Great restaurant with simple menu and delicious options (not a bad item on it!). Highly recommend pre fixe makes everything easier.

Not great.

Foie gras appetizer was very good: A.

Wine list is amazing and the sommelier impressed me: A

Beef dish with gloppy sauce: you're trying too hard and it's not good: D

Duck with yogurt and beets: ditto: D

Cheese tasting portions were grotesquely small.
When I had dinner at Daniel, they gave us half a disc of Epoisses. From you, we got a tablespoon full. Embarrassing for you: F

The waiter was over-the-top in a bad way: C+

The staff was horrible and rude. Rushing us to ordering and didn’t even ask how was the dinner. The worst thing is tonight its my birthday..
the food is not bad but the service is unreasonable bad..

We're sorry you didn't enjoy your experience. You had a 6.30pm reservation for 3 guests on a busy Friday evening, the first member of your party arrived at 6.50 the second at 7.10 and the last came at 7.30. We did ask you several times if you would order dinner so we could bring it to you in a timely fashion being that the table was booked for another party at 8.45pm. I guess at that point you were determined not to enjoy your evening.

Service - Servers were helpful and pleasant.

Ambiance - All the chairs are in need of refurbishment-very worn around the edges. A thin black plastic cloth was placed over certain areas to cover the wear but it showed throughout. Place looked worn out to me.

Food - mixed. We both loved our starters. My duck entree was just blah. Chicken entree was good. Side of potatoes tasted stale, like leftovers. Gluten-free bread was awful.


I can see how the place got a Michelin star at some point but it is losing some of its shine and consistency. Compared to the one stars I have visited in London, this place did not meet my expectations.

My first visit to Batard. We ate outside. Our waiter was very helpful and attentive. Food was good but portions relatively small given the prix fixe price of $75.00 for 2 courses. And sides are priced separately. I thought it was more expensive than it should be.

Very tasty with good plating skill. Very well seasoned fish to duck and reasonable wine list.
Highly recommend it.

But service was spotty and inconsistent. Could be friendlier. I assume they are experiencing staff shortage.

We had an enchanting evening dining in the outdoor area. The space is surrounded by herbs, which give such a wonderful aroma. Every dish was impeccably prepared (we enjoyed the foie gras, beef tartare, halibut and chicken) We were recommended a perfect wine accompaniment to compliment the various tastes. A perfect and special meal!

The menu is much more limited than it was prior to the pandemic. Everything we had was very good, though not quite as good as meals at Bâtard prior to the pandemic. The service was cordial and professional, but was not back the the extraordinary pre-pandemic standard of service. Great to have this wonderful restaurant open again and serving indoors.

This is a wonderful and very affordable fine dine. The service is impeccable, the space beautiful, and the food is delicious. Highly recommend you put it on your NYC trip, especially for a special occassion.

The food was incredible, honestly the best duck and gnocchi I've ever had! I think the bargain price for fine dining made the food taste even better! Our waiter was also very attentive, and his food recommendations led us to both delicious dishes. My only small criticism was that we had to wait a few minutes before any staff even noticed that we needed to be seated, like there wasn't a host/hostess waiting for new arrivals. Otherwise, from the time we sat down, everything exceeded my expectations.

The food here is excellent and beautifully presented. (The creative take on beef bourguinon was terrific). However, the restaurant itself seems to be in decline. Banquettes are worn and shabby. Chandeliers are dusty and have some burned out bulbs. Tables (no tablecloths) are worn and chipped. Our waiter was pleasant and competent, but inexperienced. No amuses, no petit fours. It was a slow night, mostly empty, so maybe it made everything look worse. But overall this was not the sort of high-end dining experience one would expect at this price point

Had a lovely evening at Batard. The service was amazing and everyone was very attentive. The food was exceptional, especially the beef bourguignon which was the best I’d ever had. We’ll definitely be going back again and can’t wait to try more of their delicious food.

Not a Michelin star at all.

We didn't like it at all. We do not understand what they gave the Michelin star for. Maybe after receiving it, the owners completely relaxed.
1) the toilet is dirty
2) dirty napkins and plates are not cleaned for a long time. service is poor
3) there are no tablecloths on the tables
4) the food is not tasty: foie gras consists more of butter than liver, beef is awful, cream in the dessert fatty with a sour taste like cheap eateries), the choice of cheese is bad
5) the prices are very high

Hi, just want to respond to your comments, First thank you for coming to Batard. Our Foie Gras doesn't have any butter or dairy. Our Beef Bourguignon is a modern interpretation not the traditional version. The cream on the dessert is creme fraiche which is a different flavor profile from heavy cream. Food was outstanding. Some of the best we have had. Special praise for their beef tartare. Best ever. Portion size was just right. Service was great. Would definitely visit again

I went to Batard for my Birthday and boy am I glad I did!!! The vibe and the people were welcoming in every way. The food was extraordinary, everything we ordered was superb. The flavors and the creativity were extremely well done. Can't wait to go back!!!

We sat indoors, awesome ambiance. The server was very attentive. Very good selection of wine by the glass. The food was tasteful. Quite large portions for a Michelin star restaurant.

Batard was a great restaurant, deserving of their michelin star. Prix fix menu with choice of courses, no chef tasting menu. But i was very happy with my experience there!
