Bauer Farm Kitchen
Strange tacky decor but amazing food. The mushroom soup is outstanding.
Good beer and wine selection; German menu with some twists; food was excellent; great for a dinner where you can also sit and talk.
Another excellent experience! We enjoyed trying new dishes and speaking with the wait staff about the plans for the next incarnation of the restaurant. Good luck to all!
It was a great restaurant. so much better than I expected.
Service was horrendous! We were seated 25 minutes before anyone took a drink order. Free dessert was promised to compensate, but didn’t happen. Apologies were half hearted at best. We enjoyed the food, but service needs to be far more professional before we recommend to others or choose to return ourselves.
There were too many good choice, need to come back
Great food and drink selection. We exception as long service.
Schnitzel was very good.
The wife enjoyed her goulash.
Curtis was great food was delicious
Cheese appetizer very nice. Pork chops over cooked and tough. Ratatouille kinda of boring! Really disappointed generally. So sorry really wanted to enjoy everything and give s good review!
Great food and service.
Great food, drinks, good explanation of menu and recommendations provided. Very pleased with experience
Food was slow to come out. Waiter was super busy.
We had a great time celebrating my son’s birthday. We had desserts and drinks. They were delicious. Our server Kurtis King was super attentive and knew the menu very well. Overall a great experience.
Very up to date German influenced menu. Aesthetically pleasing design. Staff wonderful.
We had a great experience - top notch service and excellent food. We will definitely be back.
It was amazing! The cheese board, ratatouille, and pork chop were so delicious! Highly recommend!
The atmosphere, service, and food were all amazing!
Food was excellent.
awesome food and service. a real Cincinnati treasure.
Our waiter Curtis was wonderful. Our food was good and hot. I love the half circle booth. That means I get to sit real close to my handsome husband. Very enjoyable.
Mushroom Bisque and Pork Chop were great. Dining area decor was OK. Located in basement, so no windows, but no problem with noise level. Unique German cuisine. Give it a try.
Food is good, not great; pacing is pretty slow, and a party in the bar area made the restaurant noise level unbearable.
The food is wonderful and we are so happy they are relocating with the building being sold.
OUTSTANDING experience from start to finish! We LOVED our server, Clint, and all of his recommendations. He was very knowledgeable and personable. We coursed out several items so we could try every section of the menu and it was absolutely delicious. We will be back!
I loved the feel and ambiance of the restaurant. Being down one level from the street made it feel quite cozy. The food was spectacular, I'm always happy to find a place with spaetzle on the menu! The table next to us had gotten the Tête u Couchon meal, it was amazing to watch their server carve up and serve the star dish... definitely thinking about calling ahead for that for a future visit!
Innovative and fresh takes on traditional German meals with great attention to detail. Highly recommend the amazing pork chop and chicken schnitzel was fresh and lively. The chef is top notch.
Awesome. Exceeded expectations. Prices are very fair for what you receive.
Food was terrific, as was the service provided by Christian our server. Great job!
I wanted so badly to like Bauer more than I did. We went based on the Cincinnati magazine best of article, this resturant placed ahead of some our favorite places. In order to reccomend a resturant it needs to have excellent food, ambiance and service. They missed the mark immediately, the entrance was odd and disconnected from the resturant. From a decor standpoint there were some nice feautures but it lacked beauty, which took away from our experience. We ordered 3 dishes, Ratatouille (Not worth the price), gnocchi (amazing and very well crafted) and a burger (tasted good, cooked to perfection). Each dish was paced way to slowly, 20 plus minutes between each, we we're ready to go by the time the last arrived. To say yes to dessert felt like we might be there until close. Our server was knowledgeable. This is just a side note and maybe personal preference, they did not have an open kitchen, which I believe is a mark of a good restaurant. To smell all the food cooking and see the chefs working creates anticipation for my meal.
Wonderful meal and great service. It is a nice restaurant downtown so you will drop a bit of cash but I thought it was more than reasonable for the quality and quantity that we got. If I lived in cinci I would be a regular.
Excellent food. Great wine selection. And fantastic service. Would definitely go back again.
The food was absolutely outstanding! The chef board had so many delicious, unique flavors. It alone is worth a visit. Very memorable meal. Our entire party of four was very impressed. It was one of the best meals I have ever had.
The food was great - dumpling soup, sauerbraten, pieroges, ratatouille were all really good. Uniques takes on drinks, some hard to find German beers, finish the meal with an underberg it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a while.
Excellent menu. Steak frites was cooked perfectly. The real standouts for us were the cocktails.
Fantastic service...terrific food well prepared and the presentation was great. Great bar.
After hearing so much about this restaurant,
My wife and I were very excited to try. Came back a little underwhelmed and disappointed as it didn’t really live up to the hype. If Bauer is this year’s #2 in the city (according to Cincinnati Magazine for 2019) then all the restaurants in the city have a long way to go to even be in the same breath as Sotto on food, service, and overall experience.
Menu items overly complex for farm-to-table profile, using mix of local and exotic components. Basement locale is dour. Decor is bizarre, with old "farm stuff" plus 78 rpm records on tables with empty "vintage" salt/pepper sets. Servers wear drab, heavy workers' aprons that look dirty. Stairs are substantial, no elevator. An impressive list of European beers.
Food was great and service was excellent! It’s one of my fav places in cinci hands down!
Amazing! Food was fantastic and the service was great.
