Bazi was great spot--Owners Michael and Jen have best restaurant on the Beach in Macchialana.
The food was great---The location might have been a mistake as the investors/backers paid too much for the building--11 room hotel with no parking... and build out and did not do their homework on cash flow and or build out as those carry costs hurt Bazi success ratio...Operating owners Jen and Michael---get AAA rating---Backers and active investors in control get F for no clue on economics in this business or South Beach..We went to opening--many times in middle and closing of Bazi...and tonight we are going the Macchialana---They have best spot in Miami Beach and the food is overwhelmingly good.
They happened to get involved with silly--inexperienced and micro managing money partners.
A great night, great food, great date. They were offering Haig Club on the house.
Try the Cantonese Shrimp app and mushroom side dish...delicious!
Bazi is our favorite Asian restaurant in Miami Beach. The menu is small but every dish is prepared to perfection. Don't miss it.
Great food. Great service. Try the snapper, hibachi, and BaZi rice.
A friend and I had an early dinner at Bazi - only ones there, but we didn't notice as the food was so amazing. We tried 5 dishes - sharing - plus a yummie dessert. Will be back!
Bazi was a great find. Food was excellent, authentic -presentation lovely. Our server was enthusiastic knowledgeable about menu. She Suggested great dishes for vegetarians . I look forward to going back for special occasion , a little pricey but worth it for special night
Painfully small portions, not worth the money, we left hungry.
The food never disappoints. Yummy and interesting asian fare. Beautiful restaurant.
Don't bother totally overrated and overpriced a joke
Peaking Duck fantastic
In town with 3 other couples celebrating a birthday. Booked based on other reviews. Nice at a table of 8 being able to taste lots of different menu items. Peking duck 4 ways was very unique and very good.... Recommend it...... Nice space and friendly good service....
Excellent and interesting cuisine
Food is amazing, best Asian food in Miami
What a beautiful place, and what a lovely welcome we received! We ordered the Peking duck in advance, two ducks for four people. It is served four ways: a taste of broth (I could have eaten a huge bowl); a salad; with noodles, and then The Duck confit. As the evening progressed, the music level was raised, but we four were still able to enjoy a lively conversation. This is a huge plus for fine dining in South Beach!
We went because of the great reviews.
First hint of trouble was the empty restaurant: 4 others showed up eventually .
Food was disappointing ; bland and non descript. Nothing had a distinctive taste. The lobster was sitting in a pool of liquid . THe fish dish had a mayonnaise- like sauce. The cocktails were tasteless.
It was consistent- all bad. This place may be gone Soon....
My husband & I went to Bazi along with 3 friends. We all loved every bite of food we tried. Standouts included the Peking duck (served 4 ways) and the mushrooms (trust me, unlike we've had anywhere else).
The short Rib buns were to die for. Service and ambiance were excellent.
Bazi was amazing! I love, love, love Peking duck...and it was as good as it gets at Bazi. It's made for two so I shared with my friend (who's a very sophisticated gourmand) and she also loved it. My husband had the whole fish and really liked it as well.
Atmosphere is a bit funky and so is fitting for SoBe.
An overall great place to enjoy fantastic top quality fresh food, with great decor, outstanding service - since you make or confirm the reservation over the phone, to the maître d', waiters, at the bar, and the entire staff -, awesome music, and very clean. Highly recommended; top customer service.
From the moment you walk in the front door , you want to stay. They set the mood of calm, excitement and intrigue.
The staff is helpful and fun. The food was unbelievable. Our waiter guided our party of 6 to not order too much food. THE FLAVORS!!!! made me want to lick my plate. Everything was terrific we all craved more. ( Could have passed on the steak. Good but a little boring compared to everything else)
For a party of 6 with drinks flowing, we were presently surprised. Less then $100 a person which is great for South Beach. I want to go back soon and be in a food paradise.
When confirming our reservation, we were asked if we wanted to reserve the Peking Duck dinner which we did. A great dinner, four courses--duck soup, duck salad, duck lo mein, and scallion pancakes with traditional Peking Duck. Yum. Great service too.
Fabulous!! We have been here three times and can't say enough about the food, the service and how much we love it. Anyone going to Miami should make a stop by Bazi!
This is a cool restaurant with a great look. Outside, nice dining on the terrace, inside a really cool vibe of Asian and modern. The food was really good and interesting. Everything we tried was hot and tasty. Our server seemed a little bored and could have been better, but was adequate and did an ok job. The managers were all over us though, making sure everything was ok and that was a good thing. I think they are still feeling things out a bit and figuring out what works and doesn't. Overall a really good experience and recommended. It will only get better as it re-defines itself.
I am a foodie who has lived in Miami for over two years, and this was my favorite dinner in this city yet. The space is really chic and attractive. I went on a Saturday around 9, and while most tables were full and there was an energetic vibe, it wasn't too crowded or loud---you have a comfortable amount of room and can have an actual conversation and hear each other. The Peking duck three ways was excellent as were each of the several appetizers we ordered. The staff was also incredibly polite---even though we were approximately 20 minutes late for our reservation and there was a full house, the hostess was extremely kind and accommodating and got us seated right away. The wait staff was also polite and expedient. Will definitely be back.
The food was tasty, but the portions were small, and not commensurate with the price. Our waiter actively talked us out of the Chef's tasting menu; from his description it would have been much more expensive for a disappointing amount of food (we ultimately ordered 2 appetizers, an entree, and noodles for 2 people). I understand it is easier for the kitchen to send dishes out as they are ready, but it made it difficult to plan a meal; our small plates came out first, but the noodles we imagined as an accompaniment to the lobster came out ten minutes before the lobster. The waiter offered great recommendations for sake and wine/beer pairings. The ambiance is nice. Overall the food was good, but we expected more for the amount of money spent (even adjusting for the higher average prices in Miami Beach).
Wonderful Food Selection and Unique Twist on Asian Cuisine.
We began our dining with wine (unknown choice) - nevertheless we quickly fell in love with it.
The servers - starting from entering the restaurant hostess seating us to the waiters and their support staff were divine all without attitude. Terrific!
Food arrived promptly (four courses) after ordering, each with an explanation 'for our knowledge' and tips of accompanying accouterments.
Spectacular and creative fusion dinner, fabulous new restaurant!
Outstanding food but more importantly, wonderful service from the hostess to the bartender to our server. Thank you Christin and Biljana.
Rediculous price for Peking duck that was almost inedible
so many good things to eat on this menu! The edamame dumplings and the enoki mushrooms and the crispy tuna and the hamachi were so delicious. You really can't go wrong with your ordering here. The staff is lovely and attentive. And the music is great!
Nice restaurant with great cocktails. Food was good. Did not blow us away. Not one of those meals you'll remember forever. The service was however exceptional. And did we mention the cocktails?
Great service, fast and delicious. Food is a bit overpriced but the experience it worth it. We were lucky to find a table as the place filled very quickly - definitely recommend making reservations. The snapper and edamame dumplings were outstanding. Gotta try the corn as well, it's right on point. Enjoy!
Decent meal to try if you want something new. Not worth the money though.
So delish! The service was on point and the food was brilliant. I would recommend to pre-order the Peking Duck since it's a unique take on a traditional service. Well worth the $95. Drinks were good. Probably too good since we rolled out of here. The ONLY complaint would be the fact that they use wooden-disposable chopsticks. It is almost like take-out and not a fine dining experience.
We walked into this hipsterified, opium den intimate restaurant and enjoyed what was a really wonderful meal at this relatively new restaurant on south beach. My husband and I ordered the tuna on crispy rice, pork buns, and eggplant appetizers- all wonderful. Main course was the snapper, which was a little bland, but still enjoyable. Dessert- a chocolate moullet in passion fruit sauce- amazing. Highly recommend it.
I miss you
Bazi is definitely one of Miami's best new eating posts. Highlights were the eggplant with pork appetizer, the short rib chow fun, and the rib-eye. Will definitely be frequenting this gem.
Bazi, in the SoBe restaurant scene is Just "OK". We had their premiere dish, Peking Duck 3 ways (which is really 4 ways). 2 of the 4 really good, the other 2 (duck salad and Lo Mein very average). Additionally, we tried the much talked about whole fried snapper. Again, just OK. Bazi is very pretty and cool. The bartenders were talented. However, with so many great dining options in SoBe and the prices at Bazi $$$, it does not merit my recommendation for others to try it out at this time.
Soup broth too salty to consume, snapper was very fishy and tasted bad and we sent it back and ordered grouper, which was way overcooked. Manager came by and we told him politely our honest opinion and he didn't seem to care too much. Ambience was nice and the menu is creative but the execution in the kitchen was lacking.
As a Chinese, I always wanted to learn about how other people understand Asian food (other than stuff like general tso chicken or sweet sour pork). I had the tasting menu at Bazi with girlfriend and every one of the ten-ish dishes made us smile: they made the dishes with that touch of asian concept in such a creative and unexpected way.
The noodle and the enoki mushrooms were bit too salty. And it was new years eve the service was a little bit eager to finish our table. Other than that everything was nice.
