The Bavarian Chatswood
Didnt have German Beer Stock
Many dishes were not available to order
The Aircon was not working was very cold
Outdoor heating was not great
Service was good and there was food to suit everyone from 17 to 85 in our group. The atmosphere was busy but not too noisy. We all enjoyed the night and walked away content and happy - good food, beer and snaps will do that :)
They have drastically reduced the number of German beers on tap, and if the ones remaining only about half were actually available. This is very disappointing!
Good food and great service!
The service was very good. Food was yummy too.
Was very disappointed that the main reason we went was the Monday special of purchase a beer and get chicken wings for $1. They had run out by the time of our booking. In addition they had no pretzels, no garlic bread and goodness knows what else they didn't have. Didn't stay past 1 beer - very disappointing as it was a birthday dinner for me.
The food is great for those looking for a good schnitzel and a beer, that is the only recommendation really. Service slow, some staff nice such as Guest Manager, but wait staff slow and quite off. Not sure I have any other expectations. The York Street property is much better.
Great meal, excellent service by Paula (very friendly and efficient)
All 4 of us enjoyed our meals
Music was a bit loud, made conversation hard to hear at times
Great overall experience.
Food was as expected and exceptionally done and presented, German style beer was great.
The staff made the night very enjoyable with the right amount of attention and friendliness.
The group came away very satisfied.
Food was so so, the new Sweet Caroline beer was very nice, but at nearly $12 it's hardly a bargain. Waitresses were welcoming and attentive, however bar service and food orders were very slow. It could take 10-15mins to pour a beer. Not in a hurry to go back.
On arriving the service was friendly and organised,so a good start. Unfortunately it was downhill from there because we were seated at the back where they forgot us. Out of the 8 mains they forgot mine. They also ran out of most of the beer that we wanted to try and ended up with what they had left. I ordered a glass of wine, and was told they didn't have that either! Not a good 'beer' cafe is it? We repeatedly had to request plates and glasses, etc. Service was nice but that's it.
The service was terrible, waitresses forgot to order certain drinks! Once we reminded them they still didn't come so we had to wait at the bar for 10 minutes. Where the waitress tried to clean my wine glass with her hand, when asked she placed it in the dishwaher. Took over glad an hour to receive the bill- which was incorrect. Our food was cold!l the bar was covered in DIrTy classes- yuck'n
Great food but the service was lacking, we were behind a room break and no one came around to check if everything was ok or we needed more drinks.
Had a Fathers" Day lunch with 5 of us. The service was excellent & our meals came out fairly quickly. All of us were happy with our choices with the pork knuckle being a very generous serving, the bread rolls very fresh & the other dishes well cooked.
It wasn't special. Schnitzel dry, crackling inedible, garlic bread a clump of bread.. No special character to the food, just colourless, brown services of not great food. I cook myself, so hate paying for something less than what I can do myself at home. Disappointing considering it was dinner out for my sons 15th & it was almost $200. The beer was the best part & that came out of a keg or tap!
Food was okay. Came out in strange order, mains first, drinks half way through the meal and had to ask about our starters.
Waitress was slow and never came back, dealt with 4 staff members. Tables around us were not cleared in a timely manner.
Don't bother booking a table, show up and eat in the pub area and treat it as such.
The worst schnitzel that I've ever had in my life. Many ordinary first food restaurants do a better job. A waiter person could not answer some basic questions about dishes. Quite disappointed. I'll never go back.
Great food as usual, alcohol free beer is ideal for drivers and anyone who has to restrain from alcohol but still enjoy a beer feeling
I was very unimpressed with the service at the Bavarian cafe, firstly we went with a group of 20 people for my husbands birthday. It was the long weekend in June Saturday night the 11th to be exact, we were charged "public holiday surcharge" however Saturday isn't a public holiday, which I think is a disgrace that you could charge when it is regular day. We also paid a credit card (which is a joke but I can't wear) but basically we were charged 12% which is a disgrace in my opinion.
Good food ( even if the Wiener schnitzel
Was a bit tough ) but as usual bad service. Also bad choice to call 2 different dishes wiener and Vienna schnitzel very confusing when you order.
We had a Family Birthday and the Bavarian Bier Cafe offered a menu that was able to cover all tastes. It was a fun evening, plenty of good food and drink options. Would definitely go again!
Hopeless as always. Booked for a Melbourne Cup lunch - set menu. The restaurant is practically empty and we are sat at high top table 3cm from the DJ and his obnoxious party music. I'm young person but guys it's a Melbourne Cup lunch not a bloody night club. Good tunes later in the afternoon cool but not that rubbish at 12:30. When I ask where the arrival drink is I'm told that "we don't have you as booking for the set menu and we don't have enough meals"... fine we will just order A la carte...
This was the third time dining at Bavarian Bier Cafe in the last couple of months, for both lunch and dinner. The venue is nice and the staff are great, friendly and efficient. There were 10 people in our group. The design your own salad was great, value for money and good serving size. My friends enjoyed the schnitzel, hot dog and pasta. The pulled pork burger on the pretzel was very poor value, very small serving. Should serve more sides with the meals.
Food was great. Ambience and service was excellent. Only negative is that the wine was expensive.
Nice food and drinks with vibrant atmosphere
A really great meal with everyone thoroughly enjoying their menu choice. Staff were VERY friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was both relaxed and conducive to the family being able to enjoy a lovely meal together without the need to shout above the background noise.A nice touch was the wandering musicians who played at our table to start the evening off.
we had a great waitress, she was around but not intrusive. All requests met with a smile. Food was good, though my pork salad was a little salty and the ratio of pork to salad could have been better. The pork belly was very good. Prices are reasonable and good drink options
I've been to various Bavarian Bier Cafe Locations and they al always consistent to hearty delicious food as a reasonable prices. Will recommend to anyone.
Firstly, the good bits. Had the Nurnberger Mini roasted sausages and the red cabbage salad and a warm pretzel with butter, which was fabulous. I had a potato salad a few years ago and it was good. I am German so I know German food and this potato salad last night was pathetic. Sliced warm potatoes and a bit of parsley sprinkled over the top. WTF?! What happened to the diced pickles and mayonnaise? The dried out Black Forest slice was not edible (and was a joke at $11). Very poor effort.
Everyone was happy with their food, noise levels weren't too high, service fantastic. Only feedback is some of the seating needed repair - sitting on torn vinyl can be uncomfortable.
If you love beer it's a good place to go. Food choice is limited. Staff aren't that warm.
Food was ok - a little over priced for what you received on your plate. Service team are lovely.
Good portion size but could do with a few veggies
The only thing Bahamian was the name. Half pork nucklecwas over fried
This wasn't my first visit, but still great atmosphere, great food, great location even if you don't drive, great service staffs are polite and friendly or probably not many customers when we visit.
Amazing food and great place
Delicious food with huge serves
Some of the wait staff were quite unhelpful and had bad attitude. They were inattentive and we had to request multiple times for water to be brought out.
Great environment, fantastic food.
