Out of passion, tradition, hard work and integrity, Bavaro’s opened its doors in March 2009 as the first traditional Neapolitan Pizzeria in the state of Florida. Determined to share their family recipes with the world, Dan Bavaro, his wife Anna-Maria, and their five beautiful children packed their U-Haul, left their friends and family, drove from New Jersey to Tampa, and set out to provide for others the same love, energy, and authenticity that they experience around their own dinner table.

We are regular customers, this is the first time we had extremely poor service. Waited 30 minutes for a server to even come to the table. Took over 1.5 hours to get our food. Noise level was incredibly high in the outside sitting area, so we sat on the side near the entrance. They need to tone down the music, way too loud to even have a conversation for 2 people at a small table. Food was good as always, but took forever to get it. What happened?

We booked a 6 pm reservation for Mother’s Day. We were seated promptly, our server was extremely kind and attentive, and the pizza was excellent. The rest was a complete disaster of a night. They were out of crostinis so we couldn’t order the bruschetta appetizer (poor ordering done by kitchen manager to prepare). No worries, we just decided to skip appetizers and order mains. We put in our order no later than 6:15 (likely sooner, but I’m being very generous here). We didn’t receive a bite of food until 7:45. The entire time, we watched the other tables around us complain of the ridiculous wait for food. Multiple tables got up and left to eat elsewhere. We stuck it out. There was no manager checking on the tables or offering apologies. I later learned they were not present and “probably spending Mother’s Day with their mother while we all work.” Food was excellent when it finally arrived, but we got home much later than we wanted to on a school night for our kid. Between them not having the right amount of food in stock and the extreme staffing issues the kitchen must have been experiencing, I’m surprised they tried to seat so many more tables than they could handle. We certainly can’t trust this restaurant for special occasions until they replace the manager of the Sarasota location.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. However, they ran out of bread at 5:30 on Mother’s Day so I couldn’t even get my favorite appetizer which is why we selected the restaurant to begin with. Nonetheless, I’ll be back because I really enjoy this restaurant.

We had a very nice relaxing dinner here. We sat outside at a high top table, it was cooler than inside by the oven. Our server was very attentive and the food was fresh. We had a chopped salad loaded with protein and just enough dressing. The Margherita pizza was delicious, the cheese and tomato went together so nicely. The food was also affordable! We would definitely eat here again!

We have been to this restaurant a few times but haven’t been in awhile. We were disappointed. Service was good but felt rushed. Food came out very quickly first appetizer then our meal. None of us were like wow this is good! Probably will not return:

We had a great time at Bavarro's Food was great. This was our friend's first time there and they loved it. They had live music which was very nice. our only complaint, the music was a bit too loud. We had a hard time having a conversation over the music.
