e sat at the bar, and had plenty of room, even though all of the seating was occupied. The bartender was great, very friendly and attentive. We both had seafood and it was excellent.
Restaurant is quiet and nice but they were surprisingly very difficult trying to accommodate a gluten free and dairy free allergy in our party. Very inflexible and instead of offering substitutes just brought incomplete plates out. Service was a bit slow too since there was only one waiter on for a Saturday night.
New Years Eve dinner at 6:30, very quiet and relaxing. Service was great and the food was plentiful.

Aragosta was listed as a place that was serving brunch on Christmas Day, but they in fact were not and the menu that was available and was small extremely overpriced. We decided to order a drink because we had already parked, the drinks were okay at best, but do not order a Bloody Mary.
We got the s’mores platter and cocktails by the fire pits and had a great time! The blankets were a great touch on this cold night too. The cocktails were delicious! Great girls night, but would also make for a great date night spot — make sure to book ahead.
The menu was very limited and if you didn't like truffle oil you were in trouble. The decor was dark and dated and seemed plastic. There was only one other table of 3 whilst we were there, it was deserted. . I'm sure in summer its a nice spot but its certainly not worth the cab ride from downtown Boston. Its basically a hotel bistro.....
Our main issue was the wind outside - literally blew chairs and tables away. Fun night good food

Came here on Saturday at around 8 pm. The place was dead, the service was awful: slow, inattentive. Food was bland.
Met friends and family for dinner and drinks. Sat on the patio overlooking the harbor. Nice ambience. Food was good. There Chowdah is the star. Scallops were good, and everyone in my party seemed to enjoy there meals. Service was decent, and the drinks were plentiful. I would go back again.

The experience was awful. When we arrived right on time for our reservation, we ended up having to wait 15 minutes in order for them to seat us in a nearly entirely empty patio. Secondly, the menu on Open Table, which is quite large with many vegetarian options, is not up to date as compared to the extremely limited menu at the restaurant. Thirdly, our reservation was for 7:30pm on a Saturday night and they were out of nearly half of the entrees (including the one vegetarian option) on their already limited menu with no alternatives. When we asked the waiter to speak to the chef for other options, he never did. We should have left then, but on a Saturday night, out options to go elsewhere were very limited. Further, we ended up waiting 45 minutes for entrees of a cold salad, burger, and lobster roll - 45 minutes!! And through this time, we had to seek water refills from everybody else beside out waiter who was extremely innattentive. The food was OK, but I would never go back there. Ever. This is also the first time I have every felt the need to write a review given how dissappointed I was with the level of service since we had brought out of town guests with us. So embarrassing!
We went in for our reservation around 7:10 pm. Our reservation was at 7:15/ We requested to sit outside at one of their fireplace tables and were seated right away. The fireplace was not lit but we figured our waiter would do that for us.
My husband and I waited around and no waiter came around. There was a female waitress cleaning up a table right beside us but she never checked on us either. She just continued to clean up her table. After looking over the menu and knowing what we wanted to order for apps. dinner, and drinks, still no one had come to our table. We then waited for over 20 minutes and no one came so we left.
We were very disappointed since we had come across the city specifically to dine there and the experience was so quickly awful. I am so hesitant to go back.
Since this is so close to the heart of the north end, you can do better, but it does have a waterfront patio. However, the patio and the place itself could use an update to look nicer. Food was good, nothing too special.
We went to sit on the patio for Tall Ships. We had a reservation for noon and when we arrived no one was around. After 10 minutes a line was forming and the manager appeared and looked frantic. Many of the guests were angry. Although most of the parties had reservations the dining room had not yet been switched over to lunch and the manager said they would not be ready for at least another half hour. After some discussion he was able to get everyone to the patio as all requested but it was not set and everything was wet from the rain. Tall ships was a huge planned event and this restaurant has prime viewing - this should have been a foreseeable rush of people. Drinks did not appear for nearly 45 minutes and our food came 1 hour and 30 minutes later. My sandwich did not have all of the listed ingredients and it took 15 minutes for the ingredients to be provided as listed on the menu. The view made the wait better but the service and unpreparedness was disappointing. The manager took our drinks off the bill, but it was only after we asked and there was no effort to apologize for the inconvenience and poor service. The food was fine, but we probably would not recommend this restaurant.
Very disappointed- the restaurant is under construction, the wait staff was inexperienced (the waiter mentioned it was his "first night" 6 times during the meal, and it showed...) and the food was horrible.
Aragosta is under going a renovation inside. We sat outside which is the only reason I would give this any good marks. The menu was a disappointment, the waiter told us at least 7 times it was his first day, the food was only passable. I would not recommend at all until they complete renovation and find themselves. We've had nice meals previously and the outdoor s'mores tables are fun, but even with respect to the fire pit tables, only one was in working order.
The menu has changed.
No more charcuterie board, and the other choices were so basic that the experience was overall downgraded.
Aragosta has always been a hidden go to gem.

The burgers were over cooked sent it back to get it well done again. The deserts were previously frozen and tasted stale even the icecream was lousy. The waiter was awesome and tried to help but it was a disaster. They comped 1 Burger and the desert. The entire meal should have been comped. Had a great time last year...sounds like there is new ownership.
We arrive at the restaurant after making a reservation a month in advance to celebrate my wife'said graduation, when we arrived we were told the restaurant was reserved for a private event and we have to go and eat in the hotel lobby were they put some tables. Obviously it was very uncomfortable, they offer a small table for 6, had no view (that was one of the reasons why we went) and the manager never apologize for the confusion or offer anything for our trouble. We left the restaurant and had to eat in a average place because everything was booked in the area
My four friends had all arrived from out of town and I was excited to bring them to aragosta, a cool place with firepits. I made the 4pm reservation in advance and even called and left a message that we prefer a fire pit table. When we arrived, the place was deserted. Finally a very rude bartender arrived and told us the dining area was not open and he didn't know anything else. He said he was busy cleaning up the mess on the bar. When we asked about our reservation and food, he said he had a bar menu but had a horrible attitude so we decided to leave. If the restaurant is not open certain hours, you should not be allowed to book it through OpenTable. Terrible experience.
Aragosta has a beautiful location and wonderful views of the harbor. However, their service is seriously lacking. I made a reservation and called to ask some questions - I left three voicemails about my questions over the span of five days and never received a call back. When we arrived at the restaurant there was nobody to check in with and nobody confirmed our reservation or checked that we were there. Drinks took about 30 min to come out (for 5 cocktails) and food even longer. It's a shame because it's such a beautiful spot but the service was seriously sub-par.
Really nice bar with good cocktails in a good location on the wharf. However the food and the service in the restaurant section were poor. Cold under cooked food and we had to wait 45 mins to get wine. Then they told us they didn't have the bottle we ordered. To be fair they took my wife's entree of the bill and offered a free bottle of wine as a replacement. We declined the offer as we had finished eating. The kobe burger was quite good.
This is the first time I have felt compelled to write a review. Aragosta was horrible. We went for Mother's Day brunch. We arrived at 1145 for our 1145 reservation. There were maybe 3 other tables seated at the moment, and the hostess/waitress told us it "would be a few minutes". So we waited there with our 3 kids who were restless and climbing the bar stools. She then took us to a table right next to where we stood. There was food on the floor - half a sausage, some asparagus, and some bread. Clearly never cleaned from the diners before us. We got the menu - a plain simple breakfast menu - at almost noon one would reasonably expect a brunch menu - maybe even a special Mother's Day menu. We asked if they were serving lunch, the server took 5 minutes to find an answer. When the answer was yes, there is a bar menu for lunch, my wife decided on the French toast. She was told they were out of French toast. We had to ask three times for water. I saw another diner have to walk over to the food service station to ask for a coffee refill. The food was sub-par at best. I could have easily made the turkey club I ordered, and my children's pancakes were hard. Overall, it was a terrible experience on a special occasion. It is a shame that such a nice location and a restaurant within a nice hotel could be so bad. We will not return.
This is only a place to hang out if you need a quiet place with a bar... We ordered the mussels with wine & garlic, but taste plain. Also salad greens are not fresh. The table next to ours even complaint to the waiter and had it switch.
I booked in a couple hrs before arrival but never received a call-back as their answering service said, on 7 attempts to call, they were busy assisting other customer. My date and I arrived only to find an empty restaurant with no one eating; that should have been the first red flag.
The cheese board was cold, straight out of the fridge- cheese is meant to be served at room temperature. This was the first bit of wasted money on an overpriced starter.
Cocktails were fine and reasonably priced. However, the wine from JOSH vineyards, which NEVER is priced over $20 at any wine store across the country, was priced at $50. Absolutely ridiculous! And the Veuve champagne was a whopping $175 when the actual retail price is NEVER over $50.
Although the service was nice, I can see why it was not busy. The food was average and way overpriced, as was the wine-champagne list.
It was my birthday 🎉 and I wanted steak and my fiance treated me there. I just wished it wasn't so cold and rainy outside.

Food was good but service was horrible and slow. There was an hour between being served our appetizer and entrée. I was not offered another drink, or even more bread. Just sat at an empty table for an hour with no food. And looking around, every other table was in the same situation. I almost walked out.
We attended for Restaurant Week so we got a great value for our three course meal. However, we felt a bit confused at the end of the meal when we received the check and learned about the outrageous cost of the water that we ordered. I'm not particular about my water, so let me caution you about ordering the bottled water in advance. The food was amazing. We had the petite filet with the crab stuffed jumbo shrimp. Our only complaint about the steaks is that they both came well done even though we ordered them medium and medium well. They were still delicious. I had the apple crisp with raspberry sorbet for dessert and I ate every last bite. So delicious. My friend very much enjoyed her gelato. All in all, I would recommend for people looking for a fancier date. We also didn't have a view from our seat even though the restaurant was mostly empty when we attended. The ambiance is romantic, but be ready to spend!
The food/service was good; however, on the expensive side.
The restaurant was fine in terms of the look and feel. The views were non-existent - too bad it was on the first floor. The place was only half full, yet the service was slow at first - quite a wait before we were greeted by our server - after that, the water was terrific.
The problem - a huge one, was that our food did not come. The kitchen was obviously in crisis, and we waited for over an hour after placing our order (1.5 hours after arriving) and then left - without eating. The waiter was SO apologetic - not his fault - and he did insist on comping us our glasses of wine, but we couldn't even complain to the manager, as she was tied up with other diners complaining about the same problem. A real shame on a special night.
It was a little dissapointed. They told me I had no reservation when I got there but there was plenty of room, so we got a table. In the website they don't tell you it would be a breakfast buffet. I didn't like the buffets. We decided to stay because of my friends. It was a pretty expensive paying $30 for the amount of food I took. I will be back in summer to try the patio. It looks like nice!
Went here after reviewing their brunch menu online. The brunch looked amazing. We were really excited to go there to celebrate a birthday. When we got there the service was poor and there was no menu. Just a limited selection of breakfast foods. They didn't tell us how much it was and based on the selection I thought it was going to be complimentary. Just eggs, bacon, yogurt and some breads and potatoes.
I assumed wrong. The waitress dropped the bill off and the brunch was 25 pp. For what we got, it was absolutely not worth it. Very disappointing.
We were celebrating our anniversary and made reservations because it has been hard to get a table there in the past. This used to be a wonderful place with great outdoor seating, an excellent menu and service, but this time when we arrived there for dinner there was nobody to seat us - we had to go looking and found the wait staff gossiping outside and not paying attention. We got a nice outdoor table but the "new" menu consisted of three unimaginative dishes: chicken, meat, fish. I asked for the wine list and they pointed to the same menu that had a couple of very average wines by the glass. We left and ate at Lucca in the North End instead, which was wonderful. What happen here? We used to love this place.
Service was worst I ever experienced. Entree came before apps, some apps never came...drinks took 30 minutes, dishes were wrong and we said we can't eat pork and pork was all over the food😒
