My reviews have become different as I am a new gluten intolerant person. My friends enjoyed their meal with quality and quantity to be above average. For gluten choices it was somewhat limited, which is normal in most restaurants. I had a hamburger without bun and a salad. No fries available as the sweet potato are cooked in same oil and have gluten cross contamination. I have been to other restaurants where gluten buns are available and that fries are gluten free.
We all had the trademark ribs, which were excellent fall-off-the-bone as usual. The soup of the day was an interesting take on chicken with tomato and tortilla chip topping. Service was friendly but slow, perhaps a bit lax. The restaurant was not busy at all. We were in no rush but the wine should have arrived promptly to allow breathing time. Overall a good experience and we'll be back, hoping for a more attentive server.
Thank you so much for the experience Baton Rouge! My friends and I had a great time at your place. Excellent service! Excellent food!
They don’t know how to make a steak. Ribs were okay . Server was confused and did enter the orders correctly. Second time this has happened and will not give it a 3rd try
Nice ambiance and great waiter! Food was fast and parking was easy out front
It was fine thanks. We haven't been there in quite a while and we were all satisfied. Cheers.
Always have a pleasant experience here at Baton Rouge restaurant—food is excellent and atmosphere lends to a very nice evening
Our waiter, John I believe, was great!
Meal arrived cold, although the server took it right away and a manager brought a piping hot replacement out quickly. Server had a bad attitude and did not want to be there. It was not busy - less than 1/3 full so she was not overworked. She did not check in on our entrees after 15 minutes. had to ask for drink refills. The food tasted ok, but would have been better served while hot.
Had great time with family. Wasn't rushed and service was superb. Will definitely come again.
Excellent food and service as always. Steaks and ribs were done to proper temperature and the appetitizers were great. Kids loved their children’s meals as well.
Food was bit slow in coming but it was hot fresh and delicious. Coffee was also slow in coming. All in all a good dinner. Only thing a bit disappointing was they asked when we reserved if we were celebrating anything. We had 8 people in the party. We were celebrating an anniversary. Unlike The Keg who delivers a huge piece of ice cream cake for free, we received nothing.
Seasonal vegetables were from frozen and the steak was over cooked and very fatty. Was my first time there and will be my last. The keg is way better.
Great ambiance. Amazing foood. Would definitely recommend.
Our waiter was somewhat inexperienced; it took her quite a bit of straggle and embarrassment to uncork a bottle of wine. Otherwise, it was smooth.
The service was much better after the manager calmed me down. I had had late night phone calls to alert me to a next day closure and those had interrupted my husband's sleep as he was headed out on a business trip at 4:30 a.m. The restaurant closure did not take place but I was still annoyed about my previous night's disruptions. The manager provided free desserts and apologized. That made me relax enough to enjoy the great food and service.
Excellent experience for a birthday celebration. Good food/excellent service.
The food was good but the service definitely needs improvement. The waiter seemed to not be happy where he was working therefore not so helpful
Great place with good service and food. Although it was NYE, service was great
Great place wish we had choice for few more Vegetarian appetizers and main course. Otherwise well balanced menu.
It is truly meat lovers paradise.
Good experience was easy to get a reservation for New Years food was yummy
Had early New Year’s Eve dinner. Ribs with fries were excellent as usual, this is our go to place for ribs. Service was timely and friendly.
Service was a bit slow in taking up order, but given the overall slow season of Christmas/New Year, turns out to be fine. Else was pretty much well executed.
Everything was very good and the service was excellent
Good for a large group with two kids. We enjoyed the meal, which was cooked well overall. The service was okay – we probably could have been attended to a little bit more frequently (more water, more napkins) but it wasn’t bad by any stretch.
First experience with this chain and very much what I expected. The location provides for ease of parking and is close to the 401/404 making it convenient to gather people from other parts of the city. Service was excellent.
Our waitress Linda was absolutely amazing! Couldn’t of asked for anyone better. She helped answer all our questions, checked in to see how we were doing, bubbly personality, overall phenomenal! Will definitely be requesting to sit in her section again!
Specifically requested a table as it was a business lunch for 6 people and when hostess called day before to confirm she advised that the restaurant is "booth only" unless you want high top in the bar. So we jammed ourselves thigh to thigh into a booth because it was too late to get in anywhere else. The restaurant DOES have tables. And most of them were empty!!!
Location great to access performing arts centre and service was good. Burger was average, tasteless patty and over cooked, burnt at edges. My kids and I didn’t really enjoy it but the others in our party thought the food was okay. Fries were yummy!
Met up with friends here on a Thursday night to catch up. Chose BR because it was equidistant from our home and had subsidized parking rebate. AND I knew it would have food that was friendly to my current weight-watching regimen. Was worried about noise level from previous visits. But we were given the quiet table I had requested and had a waiter who was great. Attentive and relaxed and he did not hurry us at all.
I asked if I could get a 3 oz glass of wine and he brought it without charge. I had the fresh tuna salad with dressing on the side and it was a generous portion and delicious. Shared it with my husband who had ordered the filet mignon, also good. My shrimps in the shrimp cocktail were a bit too chewy—my only criticism.
It is a memorable restaurant that I came to Toronto for the first time last year. Ever since , I often come and feel very good.
Excellent food and service, worth the drive. Would recommend it to friends
We enjoyed our lunch very much. However we REALLY appreciated our waiter, Alex, who was very patient, waiting for us to order while one of group was having a major meltdown! He kindly waited until the tears stopped before coming by to take our order!
Waiter was a bit weird, kind of on the defensive side for some reason. But served fast. Wine was good and no any significant amount of noise, which is what you want for a date, so you can actually hear each other without having to scream. Food was ok (ribs), appetizer (grilled calamari) was good.
Food was delicious. Waitress was very nice. But we arrived at 610. Told everyone we were in a rush to see the play. Didn’t get our meal til 725. Not acceptable. Hate the feeling of rushing when we are going out.
My husband ordered the special seafood, Trout. The sides were so confusing he ended up with 2 coleslaws! The waitress could have pointed that out to him when he was ordering. She did return to ask how things were and he asked for a baked potato which would be 4 dollars more but he could have fries. Really! a potato is a potato and cutting and deep frying it takes more time than just putting it in the oven. The coleslaw which my sister and I tried had an unusual taste and none of it was eaten. It was my sisters birthday and when we went to the washroom the waitress asked if it was a special occasion and as I had written when I made the reservation and he reiterated to her that it was why sisters birthday. She promised to bring over a little treat with a candle. It never arrived. My Ahi tuna salad was very good. My sisters beef on a bun - only okay. Expensive and not worth it. Sorry.
The steak was okay but the ceasar salad dressing did not taste right and I got sick the next day.
Good for a show at the George Weston recital hall, just around the corner.
Very disappointed in quality of service waiter completely ignored us ordered starters were fasinobly late like 20 min then order mains came right out but waiter disappeared couldn’t get a drink couldn’t order desert just terrible and the funny think not even other wait staff willing to help just ignoring me and my wife completely never again food is good but your service at Baton Rouge horriable will not return nor recommend
I ordered the avocado sandwich and a side Caesar. It was good, although it fell apart pretty quickly. Good quantity of avocado.
