The food here is excellent and beautifully presented. (The creative take on beef bourguinon was terrific). However, the restaurant itself seems to be in decline. Banquettes are worn and shabby. Chandeliers are dusty and have some burned out bulbs. Tables (no tablecloths) are worn and chipped. Our waiter was pleasant and competent, but inexperienced. No amuses, no petit fours. It was a slow night, mostly empty, so maybe it made everything look worse. But overall this was not the sort of high-end dining experience one would expect at this price point
The menu is interesting. The meal was excellent. Pricing very reasonable. Service was very professional and courteous. Ambience is comfortable and pleasant.
I had wondered what was so special about a Michelin star...now I know.
Had a lovely evening at Batard. The service was amazing and everyone was very attentive. The food was exceptional, especially the beef bourguignon which was the best I’d ever had. We’ll definitely be going back again and can’t wait to try more of their delicious food.
Not a Michelin star at all.
We didn't like it at all. We do not understand what they gave the Michelin star for. Maybe after receiving it, the owners completely relaxed.
1) the toilet is dirty
2) dirty napkins and plates are not cleaned for a long time. service is poor
3) there are no tablecloths on the tables
4) the food is not tasty: foie gras consists more of butter than liver, beef is awful, cream in the dessert fatty with a sour taste like cheap eateries), the choice of cheese is bad
5) the prices are very high
Hi, just want to respond to your comments, First thank you for coming to Batard. Our Foie Gras doesn't have any butter or dairy. Our Beef Bourguignon is a modern interpretation not the traditional version. The cream on the dessert is creme fraiche which is a different flavor profile from heavy cream. Please let us know if you do decide to to return and we can help you with your choices. Thank you.
Food was outstanding. Some of the best we have had. Special praise for their beef tartare. Best ever. Portion size was just right. Service was great. Would definitely visit again
Thank you very much for your review.
I went to Batard for my Birthday and boy am I glad I did!!! The vibe and the people were welcoming in every way. The food was extraordinary, everything we ordered was superb. The flavors and the creativity were extremely well done. Can't wait to go back!!!
A really wonderful evening with friends and great food. All of the meals were well received though they were out of a few items. We will be back!
We sat indoors, awesome ambiance. The server was very attentive. Very good selection of wine by the glass. The food was tasteful. Quite large portions for a Michelin star restaurant.
Excellent all around. We went w the 4 courses and everything was delicious. Service was great. Look forward to returning.
Food was great! We ate outside.
Batard was a great restaurant, deserving of their michelin star. Prix fix menu with choice of courses, no chef tasting menu. But i was very happy with my experience there!
Nice dinner overall.
Batard does classic French bistro food in a way that is totally different: refined, artistic, imaginative. And extraordinarily delicious. You simply cannot go wrong at this restaurant.
Strange ambience, poor service, very underwhelming food. Definitely not worth the price.
three of us dined outside last night at Batard. We each ordered the three course dinner and we didn't duplicate one dish. So three different starters, three different entrees and three different desserts (well one cheese and two sweet!). Know there is a new chef in the kitchen and he is definitely maintaining the Michelin quality eats. Everything was delicious. Do not miss the foie gras! Wine pairings were spot on and delicious. Started with a premier cru chablis and then continued with by the glass wines as each of our entrees required different wines. Erik the sommelier was knowledgeable and personable and made our evening a true "experience".
Wow. What a fantastic experience. The service was knowledgeable and unobtrusive. The food was phenomenal. We had the foie gras, cucumber soup, halibut and duck. All perfect. For dessert, the chocolate bar blew our freakin minds. Cannot wait to return.
The food is amazing. Very vibrant flavors and delicious. Ambiance is wonderful.
It was my husband’s and my anniversary. I loved the whole experience!
Food was underwhelming, staff were inexperienced but pleasant to the best of their ability, ambience was dull.
Accommodated our late arrival due to a storm; food was excellent; service, however, was inattentive - took 20 minutes before someone acknowledged us, bread but no butter, server was not around.
Needs to improve the restroom cleanliness and prompter services
we had a great time
will be back
Love the new chef!
The food was delicious. Not one bad dish. Service was lovely but they did not ask if we wanted the wine list which was either presumptuous or just a miss. We ended up getting it from a back server and went ahead and ordered a bottle.
The dining room needs a facelift and none of the servers were wearing face masks even indoors which was unnerving. We ended up eating outdoors which was nice with the flower boxes next to the table.
Food was consistently great. The decor was looking just a bit dated.
Service was impeccable.
Amazing experience! Wonderful staff!
We ate outside in the sidewalk cafe in front of the restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. It is a bit pricey but worth it for a special occasion.
If you have an open mind about what to eat, bâtard will not disappoint!
The food and wine list are fantastic, the front of the house is a mess. The play list was a crazy mix that included Free Bird and Final Countdown among other poor fine dining choices. From the dining room you can see into the top of the kitchen where you were able to enjoy a rainbow view of plastic dishwasher racks. The bathrooms reminded me of a college bar…not a good one. Too bad : (
