The food was good, the drinks were not. We were seated an hour and a half before our dinner arrived. We were charged prices higher than what was listed on the menu and when we asked about the bill the staff argued with us. Our original server fixed the issue, but we will not be back.

We had a great time at Bauer farm kitchen. Definitely get the chef's board, it was huge and amazing! We shared small plates - spaetzle, Ratatouille, cauliflower, and sausage, and they were all delicious!

To understand the situation it was Valentine’s Day and they were very busy so it could be a one off situation. We came in and before we could tell the host we had a reservation she told us to sit at the bar. She did not come back over to ask us anything and we had to tell the bartender (who was very nice and understanding) we had a reservation. We ordered an app and wasn’t given plates for it until about 5 mins after the app arrived. We then received our entree an hour after our reservation. The food overall was good. We ordered a steak but wasn’t asked how we wanted it done which I thought was strange. Was not how I wanted to celebrate the holiday and was overall pretty disappointed.

We made a reservation for two at 7:15, for Valentine’s Day, a few weeks in advance. We were running about 5-7 minutes late but we called just prior to our reservation time to let them know. The hostess said it wasn’t a problem. When we arrived at the hostess stand, the hostess was about to take another couple to their table. She said to us, “welcome, I’m going to seat this group and I’ll be right back to seat you at the bar while you wait.” I responded assuming she thought we were a walk-in, “oh, we have a reservation for 7:15.” Her response was, “oh I know we don’t have any available tables.” She walked away. At 7:35, the hostess came back to the bar and had us cash out so we could be seated then she walked away to seat another couple. We waited for 15 minutes before she came back to seat us. Fortunately, the food was very good and our server was attentive.

The service here is fantastic and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. I'm not a big fan of German food, but the dishes we tried were terrific--schnitzel, spaetzle, pierogies and black forest cake were all terrific and I'd highly recommend. On the other hand, unless you like pickled things, the charcuterie board was a pass. It very well could be that this is authentic German food, which in that case go for it. But if you're like me and don't quite like pickled everything (a lot of different vegetables) with some meats, then you should pass or go for a cheese board instead :) I'll be back for sure.

We enjoyed our food however our waiter was inattentive and appeared overwhelmed. He was slow to get us to serve us and once our food was brought to table he never came to check on us or see if we were finished. We sat at the table for 25 minutes after we were done eating before we had to hail him to get our bill. I know this can be improved on.

We read the reviews before dining here. We were expecting better tasting food. We like to explore different cuisines and flavors and we were a bit disappointed. The food was good not great. For the high cost and very small portions, we will not be back. The picture here is the chef’s board that we got as an appetizer. The cheese and meat portions on the board were tiny. Everything else was pickled (we like pickled -but not everything). The server was attentive and pleasant.

I had not been here before but had heard good things about it. It’s hard to imagine in a city with so many Germans that there hasn’t really been a good German restaurant until now. There were so many interesting and appealing things on the menu, that I will certainly be returning to try some more. The food was delicious and the service was very good. In terms of decor, generally they have done a very good job with the space. I wish however they would ditch all those ditzy little collections of countrified objects that seem to be littering every corner available.

Went after a function at the convention center. Dinner and dessert were excellent. As well as the beer selection. Plan on returning soon. Best part? We didn’t need to scream to have a conversation.

First time dining here. Our server--Tamisha I believe--was wonderful. Calmly explained offerings and/or answered questions. She was also very busy with s few large tables and several parties of two. She remained unruffled throughout :)
We shared a bread boat, pickle board, and sauerkraut balls (not my favorite part of the meals--not an Oktoberfest recipe). I had the pork stroganoff which was delicious--the sauce is so good. My husband had the salmon and like his as well.

We always enjoy our meals here! The goulash is fantastic! A little off the beaten path but worth it. The service is slow sometimes so be prepared for a slow moving but tasty meal!

Most interesting menu, perfect portions, with great complimentary side pairings. All four of us tried a different entree and all were pleased. Staff was authentic in there understanding of the menu.

Not all the hype - I was very excited to take my fiancé here for his birthday because he loves German food. We ordered the sauer kraut balls, stroganoff (both were fantastic), the pork chop and mixed German plate for entrees. Our appetizers were fantastic, but our entrees were just OK. Our cocktails were also just OK. The service was very nice and the rooms were quiet. I was disappointed in the decor, some items seemed a little cheesy for a $30 entree type of restaurant. Overall, I would say it was a good experience. However, I felt the ambiance and value were lacking. Let me make this clear— I would go back if invited, but I wouldn’t tell anyone to run downtown to try this place.

Not impressed. This restaurant is all over the place. I think they have a good idea but the execution is lacking. German themed, farm to table with literal wheat on the walls. We ordered the sauerkraut balls as a small plate app and were shocked to see the presentation. It was decidedly phallic. The taste was bland, like someone had made hushpuppies and passed them by a can of kraut on the way to the fryer. The stone ground mustard was a nice touch, but tasted just like the inglehoffer brand from the grocery. I ordered steak frites, medium rare. I got steak well done. One friend ordered soup and salad. The salad was literally entire pieces of bibb lettuce with rolled up prosciutto. The mushroom bisque was cold. The restaurant brought out the completely wrong dish for my other tablemate. I do appreciate that they took this meal off the bill but it was awkward to eat while not everyone had been served. Sigh. A lackluster meal.

The food was good and the service was very nice. The only problem is that parking the car is a challenge. We needed to park far away due to the event parking of fee of $20. it was raining and storming and walking from the restaurant to the car was unpleasant.

Disappointed. Supposed to be a top 10 restaurant on several well thought of lists, but we found it lacking. Service was fair at best. Slow to deliver drinks and just very plain. Made ok suggestions, he did nothing for the experience. There were four of us, with only 1 of the 4 liking our entrees. I had the pork chop and it was really good. Well cooked with a nice sauce. Not sure it was a $30 entree though. My wife and friend had the gnocchi and mushroom bisque. The gnocchi just was not good. No flavor and the gnocchi were just little mounds of undercooked dough. The bisque was ok, a little too sweet. Our other friend had the schnitzel. Pretty average, not much there. All in all it didn’t live up to its billing and we likely will not be back. Too bad.

Love the goal of this restaurant to serve foods that are locally produced. Too, in this day of searching out foods that are Whole Foods Plant Based this restaurant is getting very close.

Made a reservation got there 10 minutes early and they still let us go ahead and sit down. The waitress was super nice and the place itself was cozy And warm. Loved it and would go again.

Our food was great & the service was attentive without being cloying. I made a reservation for 8 thinking we would eat in the dining room but they went ahead & gave us a private room & it was perfect. I so appreciated the thoughtfulness of the staff.

One of the best overall meal experiences I’ve ever had. Scallops were EXCEPTIONAL. Chef really knows how to balance flavors and take your taste buds on a journey!
