrom at the Burlington Mall. But it’s my go to place if I want to get together with friends before or after a movie at the Burlington AMC. The food is good, you can get small plates or a full meal, it’s usually quiet so you can talk and hear people talk. The decor is stylish and the staff are super friendly and helpful .
This restaurant used to be Blue Stove and I was in love with it and the menu. I would make special trips to eat there. Now it is Bazille and it has taken me a while to warm up to it, but the beautiful restaurant venue is the same and the food is delicious. It is just that you cannot savor multiple flavors now that they don't have small plates. Very lovely and efficient service and the manager is visible and on top of things.
I hate to be so negative, but the food was expensive and mediocre and, although we were the only customers, the service was slow. It looked and felt more like we were in the ante-room of a funeral parlor than a restaurant in an otherwise really good store.
Have visited Bazille a few times, having been there many times when Blue Stove. Great meeting place for lunch with girlfriends. Thankfully they kept some Blue Stove favorites on the menu. Great choices and great food. My favorite is the scallops and risotto, but this time while still delicious, scallops were huge, which I don't like as much. The fried calamari appetizer was exceptional. Server was very nice, attentive and friendly. But long wait to get bill, and then got someone else's bill which had to be corrected obviously. B. will continue to be a favorite for me!
Always like it here
Very weird service. Suggested to us several yikes that we might want to order from the children’s menu even though we had no children. The place was almost empty but it took a very long time for our meals to arrive. When they did they were not as ordered. And the food was just pretty terrible. We ate it anyway since no one came to check if the orders were correct and we were starved. When the server picked up our plates rather than asking how it was she said sarcastically , “oh I can see it was terrible” because my husbands plate was empty. But it really WAS terrible. Just awful and will not be back. Such a shame - Blue Stove was good.
I ordered a salad advertised with cilantro - a main reason I ordered it - there was none. Also missing the almonds. It was very overdressed making the greens limp. Just not good. If you happen to be shopping and get hungry, it might be a good place to sit. We also ordered cappuccino and was told it was served on another floor. Huh? Just not worth it.
Altho I was initially disappointed at the closing of Blue Stove, as I loved that place, Bazille is every bit as good. I do still miss the all small plates format of B.S. But Bazille has a number of B.S. favorites on its menu, and a good selection of both small plates and entrees.
All was just fine! Just two minor issues...my cushion seat in the booth I requested by the window needs to be replaced. It was uneven and worn down on one side. Also, overwhelming, objectionable odor upon entering restaurant. Upon further reflection must have been from brussel sprouts on tapas menu. Because there is an open kitchen and footprint of restaurant is small and inside the store, odors get trapped. I'm not sure what the resolution to this is, since the brussel sprouts tapas was delicious, but certainly something should be done.
Always liked ambiance at former restaurant, this stayed same. Host at desk just pointed us toward a table and said you can go sit over there, so we did. She then came over and was our server. Did an ok job but was very unsure of herself and was almost looking for us to direct her and trying to answer our questions. Telling us what she thought we wanted to hear such as what the lamb dish was like. I had the burger which was very tasty, lamb/gnocchi which was pretty good she said and then pan seared chicken for the last guest. Overall nice menu and I would go back.
I thought our server was good, ambience good, but we made reservations a week prior with instruction for a quiet booth. We were told it was given away to a private event were (nobody was in attendance) next the food that I wanted to order was not Available to this phantom private event. Disappointing that the menu was already limited, but to limit it further, I mean c’mon.
This is a great hidden spot. Upscale casual, very quiet away from all the noise.
Service is very attentive. Food quality is very good, but in all honesty, I miss the tapas from when it used to be called Blue Stove.
The menu is eclectic and limited. Check the menu in advance
Very quiet evening, but good place to catch up with friends
Pretty good overall, service was a little slow even though there were only 12 people in the restaurant. Food was excellent.
Blue Stove had inspired tapas that were just large enough to be shared, and while not inexpensive, were not ridiculously pricey.
Bazille was artsy on presentation, also imaginative ingredients and combos, but very expensive for small portions. 3 scallops is an entree? The swordfish portion made a little more sense, but the accompanying side vegetable portion was tiny. BTW isn't a lemon usually served with seafood? Or is that old-fashioned?
No real vegan choices.
The profiteroles dessert pastry was hard and did not seem fresh.
The creme brulee was good. Came with 3 raspberries. Wow.
We had salads and appetizers. It was a quiet evening. The dishes were very good. The brussel sprouts are recommended.
Everything was good!
Missed the mark on food... blue stove was definitely better
