One or worse experience in a restaurant
This restaurant is 0
My food was incomplete
I waited 45 minutes for my drinks and when they arrived were wrong
I talked with the manager and he mistake with my order too
Server was terrible sorry but she was confused all time
I left without not dinner
I wasn’t the only one 4 more tables left
Please don’t waste your time in this restaurant
I am not sure if they had kinks due to just opening but the service was slow. Took forever to get drinks and food and 2 dishes never came. The paella was undercooked.
We had the absolute worst experience for my wife's birthday.
Loved the place and the service!! Definitely coming back !
Not many people there, but service incredibly slow. Such a great patio and could be a great restaurant.. but service not great and food very mediocre. Too much competition in the area to return. Best food was the empanadas but we had to ask for them bc they were not delivered w the rest of our food... finally came 30 minutes after everything else. Won’t be returning unfortunately.
Food took for ever to be served, even without having many people at the restaurant, also very salty.drinks were horrible not mixed properly will never go again. This was our first time and the last one.
Delicious food as always, I wish you can incorporate the traditional dishes pre Pandemic times.
thanks guys for making an effort to open your place and allow us to have a nice time
Terrible service, waited 20 min to get water, another 10 for a straw, and then no silverware for 15 min after our food came and subsequentially got cold.
Great place for date night! One of my favorites for the last 2 years of going.
Great meal for our family. Four people selected a total of ten tapas and everyone had plenty to eat. Service was excellent and the patio had a nice vibe. Sadly, there was no live entertainment as we had expected the Friday night we went, but Coronavirus fears probably contributed to that.
We had not been to Batanga in a while, and remembered the food quality to be much higher than it was on this visit. While overall the food was still good, some items were just sloppy. The pork ribs came out burned, and otherwise bland, the usually excellent bacon-wrapped dates had been sitting under a heat lamp to the point where the balsamic glaze had become baked onto the plate.
Our experience was still good and we will likely return.
Good place with small delicious plates. Will be visiting again.
The waiter did a poor job checking in on our table, didn’t bother to ask how we were doing or if we needed anything. Also, parts of the paella were burnt while other parts were mushy. The flavors were lacking as well, it didn’t appear that there was any salt. The only good thing about my dining experience was the live music, which otherwise would’ve been mediocre.
Excellent food, Excellent service. I would go back and recommend this restaurant.
Great environment, great parking options, fast service, informed wait staff. Definitely going back
Great food and service was fantastic! We would definitely go back!
Bad service, bad experience. Wouldn't return back over here at all.
Pretty good service, nice music. I really liked the outdoor space
I really like Batanga. The music and atmosphere is great. The food is wonderful and priced at what you'd expect for downtown tapas. The service on my last visit was pretty bad though. Our waiter would literally disappear for 30 min. The others that delivered our food and drinks to us were very helpful and nice but our assigned waiter was not good. Hoping it was just a bad night. But makes me hesitant to go back and get stuck with a bad waiter again.
Excellent food and wine. Great service! The dishes are small and creative tapas.
Our first time at Batanga, and our waiter made a recommendation for the Tasting, and helped us pick out a few dishes. Turned out great - all six of our choices were excellent.
Conflicted with my review. I had been to Batanga many times in 2018-19. It used to be one of my to-go spots in downtown. It's been several months since my last visit. The food quality and flavor has diminished, the portion sizes reduced (a small grilled avocado for the price paid). The Happy Hour was sad, limited options, and portions were ridiculously small. The drinks are still good, and the ambiance is nice. Perhaps I shall eat elsewhere and go just for drinks from now on.
Music was so loud indoors that we couldn’t have coversation. Our waiter took 40 minutes to take our order and then did not deliver all of our plates. He said that we were overlooked : (
Host stuck 5 of us at a 4 top. Pretended we did not have a reservation for 5
Great food and the service was good. The drinks were also great.
We were totally surprised with the quality of the Tapas. The waiter recommended 5 and all of the 5 were wonderful. The place is for sure old and ran down but it also add a little to the local character.
The music at the venue can be improved. The singer can be hardly understood- the music overpowers her voice.
Great food and service.
Easy walk to theater district
3 hour street parking on meter...free after6
Wish it was closer to me
Would go back more often!
Don't miss the mushroom croquettes!
Good food and service. Nice variety of small plates. Enjoyed the ambiance and service.
I always have a great time here! Love this place. Just won’t sit next to an exit door.. next time I’ll ask for a different table. But great food, great service and great ambiance.
I went on a New Year’s Eve it was cold outside , we had a seat that was by the door and I took my coat off but during my dinner this one person just opened the door and left it open. It wasn’t stuffy or extremely hot, I asked was she going to close the door after I sat and watched her put a table together, her response was oh we need to get some air in here. We all had to put our coats on to finish our average tapas. One an done.
I've always wondered about the cute place with all the hanging umbrellas on the corner. It has interest, attractiveness, and history! Made a brunch reservation for a group before a play and I couldn't have been more pleased. They were ready with the table and offered to change it if it wasn't perfect - not needed! Sangria was very tasty, stuffed dates were heavenly. Everyone enjoyed their food, I heard no complaints. They have a good selection of brunch, light bites, heavier plates, and a nice selection of cocktails, wine an beer. I will be back!
Fantastic food! The waitor was excellent and super helpful. GET THE PAELLA! It's definitely worth the $46 and even more.
The Sunday drink specials were exceptional too. Will defniitely be back!
Fun night for wife and myself, always enjoy our times here, still on the pricey side.
Awesome pre-theatre dinner! Loved the food! Perfect portions and wide selection!
We were there for Sunday Brunch to celebrate a Birthday, was good
Fantastic variety of amazing food. We chose the 6 dish taster and Anthony helped recommend and space them out sonwe could thoroughly enjoy each one. Delicious drinks, too!
Service was not very good. Hostess was not very friendly and waiter did not come a around to get drink orders or give us the check. We found ourselves looking for help. Music was supposed to start at 8:00 and by 9:00pm they were barely setting up.
Excellente!!! Food is superb. Will be back on January 2020.
Staff made sure our meal was a great experience. Food was amazing and drinks on point. We will definitely be back!
