Terrific waterfront location for business lunches. Delicious food and fast great service.
It was a really good experience highly recommended
Everything was great. Just a little more expensive than I had predicted. Food was great. Ambience and service was excellent .
Very disappointed in this restaurant. It's very nice with great views but that's about it. Most cocktails weren't good. The appetizers were ok but the entrees were very disappointing. Wouldn't come back here.
The only thing saving this place was the view. Hostess was downright rude and made is feel unwelcome. We brought birthday cake and upon her seeing it first scolded us and told us of the per slice serving fee. Fee wasn't the problem, the delivery of the message was. Then, to make matters worse, made us witness her opening the box so if the cake was damaged in transit in any way, it would be our fault. Moving on to food, pastas were ok, pork chop good and steak flavorless. Waiter better than hostess but cocktails took forever and wife asked for "very cold" cosmo and he clearly dodnt check that it was room temp. Cold hostess and warm drink to start was hard to come back from. So frustrating when a nice place is ruined by unwelcoming service.
Went to batello for a special occasion Javier was our server, he was outstanding! everything was lovely overall. will definitely be back
The food is delicious and has creative flair - grilled peaches and burrata, beets with goat cheese , gnocchi, and pancetta wrapped scallops. All excellent. Desert did not disappoint either croissant crisps and chocolate cake with coconut ice cream, both exceptionally fresh and flavorful. And the cocktails are special too -Misunderstood ginger whiskey with matcha tea...yes please! Service was attentive. Just had to wait a little long for a couple of requests, like a glass of ice and a taste of wine that we wanted to purchase a bottle of. So that our appetizers arrived before our wine. But they held back dinner a bit to accommodate us. The views of NYC are spectacular, but the dock is "closed for maintenance" which should be shared with the customer at reservation time since this is definitely part of the reason you come to Battello.
Wonderful food, cocktails, service and atmosphere. The marina pier location with a view of lower Manhattan, the open dining space, high ceilings and cozy seating are fantastic- Add-on to this, the seasonal menu with fresh ingredients was flavorful, imaginative and beautifully presented. Last but not least, the service was informative, friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant-
We had a work party here in their back private space before it shut down for renovation. The food was great and everyone enjoyed the party, but my only complaint is the private room has no water views. Other than that the it was a great time. I especially enjoyed the passed chicken and waffles appetizer and the nice selection of meat and cheeses they had on display. I would visit Batellos again in the future, especially considering the lack of "upscale" lunch spots in the Newport Jersey City area.
Been there a few times and usually Awesome! Maybe they were having an off night but we will be back.
My experience was good at the resturant but i got food poisioning.
Our waiter Alex was GREAT ! View, food and service was stellar. We will be back!
Definitely recommend - great view, excellent service, nice ambiance, food was good (not great). Went for my wife's birthday and only mentioned in reservation (asked for a nice table - which it was) and they had set up a small cake with a candle (which I didn't even ask for!). It is a little thing but it speaks volume for the great service!
I was an amazing dinner and thanks to the chef Ryan Depersio for his creative menu. We had the seafood tower which was impeccable, sea scallop crudo, and the awesome butter poached lobster which I still remember the taste of it.
The staff was superb and the food was just as good! Our waitor was brand new (his first) day bit it felt like he came with the furniture. So professional and knowledgeable about everything. Great job!!!
The food was absolutely delicious! Our party had black sea bass, bronzino and lobster along with a grilled pear and burrata appetizer. I have never had fish so perfectly cooked and beautifully seasoned! Although not inexpensive, the incredible food is worth every penny!
Celebrated our daughter's birthday with lunch here. Great space with whitewashed brick, soaring ceilings and windows everywhere. View of NYC skyline is magnificent. Food was spectacular...we shared grilled peaches with burrata to start...like eating sunshine! We all chose the crab cake burger... very large serving with tasty sauce and bacon. Sides were French fries or tossed salad. We washed it down with a bottle of rose... more sunshine to taste. Excellent service by Tammy. This was a very special day!
My table was reserved on time. The ambience and location was just perfect. loved the outside deck and food of course
Battello is a waterfront destination in a large hall, likely a converted boat house, with excellent views and valet parking. The portions are generous and the dishes are, for the most part, tasty. Unfortunately, the chef will not permit some members of the party to enjoy the tasting menu, which consists of any available dish as opposed to a separate or limited menu, while other members do not. That is irksome. Overall, Battello is a solid option for Jersey City dining.
Went here from a visit from Las Vegas. Food was great and atmosphere was amazing!
Great place great staff
Excellent food and service in a great location. Quality of food was exceptional and food presentation was great. Portion sizes were value for money.
Good food. Good ambiance. Good service.
Menu selection is varied and appealing, as was the preparation of the food. Scallops wrapped in pancetta with quinoa and raisins was especially good. One complaint: desserts are on the skimpy side and more stylish than satisfying. But this is quibbling - the great ambiance more than compensates!
beautiful location on the water. The Happy Hour prices on drinks and appetizers was a good value. All staff were friendly and efficient. Recommended branzino was delicious, as was pasta and chocolate dessert.
Parking was efficient and convenient with valet at street entrance.
We dined early on a friday night and was in and out in under an hour. My burrata appetizer was the most delicious I have ever had. The Octopus was also delicious. Would go again.
Perfect. Great atmosphere.
Nice view of Manhattan.
If you want horrific service and mediocre food then this is the place for you. Bar was not crowed, yet it took nearly 10 minutes. I'm sorry, but this unacceptable. I had high expectations and they were not met.
We ordered a bottle of Duckhorn, not available. Then asked for Caymus, not available. Manager insisted we get a cheap in expensive bottle that was disastrous. It is common restaurant etiquette to offer the patron a more expensive bottle at the same price. Manager never gave us this option and I was done with the whole experience.
I ENJOYED THE FOOD AND SERVICE. THE VENUE WAS VERY MODERN AND STYLISH
Atmosphere was great; food was phenomenal and service was outstanding. Cassandra was very attentive, without being intrusive. Would highly recommend. We visited Battello's for a Father's Day Brunch but would definitely go back for dinner.
Can't ask for better. It's a hidden gem in Jersey City with a breathtaking view of Manhattan. The food was delicious. My fried chicken & waffles was perfect. The bloody mary was made from scratch and delicious. I love this place.
Food was cold , not cooked correctly for example i had grilled octopus which taste bad couldn't even chew it and paid 17 for this crap, no taste in dishes which we received at all ,my wife had pasta which taste terrible i am not a cook ans i think i would made better pasta. We do not recommend this place. Worst restaurant in jc , the only nice is thing is view but for 150$ for dinner i am sure you can find nice place
Great birthday dinner though we'll return once the patio is open (as the view of NYC is notable).
We had a very enjoyable visit to celebrate my wife's birthday. Unfortunately, the patio area is closed, due to work being done by the landlord (beyond the restaurant's control), but the main seating area is nice. Our food was very good, from appetizers to entrees to desserts. The service was very attentive, and we appreciated a nice visit from the manager, Cesar, who stopped by our table. All in all, a good experience. We will be back.
Wonderful restaurant on the pier over looking the city skyline.
Chic design, great service and delicious food made the night memorable.
Great find in Jersey City for dinner and catching up with friends. We had the pre-fix menu and everything was delicious, but also saw a lot of people coming in for the happy hour. Planning to check out happy hour soon!
A bit noisy. Outside closed due to Marina maintenance so inside extra crowded. The food was very good as usual. I have been there multiple times and always happy overall.
Nice ambience and very good location.. good was great too! A little pricey overall though
Excellent service, nice atmosphere and good food. The valet parking can be closer to restaurant and it will be better.
The food and ambiance were good, but service left quite a bit to be desired. We had an 8:00 reservation for two on a Monday night and waited at least 40 minutes to be seated. It was busy, but as tables emptied out, service seemed to get worse rather than better. There was a very long wait between our first and second courses, and we had to flag down a waiter for a dessert menu and then to order dessert (and they knew we were celebrating a birthday, so would be ordering dessert). Nice spot on the water, but probably won't be hurrying back soon.
