Bâtard welcomed an OK dining experience. Our particular waitress couldn’t given us precise recommendations when asked (“everything is great”, for both questions on entrees and desserts), although was polite and topped us off frequently. The food was also fair — of all of the dishes, the standouts were the halibut (entree) and rhubarb (dessert). The outdoor dining experience was nice at 9pm in the evening.
It’s a good restaurant - I just don’t think it’s worthy of a Michelin star. Service at peak times suffer and the food while good was not exceptional.
Excelent food, incredible taste, unique
Environment a bit tired/old - surprised they didn't spend COVID time to update. Service was also not quite up to par for a Michelin Star. The food was outstanding, and brought everything up. Some extremely creative dishes all cooked to perfection. If they could just update the environment and top-up the service it would be fine-dining at it's finest.
Staff were friendly and attentive, food was outstanding, would definitely recommend.
Another wonderful dining experience….this time indoors! Food always exceptional including beautiful presentation.
Service (Robert) attentive without being stuffy. And of course Elena welcoming as always as was Matthew who we had the pleasure of meeting for the first time. Of course we’ll be back.
What a wonderful experience... From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed warmly. The sommelier offered execelent advice. All course options were temptingly delicious.
Good deal for 3 courses
Absolutely amazing! The food is delicious, featuring wonderful flavors and unique combinations of ingredients. The service was stellar. Batard is everything you want in a Michelin-starred restaurant.
Some dishes were great. Extensive wine list. Would definitely come back.
Very good choices that will serve everyone’s taste within French cuisine. We left with fully and happy tummies. The desserts was the least interesting in our opinion and the beef tartar the best of the dinner.
Incredible experience !!!
Chef was innovative in creating master pieces that not only pleases the palate but also the eyes His culinary plethora was felt through out the meal.
The sincerity and engagement of the front servers was felt through out the evening . The wine list is point of reference . The ambiance helped to complete the culinary journey . We will definitely dine here again.
Great food. love the wall finish. always pleasant ambiance. strongly recommend
The food was great. Really enjoyed everything we had. The atmosphere was casually elegant and all the staff was most welcoming. Would definitely go again.
Excellent food likely to impress
The chef is an artist who takes standard French bistro food and creates dishes that both recognize and transcend the originals, I.e., the beef tartare that is velvety steak shaped like a slender donut around a brown butter/ egg yolk emulsion. Google the menu and you will see what I mean.
I went to Batard with my fiance for a late birthday celebration. The atmosphere was wonderful, the staff was very friendly and the food was delicious!
Very good food! Great service! More relaxed than it used to be, which is fine.
First time visiting Ba'tard, restaurant is cozy, waiter is attentive and food are good, i would recommend friend to try.
Food was delicious perfectly prepared service was exquisite staff was wonderful restaurant is lovely and quiet we could hear each other perfectly great place for a conversation
A gem 💎 Delicious creative dishes with a reasonable cost 💚
Finding a restaurant that has good food and excellent wine list is believe or not difficult in NYC . This has both...and good service to boot
magnificent wine list and very knowledable sommelier
Outstanding food, great service, no attitude, and a reasonable but extensive wine list.
Great food with spectacular wine list. Price fixed menu is a true bargain. Staff was terrific, sommelier was particularly helpful and knowledgeable. A lovely room with great ambiance.
Wonderful, knowledgeable service. Great food. Nice atmosphere. Would completely recommend.
Honestly, nothing spectacular about this place. I paid $500 to leave thinking “I probably should have gone to Shake Shack”.
Food and service were great. We sat outside and had a wonderful time.
Batard : Amazing food, neighborhood feel. Great eating outside on a beautiful early summer night. The avocado cucumber soup and the duck entree were both amazing, very special, and not fussy. Our server Allison was the best, knowledgeable about the food and enthusiastic, the manager is very special. A totally wonderful restaurant.
Really good food at a fair price, considering the Michelin star! Would have loved to see a wine somelier guide us through the extensive wine list. Service was good, but at this top-level, I‘d expect a little more attentiveness. Biggest flaw in my opinion is the dated interior - the leather benches show signs of heavy usage, the tables should come with a tablecloth because they are quite scratched.
But the most important thing: in person fine dining is back and We really enjoyed our time at Batard!
Everything was excellent and the service was lovely.
