From start to finish an absolutely wonderful dining experience. The staff is extremely accommodating. Great corner table. Started with the oysters and foie gras Then the striped bass and duck breast. I was planning for dessert but we were both completely full so settled for two Irish coffees.
Too noisy and if there were table pads and white table clothes, it would quiet the noise levels and make the environment match the food
Batard is a classical French restaurant in NYC. Excellent scallops. Good foie gras torchon. Don’t miss the duck breast. Ambiance very agreeable. It is open only for diner. The only problem is the menu price very expensive.

Absolutely amazing food! Presentation was fabulous and the food was beyond delicious, cannot recommend this place enough. I brought my boyfriend for a surprise and we both loved every dish we did. The menu is great in that you can combine which courses you want. Will definitely make this a regular on my NY trips and have already recommended to friends and family! Thanks Batard!

One of our favorite restaurants in NYC! The sommelier is amazing and really helpful and we have had awesome wine you can’t find anywhere else. The food is SO good you can’t stop thinking about it. Get the duck!!

Just had a problem with the atmosphere (the seating). We felt like we were too close the guests next to us and in their conversation.
On our part we should’ve told the staff about our check. Two of us didn’t get the fourth course but were charged.
I highly recommend this restaurant for people who want to delve into Michelin starred restaurants.

Really excellent meal. Everything was well-made, the sommelier recommended a lovely wine that was within our price range, and the desserts were terrific. (The breads are outstanding as well - we couldn't stop eating them!)
Foie Gras – My favorite dish of the night – the granola added a nice crunchiness, the sauce added a nice sweet taste. The foie gras itself was thick and lightly salty, and quite a surprising amount. The toast it came with was also delicious.
Pork Belly – Didn’t like this dish as much. The meat itself was quite dry, and the fatty part felt like a separate part of the dish rather than one delightful bite. I wanted a bit smoother combination
Red Snapper – Really nice fish – fresh, tenderly cooked inside and a little bit crispier/crunchier on the outside that was infused with flavor. It was nice and light, and definitely rounded out the dishes for the night. Interestingly, I found it much lighter than the Foie Gras, even though this was an appetizer. The quail my friend ordered was also delicious, but much, much heavier.
White Chocolate Citrus – Delicious desert – the sesame ganache on the bottom was crunchy, the ice cream was sweet and light, while the blood orange added a hint of sourness that added a nice contrast.
The food was excellent - many different options and everything was cooked perfectly. The service was attentive but not hovering. Would definitely recommend.

Always the best. Never disappoints! I’ve been to a ton of fine dining restaurants and Batard never disappoints. The best part is that you could choose to have a smaller portion of a main size dish as your appetizer, and your 3rd course doesn’t always have to be dessert! Whether it’s for work, or family or a romantic date, the atmosphere is just perfect! If they serve it, their steak is the best in Manhattan- better than Capital grille, Wolfgang, Strip House, Keens, Peter Lugars, you name it! Austrian wine lovers, non alcoholic drinks, Batard will not disappoint!!!
Eating at Bâtard was a delightful experience. The ambiance was amazing and the food was fantastic. My expectations were greatly exceeded. I would definitely go back at my first opportunity and if you are reading this - do go!
Reliably excellent food. Service is seamless. The room is beautiful. The lighting is flattering and perfect. On Monday evenings there is no corkage fee so it's a wonderful value as well.

Service was great as usual - we did get seated right by the cheese table which is stationary - could you maybe put it on wheels so that it’s not always near the same tables? Love a delis ious smelly cheese but they smell pretty strong when the table cover is taken off :)

Batard is a jewel that lets ingedients, great food & wine, attentive service shine. However, the noise level, despite generous table spacing, made conversation difficult. I dont think my companion will return.
The appetizers and main courses were all hits — we had the beef tartare, citrus-cured hamachi, lobster tagliatelle, duck, and pithivier of quail + foie gras. The desserts were not as stellar; the soufflé in particular was eggy and overrated. But overall, the dinner was sophisticated and very well-prepared! We’d definitely go back.
The ambiance was quiet and intimate (Thursday night). It’s perfect for dates, special occasions, or people sensitive to noise.
Even my foodie friend from San Francisco said that the meal was unparalleled. Food was fabulous, exquisitely plated and delicious. Lobster Tagliatelle was to die for. BYOB Monday was a real treat. Service was impeccable. Seemed to predict our every want and provided it before we knew that we wanted it. No better place to go in NYC.
Starters were amazing (lobster tagliatelle) but was less enthralled with red snapper main, which could have done with a little more seasoning. Wines all on the pricey side for what they were. Service was correct. Very noisy and bustling atmosphere.
Without question one of the best meals ever in Manhattan or anywhere else for that matter. I am shocked they do not have 2 Michelin stars on the food alone. In fact they should!!
